We stayed here last weekend with 5 other couples, and had a wonderful time. This is my 3rd review of a resort in Mexico, and one of my favorite things about this place is that it's a bit smaller than the other resorts, and very easy to navigate. It's not overly spread out or hectic feeling. It's convenient when trying to find friends, food, drinks, and also helps some of us actually get to dinner on time!
Our room was clean, cute, and had a nice view of the beach. Sleeping to the sound of waves crashing was so romantic. My only complaint is that I love taking bubble baths and this room only had a shower. There were two great massaging shower heads and it was very spacious, but it was still not the bathtub I was hoping for. Beds were comfy, and the luxurious amenities were generously sized.
This is also the ONLY resort that I have visited in which the ENTIRE staff was extremely kind, professional, accommodating, and understanding of how to make their guests feel welcome and taken care of. Front desk, Pool Service, Bartenders, Restaurant staff, Cafe, Spa, - seriously the entire resort is staffed with friendly and helpful people!
We hit the Buffet for breakfast and lunch and it was good. Something for everyone, my favorite items were the fresh fruit and the chilaquiles. The Italian restaurant was absolutely delicious, and the French restaurant was just ok. The desserts offered at both were delectable. I'm still thinking about that mouth watering Crème Brûlée. The 24 hour cafe had desserts, coffee, gelato, smoothies, and again wonderful service. One woman even helped me learn a few new sentences, because my Spanglish is really coming along.
I booked a massage and facial at the spa and enjoyed both very much. Linda was so accommodating as she managed to schedule all of the services my girlfriends and I requested. It was relaxing, indulgent, and I highly recommend spending at least 1/2 a day there.
The last day of our trip I had a migraine, and I was a cranky little beast as I begged for a later check out. When I was flatly told "No" it was very disappointing I asked if there was somewhere to rest, and I was told "by the pool". Migraines are an extremely painful and disorienting event that occur in my brain. I needed a dark room, a place to vomit, and take my medicine so I can sleep. So I got pretty mean, and I'm not exactly proud. BUT, in my defense, I was sick. I did get a later check out, but I had to have a grown up temper tantrum first. My apologies to the front desk. Before we left, I heard some ugly cow yelling at the front desk and quickly realized that this is not a job that I would ever want. Thank you, and again, I apologize.
