As pre-arranged by Quark Expeditions, I stayed here before and after my fly/cruise to Antarctica. The hotel's location on the waterfront was excellent [5.0] and quiet, and within walking distance to most tourist sights.||The assigned rooms were fair [2.8], but were clean, spacious, and quiet. The bathrooms were very large. The furnishings and linens were very comfortable, but, they were showing their age. Also, despite what staff told me, both of my rooms had no AC; stand-up fans were in both rooms. While the rooms were very warm initially, once I opened the windows and turned on the fans, the rooms got cold. Shower water pressure and temperature were excellent. ||Staff service was generally very good [4.5] throughout the hotel. However, they were overwhelmed at times. Some English was spoken by staff members, which is always very much appreciated! And, everyone was very friendly and approachable. ||The breakfast buffet was good [4.1], with an average array of choices to serve various tastes. The food, including outside of breakfast, was generally good. Service was attentive. ||The gym facility was excellent [5.0]. It was one of the most comprehensive hotel gyms I've ever come across on my worldwide travels.

Beautiful rooms with outstanding views of the Straits of Magellan. Excellent service with friendly staff. The hotel is centrally located and an easy walk to downtown Punta Arenas. The breakfast buffet was adequate but not extensive. A very nice hotel.

Only visited the casino. Dealer was fantastic. She knowledgeable and willing to teach newcomers how to play (Blackjack). Drinks were great and served at the tables. The only drawback is the smell of cigarette smoke lingered inside the entire casino. There is no smoking allowed, so not sure if it was coming in through an open door or what. If you can get past that, it was a great time

I stayed here a total of 3 nights - 2 nights before my Antarctic cruise, and 1 night on the way back.||I really liked this hotel and it exceeded my expectations.||Both rooms I was assigned were fantastic. Spacious, clean, modern, and comfortable. Lovely large bed. On the way back they gave me a massive apartment-sized room - crazy!||The service is top notch once you get to the hotel. Reception and restaurant staff are fabulous.||The hotel is right across the street from Unimarc - a large supermarket and very close to restaurants, souvenir stores, and the main town area and shops.||I want to thank the hotel for being flexible and preparing me a hot meal that was ready in my room when I arrived after midnight. I had a late flight coming in and room service closed at 11.30pm. I arranged for them to cook me a meal and have it ready in my room at 11.30pm. This was a lifesaver!||I very much enjoyed my stay here and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.||There were a couple of things that could have been improved:|1. It is very hard to get into contact with the hotel before arrival. They only respond to emails half the time. That being said, their concierge staff always responded to my emails and were a big help. Big thanks to Fernando from Concierge and Felipe from Reception who helped me greatly when I didn't get any response from the General Reception team. ||2. The hotel is extremely busy and the lifts took a long time to arrive on some occasions. One of the lifts also broke down on one day and the wait was even longer.||3. Gym opening times - they have a great gym but it closes early. I think on Sunday they close at 9pm. It's terrible. For a hotel like this, they should have the gym freely open till midnight.||Overall I think they did a wonderful job and provided great service on arrival. It was a great stay, thank you.

The dream hotel left something to be desired, and I’m gonna have to blame it on the construction, but they should never rent out rooms below the room that their construction is going on. I even heard jackhammers in the room above mine. I tried to change rooms, but of course they told me nothing was available. I tried to play the machines at the casino, but was never able to receive a casino card for whatever reason. The guy tried to enter my passport into the machine, but apparently it wouldn’t accept it, so I never was able to play in the casino, which I guess I should be happy about.

A modern hotel with all the amenities expected of such an established hotel. The room was roomy and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows provided an excellent sleep.|Breakfast selection was very good with many options to choose from.|The location is very convenient to a number of must-see attractions. |We would definitely stay here again.

Reception service was terrible; customer service can be vastly improved. Property location is great though and rooms are good size and clean. There was construction on top floors and a lot of hammering in our stay during the day that forced us to go down to get peace.

Rooms are well laid out and breakfast good.|On the day we arrived the lifts were broken which was not good when there were over 100 people checking in with luggage for quark expedition.|No coffee and tea in room or facilities to make anywhere. Therefore you had to wait for breakfast and nothing available in evening.

Yelp
Dreams, Dreams, Dreams, Dreeeeaaams.... Unexpectedly hi-end, this brand new hotel and casino built right on the water edge at the end of the OHiggins Boulevard. Dreams Punta Arenas is a beautiful modern hotel, I can only compare it to Aria in Vegas when it first opened. It is pretty big - with restaurant, casino, spa and skybar. Rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, free wifi, TV, huge bathtub, separate rain shower with massage jets, and all amenities you can wish for. Service at this place is something you wish every hotel had. They really meet any request you have. Even super-early breakfast is available on request. Check-in & check-out is a breeze. Casino floor is your typical one we used to in US. Complimentary guest passes available at reception desk for hotel guests. Parking garage is on lower levels, so that is very convenient. Restaurant on first floor is gorgeous. High ceilings, interesting light effects on the windows that visible at night time. Both food and service is on level - abalone was interesting to try, trio of Ceviches were out of this world, mushroom and octopus risotto was very, very good. Chile is known for fresh seafood, and they showcase it well. Very impressive drinks list - and of course, Chilean wine is outstanding, cannot go wrong with any of selections. And cannot beat the location on the water - there is a nice waterfront park to walk and enjoy the views of the End of the World next to it as well.

Yelp
The most distinguished hotel in town serves lunch and dinner buffet in its Doña Inés restaurant on the ground floor with a view to The Magallanes Straight. You'll be enticed by the attractive price for their offering of 42 dishes to choose from, between salads, main courses comprising Magallanes lamb, and dessert. But, don't be. Absolutely nothing in the buffet is worth a bite. Even the lamb is terrible despite the barbecuing method used, because it's cooked way too slow and way too long, plus, it doesn't get sufficiently hot to the buffet table. Fortunately for the patrons most customers don't seem to be bothered by these significant gaps. My advise for a true Magallanes lamb experience is to go across the street to "Los Ganaderos Grill & Restaurant", and just tell the waiter: "Cordero Magallánico", por favor. You'll enjoy a 3-course meal of selected cuts of lamb, perfectly cooked and served at the right temperature. Obviously, you'll need a glass of red wine, preferably the local Carmenere grape. The bill will surely be higher than the buffet but you won't regret. If you happen to try both restaurants, please let me know if you agree with me.
