Dream Hostel & Hotel

Had an excellent stay here at Dream Hotel! Located near the train station, its facilities were pleasant, with great attention accorded to the decor as well. It was nice to be able to use the pantry/kitchen area and be able to have a cup of coffee too!

Thanks for making my stay in Tampere very enjoyable! Kudos to your reception staff, they’re very friendly and welcoming. Your place is very clean and I love the little notes with tips or facts about sustainability. Nice rooms too! You barely can hear anything, so it’s perfect if you want to sleep properly

Dream Hotel and Hostel was a great stay for the night. Centrally located near to the Tampere train station about only about a 10min or less walk to a tram stop, it was close to everything we needed. The room itself was clean, functional, and access to tea and coffee just outside was an added bonus. While we didn’t experience it this time, the buffet breakfast they put on downstairs also looks really good. Thank you again!

Great location, price, and staff. Stayed one night in a room with a bathroom. We were able to check-in one hour early. Appreciate the staff going above and beyond to accommodate us early. Ten minute walk from train station, five to Nokia and supermarket. You all have restaurants nearby.

Clean, well stocked and equipped hostel a 10min walk from the train station. I stayed for 1 night midweek in a 4-bed dorm and had the whole dorm to myself for the night. Note that you have to make up your own bed but sheets are clean and good quality. There seemed to be plenty of showers and toilets for everyone and I liked that there were sinks in the corridor you could use. The kitchen and seating area are on the same level as the rooms but people were quiet and respectful. There was a range of travellers including solo, couples and families and everyone was friendly. The hostel didn't seem busy or overcrowded. Staff were helpful and let me store my luggage for the day. I would recommend Cafe Puusti which is just round the corner for excellent coffee and cinnamon buns.

Nice rooms and good location near the stations. The bathroom is a bit small but manageable. The staff is very friendly and flexible: I could arrive before check-in time and store my luggage, and also come back after reception closed (17 on Sundays) and get in my room, where my luggage awaited me, using instructions sent by email. Very convenient. Nice breakfast, although not a whole lot for vegans (vegan yogurt, bread spread, oat milk and the usual vegetables and jams), but still alright. Overall a great stay.

I can review the hotel part. Slightly different from usual hotels, with some amenities missing from the rooms. The design of the shower was not ideal and prone to flooding. On the plus side there is a kitchen area with cutlery and dishes. Breakfast quite basic but enough to start the day. Would have expected a lower price given its "budget" nature but for some reason prices were quite high in Tampere when I stayed there.

I've been here for a 4 day trip to Tampere. The hostel is close to the railway station and the city center is not far away, so it is a very good location! I stayed in a 4-bed room and it was really comfortable. Good beds and enough space for luggage. Bathrooms were great, toilets okay. The kitchen had everything you need, although the fridge was very full for your own stuff, but otherwise everything was perfect. Good service and a good place to stay!

Not really THE place of my dreams, but the Dream Hostel in Tampere is indeed a place for a pleasant stay. It is surprisingly clean even though there are just a small number of bathrooms and showers and attracts young backpackers and families with kids alike. Do not worry: it quiets down at midnight so you will get some good nights sleep. My female 4-bed-dormitory was spacious and nicely designed with a church on the wall and wooden bunk beds. Just the sleep comfort was of a kind I would not like to have at home - no slatted frame, but a wood panel underneath a soft mattress ... well, sleeping late is seldom an option when travelling ;O). The rate only includes linen, no towel (2 € for rent) and no breakfast (enough space for your food in the hostel´s fridges + supermarket at shopping centre close by). Kind of a letdown: the usage of the Internet PC is 1 € for 30 minutes! Are you kidding??? So many hostels offer free Internet AND breakfast for less than 28 € dorm rate. But overall a cool place quite close to Tampere´s bus and train station, a lovely park called Sorsapuisto (with lots of chicken and peacocks) as well as its famous and beautiful Tampere Cathedral. In addition, you can get to a number of nice cafés and restaurants within 10 to 15 minutes walking. An enjoyable stay in Tampere will not remain only a dream.

If you're dark, handsome, and have a California accent stay here....Okay, I jest...but seriously if you do, well find out for yourself ;) I've just been on a long road trip trying to escape the Norwegian rain (which lasted for weeks) and made my way south to avoid it. I came to this hostel with no expectations other than to spend the night and push on to Estonia, Tallinn. But I'm pleasantly surprised...both by this hostel and the city of Tampere. Gorgeous! Friendly and very accommodating folks they are and sometimes flirtatious...but all for good fun :) The hostel is standard fare and prices decent, but if you've just been put through the run on the mill wallet emptying affair that is Norway, this is a welcome change. My 15 Euros got me 5 beers vs 1 in Norway...Win!
