Google
You’ll get a ton of mileage out of this place if you’re into vintage furniture. Record collection in the back is very extensive but the prices on some of the selection (namely the more widely available reissues they have) are way too aggressive. Awesome place to dig for gems, but you’ll be better served starting a new collection elsewhere. Still, totally worthwhile to stop by.

Google
Lots of neat furniture and a fantastic selection of records in the back. Surprising selection too! I feel like I always walk out of here with a gem or two. Where else can you go through a stack of records and find Adolescents and Bad Brains records next to some Madonna and Taylor Swift, huh?

Google
I visited DFT for the first time today and will definitely be back soon. This shop has a great story is as close to a real life treasure hunt as you can get. I found some amazing iridescent kitchen glasses and marble coasters plus they even have a sizeable collection of vinyl records which was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommend stopping by in person or peeping their Instagram for all your interior decor needs.

Google
great vintage curation, huge record selection. Coffee shop coming soon! Must visit

Google
It took many visits through the first 1/3 of the vintage furnishings before I realized that the bait and tackle part of awning wasn’t an ironic nod. There really is a tackle shop in the deep recesses of the shop! And before you get there, there’s a nicely curated record collection to sho through.

Google
Small space full of great selections of antique stuff. Style varies from modern to BoHo. Unique, fun, and expensive.

Google
Perhaps the largest selection of vinyl records in NY tucked away in a second hand furniture and fish and tackle shop. The owners are super knowledgeable in music and helpful in finding records I want. Also they give you fair exchange prices on your vinyl. It’s a dangerous place for vinyl lovers. Every time we go there we leave with 4-5 records after several hours of browsing

Google
I think this is our favorite record store in NYC. And we've been to most of them. We find so many albums we want, we have to save some for later. Found some really rare records at good prices. I'm guessing it's a family owned place, and they're very knowledgeable about music. Good collection of alternative, punk and jazz. A real hidden gem.

Yelp
Echoing the sentiment on the best record collection. Amazing. Owner was so knowledgeable and helpful. My daughter and I had so much fun finding so many gems. The furniture and items in the store are really great too. Don't miss this cool and groovy store!

Yelp
They moved! Opening in FEBRUARY! Two blocks away from old place! Follow them on Instagram @dreamfishingtackle Great spot

Yelp
Rude and disrespectful. I was trying to buy one album before closing to, had it in hand with money, had checked in earlier about closing time, and the clerk was ringing someone up. The maybe owner came in from outside and told me to get out in the most condescending tone I've heard from someone trying to do business. There are other shops with the same shit, check those out instead.

Yelp
amazing staff best vintage store in Brooklyn and so many cool finds, The place is out of this world....Hit this place up! Best part of my weekend!! They have and sell almost everything and anything imaginable. And if they dont they are even willing to find it for you!

Andy M.

Yelp
A hidden gem in Greenpoin, Brooklyn with the most eclectic stules of furniture and some of the best vinyl record selection one can dream of! A very cool vibe and with a great atmosphere and great music playing on the background. Also, they have fishing gear in the back. Super interesting and an odd mixture of all! If you want to step outside of reality for a bit and get distracted by the overwhelming site of a collage of furniture art and fishing decor and gear and a gazzillion records ranging from vintage to new then take a walk into Dream Fishing Tackle!

Yelp
Bought a record here that turned out to be a bootleg, that was overpriced as is, and the lady inexplicably surcharged me 20% on top of it all

Yelp
If you're looking for fresh bait, don't go here! They only had clams today and the clams were frozen. Very disappointing especially since we drove about 30 mins out of the way to go there. I should have called ahead.

Yelp
Only reviewing this place for its records. I feel bad even spilling the secret in public, but I must: This has got to be one of, if not the best record stores I've ever visited. Truly a gem. Amazing balance between selection, price, and quantity. I went in looking for jazz and left with 5-6 rock records, all of which were priced extremely well and not the easiest to find. I joke that you can judge a record store by how many Herb Alpert albums are in jazz, and how many Frampton records are in rock. This place had no more than one of each, but had loads of other classics, old folk and gospel records, organ jazz, rare/live bootlegs, thrash/metal, rap, reggae, and some quality cheapo records too. The owner, whose name I forget, knocked several bucks off the total bill and spent time on discogs proving the records were priced fairly (which was totally unnecessary but a really nice touch). Love this place.

