Shopping for a shirt at Drake’s was an absolute delight! The staff was friendly, offering a fast and responsive service that made the experience seamless. Not only did they help me find the perfect shirt, but the ambience of the store added to the overall charm.

Exceptionally good selection, exceptionally poor service. Shockingly bad service in fact. I went to Drake’s on Savile Row with the express intention of purchasing a gift. The doorman was polite and courteous but the polite and courteous service ended there. Overall the staff are inattentive and customer service is largely non-existent. I was ignored entirely by the staff (and I was well dressed!) and yet there were plenty of staff around chatting with one another. I finally went up to the counter, stood in line as if to make a payment and asked if someone could assist. I did end up making my purchase (only because it was a gift and I knew it was what they wanted) but I will not be back. Overall, not the experience I was hoping for from a high end shop. I’ve had better service at Pret a Manger.

I had to review the shop because I was surprised to see quite a few negative reviews. First, I really like going to this shop rather than online. Staff to me has been always helpful and never pushy on anything. The girl that has served me this time (earlier today) had the perfect balance of being attentive without being overbearing and caught my attention from the moment I walked in. Second, re prices. Honestly the brand is expensive. However, high end menswear right now is generally extortionate. Berg&Berg, Rubato, Anthology, Real McCoys, Anglo Italian, Brycelands are all comparable brands in terms of consumer appeal and prices there are the same and in some cases higher (Rubato for instance has lost its mind and I am not shopping there as cannot justify the prices when each time I have to order the item online, pay for return etc.). At least among those, I can see Drake’s maintains an expensive location at Saville Row where I can walk in and see items in flesh. Third, the style is always on point. High rise trousers, shirts and some blazers really fit off the rack. Not everything is up my alley and I am not sure I like some of the lookbooks (how many layers can you put on yourself in real life?), but you can play around and find your own style within the stock (love blending rugby polos with some Dehen outerwear). All in all, I certainly wish the clothes were cheaper. But unfortunately I don’t see that happening with all the menswear brands hiking prices year after year and items being sold out. Style is on point and my experience with service has been great (the lady even called me immediately this time after I left my book in the fitting room - thank you!).

Drakes has evolved over time to be one of the finest menswear stores in the UK. It has classic style, with a mix of ivy, British smoothness, character and elegance. There savile row store is beautifully designed, it has the full range and I love the shirts, coats, jackets, ties and accessories they have for the modern chap. You don't feel bored looking at their designs and the quality is of a very high standard. The staff are very helpful as they hold a wealth of knowledge. The staff live by the drakes ethos of excellent taste and know how to wear it. Anyone who loves good clothese should go to drakes and buy their wardrobe filled with good quality clothing. I always get compliments from friends and random strangers. If you found my review helpful please press like. thank you very much.

Attended this store while on leisure travel. I had seen their scarves and ties online before, but wanted to see them in person before buying anything. A man named Barrington assisted me and even offered something to drink several times. He made sure I was comfortable while browsing the store. I liked that just about everything was made either in the UK or Italy. I ended up buying the scarf I had seen online. Will definitely come back.

Google
It’s a great brand and high quality off the rack and custom tailoring store with a very British dandy / preppy ivy league vibe. I find that while the service is professional it could turn down the dial on with the posh affected attitude from the sales staff…but then again what do you expect on Savile Row?

I had a truly disappointing experience at Drake’s. The service was not just inattentive—it was downright dismissive. There was a clear difference in how certain customers were treated, and it was impossible to ignore the undertones of bias. It’s disheartening to see this kind of behaviour in a supposedly reputable establishment. I had high expectations, but I certainly won’t be returning. Would not recommend.

Unfortunately, this was a massive let down. It seems that this store has everything figured out except service. I visited with the intention to pick up some RoToTo socks. The store is beautiful and clearly a a lot of effort was made to make it look good, I wish the same could be said about the staff. When I am came to the counter (after no one approaching offering to assist me) and the associate looked at another colleague before looking at me!! Holding back a laugh as if frustrated with my purchase. The associate then spoke to his colleague and said “you might as well take this one”. If my tender bothers the associate so much then I will spend my money elsewhere. I was absolutely shocked. Poor service.

Yelp
In Paris during the 1980s, I bought a silk & cashmere square measuring 105 cm x 105 cm. It was incredibly beautiful, a multicolored design with unicorns prancing & other subjects on a navy background with a turquoise border. Some asshole who must have crashed one of my parties stole it from me, together with a great pale yellow triple yarn cashmere sleeveless sweater. I felt pissed off & violated. Trying to find another one on the web, I learned that the store I'd bought it from - Hilditch & Key on r de Rivoli near the pl de la Concorde - no longer exists. But every search I did on them or the unicorn square brought up at least one entry for Drakes London. So I visited their online store, & discovered to my disappointment that they had no item resembling what I sought. But... they did have some AMAZING silk & wool scarves for men, including several with colorful Kelim designs, measuring 48 cm x 180 cm. Granted, £253 including express courier shipping to Brooklyn, NY is hardly a giveaway, but I couldn't resist. And it's still more beautiful than the Hilditch & Key scarf was. So I'm one happy camper. For any dude who likes to spoil himself on occasion, or anyone wishing to gift someone with an object that fulfils the expression, "A thing of beauty is a joy forever," hurry to Drakes London's website & feast your eyes on the scarves!

Yelp
Well, what is to say about Drake's ? The brand founded by tie guru Michael Drake just opened a new (flagship ?) store in Clifford Street. Once famous for their high-quality cashmere and wool ties, the branch recently branched out into other aspects of menswear. Their ties are undisputably of high quality, and Drake's have a nice choice of non-silk ties (i.e. wool, wool-silk blend and cashmere) ties as well as bow ties and handkerchiefs. However, for some reason, Drake's ties seem to lack the understated elegance that you so often see in Italian wool and cashmere ties, and the colours and patterns are often much to bold or strange for my taste. A lot of the Drake's ties are fairly narrow (8 cm) and they sell a broad range of even narrower 7 cm ties. This may be quite en vogue at the moment, but the tie width clearly deviates from what one would consider a classic shape. Drake's have recently started selling a whole range of menswear items including jackets and shirts that are similarly high-quality items, but again not necessarily what you would consider "classic" menswear - which is surprising since a lot of style savants highly recommend their products. The selling prices for Drake's ties are slightly above 100 GBP which seems reasonable for their high quality, but most of their other menswear items are in my opinion (sometimes highly) overpriced. Ties - aye, other producs - nay !

Yelp
This is the best shop in London for you're looking for decent quality British made woven silk ties. I would seriously recommend Drake's when it comes to ties. Drake's ties are hand made in Clerkenwell, London. The manager of Drake's used to work for Emma Willis in Jermyn Street. Drake's are right next door to Richard James. As of early 2012, the former retail manager from T Fox & Co in Moorgate, the most unique umbrella store in the City, now works for Drake's again as retail manager. And also this retail manager reminds me of Christophe Waltz from Tarantino's, Dejango Unchained (2013) whilst the actor himself was signing autographs at the Empire Cinema in Leicester Square during the film premiere event of Dejango Unchained
