Dreamboat Hostel

Great hostel great staff and volunteers. One of the most welcoming hostels I’ve been too. Everyone is very outgoing and friendly. Even if you aren’t staying there highly recommended checking out any of the nightly or daily activities. Karaoke is a blast. The cheese burger and pulled pork are also bomb. 👍

Pros: great location, hostel was clean in general, hot water for showers, lockers, some staff were good, kitchen is well equipped (albeit small!), social between the guests, lots of chill out areas too! Overall did enjoy my stay. Cons: it felt that there was way more staff than guests which made it feel very cliquey, lots of boasting of drinking/other stuff, the bar also closes at 10pm and you’re not allowed to hang out on the rooftop, bed imo were uncomfortable too.

We’ve been travelling for the last couple of months and this has been the best hostel we’ve stayed at! The location is great, just off the main street and less than a 5min walk to the boat ramp if you want to hit the lake and do some exploring. Given the vibe of Dreamboat, it’s very social, activities on everyday which makes it easy to make friends. Music shuts off at 10pm and for those looking to keep partying, the team will head out to another bar for the night. From the moment we arrived, Chris and Laura were for extremely hospitable and made us feel very welcome, they’re a great asset to the team. We were lucky enough to meet Mitch, one of the owners who brought nothing but good vibes, just a solid Aussie legend. Stayed 5 nights here while exploring Atilian and can't speak highly enough of this hostel. Booked a private room with ensuite and the shower was easily the best I've had in Guatemala. Hot as you want and loads of pressure. Rooftop is great, volunteers are fun and the owners seem to be great guys. Location is perfect and the prices in the restaurant/bar cannot be beat. I would stay here again and highly recommend this place to others.

I had an amazing stay at Dreamboat. The rooms are good, the food is great, and the staff are friendly, fun and genuine. I enjoyed it so much I came back a month later. As a solo traveller, Dreamboat was perfect for me.

I was excited to leave this hostel. Our dorm smelled like sewage and two of my four showers were ice cold. It’s very loud in the rooms - sound travels from the bar/halls and creaky beds. It’s definitely a party hostel which is fun, but often it felt more for the volunteers/staff and the guests are intruding. That being said, all the guests we met here were absolutely lovely!

Brilliant hostel in a great location. Friendliest staff who work hard to make sure you are included and are having a good time regardless of what you’re doing. Great for a party or just chilling by the pool. ||Very fun events, we had a games competition day against another hostel on the Lake which was very fun!||Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Great food at a very reasonable price.