Yelp
I was surprised to experience the total opposite of what I am reading on this platform. first when I got there I was like where the hell is the fish store...it was at the back of this vintage furniture store. Anyways the kind gentleman who attended me is extremely knowledgeable of the sport. I brought my own rod and reel in so he can set me up which he successfully did within minutes for pennys. This guy knows his stuff!

Yelp
Awesome shop - amazing, unique vintage pieces from wall decor to seating to tables and lamps. The record selection is also outstanding and, from what we've purchased, all great quality. High price points but the pieces are all things I've never seen anywhere else (other than the odd rare Jonathan Adler piece, which I've seen but never been able to find!). I'll be back again and again.

Yelp
This place has an excellent wealth of carp fishing tackle. From extend-able rods, to hooks, and yes, even imported carp bait. The owner Robert, has extensive knowledge on carp fishing within the State of NY. This is THE store I go to, when I'm looking to target carp. While it is considered a nuisance fish here in the US, it is a sport fish in all other countries. Located on the border of Queens & Brooklyn, in the Williamsburg area. It is a bit out of the way for me to get there, either driving or public transportation from Queens. However, this place is worth a visit if your looking for any particular carp related equipment. That's not to say that they don't carry anything else. Dream Fishing Tackle also has plenty of saltwater and various other freshwater fishing tackle available. But to my knowledge, this the only store in within the 5 boroughs that actually carries equip/tackle primarily for carp. If the owner isn't busy, be sure to approach him regarding tips and techniques, on when, where and how to target carp.

Yelp
It's an interesting concept, selling fishing supplies, vintage furniture and vinyl all under one roof but I'm very much for it. I don't fish so I can't say much on that end other than it looks like they have a large variety of product (and it gives the store a slight smell, nothing really bad though). Furniture wise they have some great stuff and the prices are better than average compared to other vintage furniture stores in the area. But to me where this place really hits a home run in the vinyl. They have good variety and a lot of popular stuff that anyone would like to add to their collection. If for nothing else, I'll be back for some more vinyl.

Yelp
"If you don't hunt and you don't fish, then I got nothin' to say to you." I made my first visit to Dream Fishing Tackle this evening. I'd heard good things about the place from fellow anglers in the past, but a recent trip to Coney Island, and the fisherman that I met there, made an immediate visit necessary. Winston, the Jamaican dude who I got talking to at Coney Island, was fishing using the elusive 'Queen Cocohoe' softbait and hooking fish with it, and he told me that the only place that carries them is "that tackle shop that the Polish dudes own, down there in Greenpoint. Dream Fishing Tackle it's called." I said "thanks Winston." And he gave me one to try and let me keep it (fisherman are cool like that) I lost it on my third cast. Bummer. So tonight I had some time to jump on my bike and head over to Dream. I ask the man at the counter where in the store I could find the Cocohoe. He gave me a look like I must be an angler in the know (which is the opposite of what I am) and advised that I should come back another time because a gentleman just recently cleaned him out of them. "Jamaican guy?" I asked. "Yep, sure was" he answered. Hmph. That damn Winston. But I picked up a few other things that I needed and the man at the front was SUPER helpful. Some other pertinent details about the shop: 1. GREAT selection 2. GOOD prices 3. FRIENDLY service. 4. PERFECT location. 5. Jamaicans welcome. And, evidently, Cubans are too. That's my review. The quote that I put there at the top of my review has nothing to do with Dream Fishing Tackle, but it was written on the shirt of some fat redneck who I saw once at a tackle shop in Binghamton.

Yelp
Quite possibly the worst shop I have ever been too. I walked in today and it stunk really bad of something rotting. I asked the clerk, the lady sitting at the counter, who was very unhelpful and uninterested in helping me. "What stinks?" She said, "You do know you are in a fishing shop!" I said, "I know but it smells like something is rotting, maybe the refrigerator door is open." She said, "We have been in business for 25 years if you don't like the way it smells, you can leave." I went to leave, and the smell became even more intense. I have been in many fishing shops. I grew up fishing, none have ever SMELLED this BAD!!! Then on the left inside the door, there was this big garbage can over flowing with garbage! Yuck! Flies swarming it! I said, "This is what stinks!!!" There was trash in plastic bags tied up next to the big garbage can! It was really gross! two flies landed on my head too! The lady just gave me a dirty look. I will never go back there! At all costs avoid this shop! The staff is unfriendly and the place stinks, literally!

