"Dreams Riviera Cancun offers an archetypal family-friendly Mexican all-inclusive experience. Opened in 2009, this 486-room property is loaded with six bars, six a la carte restaurants, and one main buffet, and a wine cellar with a private dining room. This resort offers a good mix of relaxing and having fun, and it’s easy to make friends at the swim-up pool bar or participating in one of the many daily entertainment activities and challenges. You’ll also have beach access and a choice of spa treatments that can be experienced in a breezy outdoor palapa. A 2023 renovation brought in a kids’ waterpark and all-ages arcade to keep the youngsters happy. Rooms and suites feature contemporary Mexican decor with heavy warm wood, a unique octagonal shape, massive mirrors, and decked-out marble bathrooms. Unlike most of the hotels on this list, the resort has a tropical ambiance with the occasional thatched palapa roof and woven rattan decor accents like fan blades shaped like large palm fronds." - Katherine Alex Beaven Katherine Alex Beaven Katherine Alex Beaven is a Los Angeles-based travel, food and drink, and culture writer. A late review but myself and my partner stayed at Dreams in December for 12 days. ||We cannot fault our trip at all, it was incredible. We upgraded to preferred club on arrival which was completely worth it just based on the hydrotherapy experience in the jungle grounds of the hotel (a truly unforgettable experience) and breakfast with a clear sea view. ||Our room was super spacious and was kept beyond clean - even with turn down service. ||The beach was beautiful and there was barely any seaweed - on occasion with one day which had a storm there was a little but was quickly cleaned by the hotel staff - from walking up the beach it was clear that this hotel was the best one! ||The food was great, drinks perfect and the service was beyond amazing. The hotel is also conveniently located only a 40min beach walk from a local fishing village where we had some of the best food we've ever had. Lots of beach bars etc too! ||The thing which truly makes this hotel is the staff as everyone goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Uziel from the Entertainment Team gets a special mention as he really made our trip - his energy and positivity is infectious! (he makes everything fun!) ||An absolutely divine vacation. We will be back!

Some of the staff are great! There were three in particular that made our stay wonderful. However, there were some that just made me want to leave at that exact moment. The food at the buffet isn't great. Our first night there, a roach was cruising by us as we were eating and insects were found in our food. We went to have a conversation at the lobby (which during our 6 day stay, there was no supervision/ manager). They said what would you like me to do, as in trying to get us out of the way. There was one specific person that was so rude, and he works for the spa. The rest of the people in the spa are amazing, but this one person needs to be coached on customer service. The beach was warm but so many jellyfish. You're able to see that the other resort right by it has some type of restriction / net that could possible be for this. We had to walk across the hotel after being zapped by a jelly fish since the beach was always without any personnel from the resort itself. Honestly I would not recommend this place, even though it is not because of most of the staffs fault. Seems that it is just poor management.

Incredible resort. Very big at 1005 rooms. But it’s well laid out and never feels overcrowded. We had a diamond club oceanfront swim up room and it was perfect. Nice to relax in your own pool away from the bustle of the main pools.||All the restaurants are fantastic, never leaving you wanting more. We agree that Rio, Smoke, and Agave were our top picks. But also don’t miss out the Zen tepenyaki tables.||Diamond club upgrade was worth it. Faster private checkin, DC lounge with an incredible bartender Luis, DC lazy river area. And incredible service from our butlers Rene and Daniel.||Special shout outs to Guillermo and Omar in the Zen restaurant. Incredible show and great service. Kevin for organizing our Bali bed requests. Jorge at the pool ensuring we were never without a beverage. ||But really, every staff member went above and beyond for our entire two weeks.

We absolutely loved our stay! We came for our wedding and had Samuel as our wedding coordinator. He was amazing every step of the way and truly excellent at what he does. We were Preferred guests and enjoyed all the extra perks that came with that. Clever in the lobby bar was fantastic. We rented a cabana for 4 days, and everyone loved Alex, our server. He was amazing, always knew what we wanted, and always had a smile on his face. These are just a few standout people, but honestly, I don't have a single negative thing to say. Every worker was great, and the resort was very clean and fun for all, including our 2-year-old. We will most definitely come back!

The place was really, really nice, though the food was not stellar. We did the premium club and we’re really lucky to have María Merino be our concierge. It was my husband‘s birthday, and she made sure that her room got decorated, and she helped make sure he had a very special dinner. Our kid loved the Explorers Club and the swim up bar, lol. I definitely recommend this place for families. We took the little catamaran out and it was so beautiful to be in the ocean. The place was very, very clean and all the staff was so nice. The pools were fantastic.

