This place was a gem, and our favorite place in Jamaica where we stayed. It is owned by an Italian lady, and her daughter, and they seem to do a lot to give back to the Jamaican community. The place is small, but comfortable. We got a room without an en suite bathroom, which was fine, as long as you don’t mind walking down the stairs and using the bathroom off of the kitchen. Also, the water in the shower wasn’t that hot, but that seems to be a systemic problem throughout Jamaica. Carlotta was really helpful in telling us what to do in the area, and helping us to set it up. She called a really great guide for us to do Reach Falls, and we were incredibly grateful to her for that. ||If you arrange with them ahead of time, they can also cook a delicious Jamaican dinner for you, for a fairly reasonable price. The night were we there, they made coconut fish and rice, which was absolutely delicious. ||||Tips: They don’t have a credit card machine, so be prepared to pay with cash (we paid in Jamaican, but they also accept dollars). ||||Be careful walking along the road, the cars get scarily close. Hopping on a route taxi or minibus is also easy enough. ||||Be sure to check out the small beach near the guest house – there is no fee, and it is delightful. Frenchman’s Cove is nice, but a little overpriced, IMO. ||||They don’t have a washing machine, but if you have been travelling a long time, there is a sink in the back with soap and a clothesline. However, be warned that things take approximately forever to dry. ||||The wifi is there, but pretty slow.