Yelp
Visit store yesterday 08/29/18. I like it . Friendly environment.... Previous years was mostly fishing oriented a lot of good products for disent prices..Now a little bit of everything!!! The best tried it yourself...

Greg M.

Yelp
Been to this place a couple times and love it. While I can't speak to the quality of the fishing gear (not a fisher myself), the records and furniture items are great. I asked the owner for some minimalist composer recommendations. I didn't expect much of a reply. Before I knew it, he had about 10 albums pulled out. They weren't all in the same section, so he's got a great memory for his organizational system. I appreciate his thorough knowledge of his products. Would recommend anybody stopping through Brooklyn to check out this amazing little store.

Amanda R.

Yelp
Horrible experience. Originally, I made the trek out to the store to pick up an item I bought on Instagram. Firstly, none of the employees were wearing masks and they weren't enforcing customers to wear masks either. In a store so cramped where you can't dodge other people, this made me feel especially unsafe during a global pandemic. The city is, by law, enforcing businesses to wear and enforce masks...So clearly they aren't taking COVID seriously at all. My friend who came with me was digging through the record section, which seemed pretty impressive. I felt a little weird when one of the employees came back there to monitor us as if they had already made up their minds that we were trying to steal something or be sneaky, which is outrageous considering I just had spent almost $90 on a wall hanging. We found a record that seemed like a great find. Took it to the register and the employee immediately called the owner for a price check, then accused us of switching out the price. It's not our fault you don't know the worth of your own merchandise. Great way to alienate customers. Don't know that I will ever be returning as this experience put a horrible taste in my mouth.

Yelp
20 bucks one regular size bunker frozen and tall bottle of clams... Old clams.... I mean never again

Yelp
Love this spot. Classic local hybrid of a fishing tackle store (which I presume was owned by the dad?) that became a record store and also now one of the best vintage homewares stores in a neighborhood that has a lot of them (daughter's contribution). And a friendly cat! Hidden gem.

Michael H.

Yelp
Nice people, good selection. If you are looking for a local tackle shop this is the place. Good selection of rods, reels, fishing line, lures, hooks, weights, etc. They are open late. Give it a shot - can get some good deals. If they don't have it they will order it for you.
google avatar

Rusty R.

Yelp
If you like testing your cat allergy reaction or consider the overwhelming smell of cat piss a delicacy, I highly recommend buying your fishing lures here.

Gabrielle R.

Yelp
Some friends and I stumbled across this place by accident and fell in love. The furniture in front is very cool, but you really have to check out the vinyl in the back. Robert has an astonishing collection at great prices. He really knows his stuff! Come here to hunt for that one record you can't find anywhere else.
google avatar

James P.

Yelp
This place is very unique. Robert is extremely friendly and answered all my fresh water fishing questions. The prices seem fair, and the selection was plentiful. If you're looking for a Walmart style fishing supply store...go to Walmart. If your looking for a local tackle shop...this is your place. Spent $36, and walked out with everything I needed to outfit my tackle box for a weekend in the mountains. Thanks Robert!

Yelp
I had a great experience with the owner of Dream Fishing Tackle, he was very patient and had a lot of information on fishing and the different type of tackle that I needed. Would definitely recommend this place and return as a customer

Yelp
I am an avid fisherman and have been to probably too many tackle shops. I walked in here and was hit in the face with the smell. This place is dirty and the staff don't even acknowledge your existence. They do carry a fair amount and variety of tackle but don't seem to care. I will only return for a tackle emergency.

Victor L.

Yelp
I've been fishing since I could walk. This is by far the coolest tackle shop I have ever witnessed. Great informative service, especially if you want to battle giant carp. They have imported lures and rigs from Japan that are well priced and bait that is RARE. If I still lived in Jersey I would drive here, it's that awesome.

Shin C.

Yelp
Just got back from visiting Dream Fishing Tackle, and when I rechecked my receipt it turned out the girl working in the shop had added on a couple of dollars to the price and I was overcharged by $3.95. Needless to say I won't be back.

Kevin S.

Yelp
Place doesn't look like much but is a virtual gold mine. Great prices, good selection from poles and reels to all of your tackle needs. Dont forget to tap into Robert's wealth of knowledge.....second to none!