Probably a 3.5 star place at best. If you've stayed at a 5 star resort before, this is a huge disappointment. Starting with the food; all the restaurants open at different times and if you don't go exactly when they open, it's an hour wait. They can't accommodate large families and if you have a larger family, they don't take reservations. Food quality is average for resort, nothing to comment on. Depending on what's going on at the resort, they just close restaurants, including the buffet making it very difficult to eat. Room service takes an hour and is very poor quality. In terms of the rooms, they were not cleaned daily. The beds were made once a day. Turn down service was hit or miss. We had to asked several times to restock the fridge. They kept taking our bottle water (we needed it for formula). Just not the 5 star standard. Service was okay. About half the staff seemed annoyed and that we were bothering them. We had to constantly request the things that were included with the cabanas and for the large party cabana. Club level ended up being a joke and was not the same as other resorts. The lounge was nice, but it's just a room to the side and the appetizers were only steamed veggies and salad. The only club restaurant always had a wait. We also had to continously request the items that were included with the club level. Anyone can access the club beach and we were never asked to show we were club. Overall, very much 3 star. Disappointment if you expect 5 star standard

Amazing stay. My wife and family went to Dreams Rivera Cancun for a destination wedding for my sister. Having never been to Mexico or an all inclusive resort before we were pleasantly surprised. Everyone on staff was very friendly and welcoming. I want to give a special acknowledgment to our room attendant Julieta, she was very friendly and accommodating and was there for any of our room needs such as fresh towels , turn down service ect.. Julieta was highlight of our stay as far as our room situation , though again every staff person there was great at their job from the moment we arrived to getting our bags out to transportation as we let. Thanks to all at this resort for to creating such a carefree and fun and atmosphere for everyday of our visit!

We just returned from our week long stay at the Splash Royalton and cannot speak highly enough about our experience. We traveled with 4 adults and 4 kids (ages 1, 2, 3 and 4). We had upgraded to the Diamond club and would absolutely recommend, mostly for the butler service. Our butlers, Iván and Enrique, were beyond fantastic and made our entire stay. They were both incredibly kind and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They helped us book every night for dinner reservations, which can be difficult because you are only allowed to book 2 days in advance. We didn’t have to worry about booking anything or getting the time we wanted, they made it happen. Our room was stocked with plenty of bottled water, towels and snacks for the kids the entire week. Anytime we needed anything, they promptly responded. We loved the resort, the diamond club separate check in area, the amenities, the many restaurant and bar options, but it wouldn’t have been the same without Enrique and Iván. Highly recommend the butler service with these two!

Yelp
Everything went well, amazing service, accommodation, beaches, and recreational options Went there w a group of 30 for my daughter's wedding, GREAT VALUE, and i highly recommend it!

Yelp
An overall great experience at Dreams Riviera! Went from Thursday to Sunday with a group of friends... arranged transportation to and from airport in advance and took about 30 mins to get there. The resort itself has a good amount of pool space -- lots of activities during the day like sand volleyball and food pop-ups. Angie was an awesome and fun activity organizer at Dreams. At the swim up bar, Wilbert was very personable and the whole staff made great drinks. The spa was really enjoyable - highly recommend treating yourself there. At night time the lobby is popping with people listening to music and playing cards. Restaurants were just OK which is the main reason I am only giving 4 stars... excellent variety but definitely catered to serving quantity over quality. The French restaurant and Hibachi were fun and recommend making resos. Desserts were sub-par everywhere. Overall - a good family friendly resort and decent bang for the buck for an all-inclusive. You will see 1-2 weddings/ per day while there which being friendly people from all over!

Yelp
Nice rooms, excellent staff, mediocre service, terrible food. I stayed here when attending a music festival at a the Sapphire resort just up the beach. My room was spacious and clean, albeit a bit run down, but had excellent views and plenty of amenities. The staff seemed to go above and beyond in most cases , though it did require leaving two tips in the fridge with notes attached to get them to properly stock the bottles water. The one big weakness of this resort is the food. It's just not good. I'm a mediocre cook, but am easily more qualified to be the executive chef here than whomever they presently employ. It's not an exaggeration to say that after three days here, the best thing I've eaten is a plain reheated hamburger. Their seafood is flavorless, they don't use any spices of any kind (not even black pepper, so far as I can tell), their pizza makes microwave pizza look good, and their pasta sauces are just plain (I asked for the best thing on the menu at their Oceana restaurant, and they brought me buttered pasta with some frozen shrimp thrown in). Finally, for an "all inclusive" resort boasting 24/7 room service, they have very little on their room service menu, and the wait time is ALWAYS 60 minutes. So it's not really an option. Nice rooms, but if they want to be a successful resort, they really need to step up their food game. It's easy to make cheap food that actually tastes like something, but they just haven't bothered.

Yelp
I have frequently stayed at Dreams Resorts across Mexico, and they've always been my top recommendation. So, it was no surprise when I suggested Dreams Riviera Cancun for my sister's wedding. Unfortunately, this stay was an immense disappointment due to the subpar service we received. The hospitality, once a hallmark of Dreams, was sorely lacking. Most upsetting was the way they treated my mother, the mother of the bride. Daniel, the night manager, was rude and condescending when we sought help and accommodations--a shocking departure from the service I've come to expect. On the wedding day itself, my sister's room was not cleaned until 45 minutes before the ceremony, even though the entire bridal party was supposed to prepare there. To make matters worse, her fiancé had paid extra for her room to be decorated before the ceremony, which was completely overlooked. The wedding coordinator, Samuel, was difficult to reach and showed no sense of urgency or hospitality regarding the state of the bride's room. This lack of organization and care added unnecessary stress to what should have been a seamless day. Overall, I regret inviting my entire family--comprising lawyers, doctors, and executives--to this resort. Dreams Riviera Cancun failed on so many levels, and as a long-standing customer of Dreams Resorts, I am deeply disappointed. They have lost a loyal guest. Don't waste your money the views are beautiful but service and food are lacking

Yelp
This resort was excellent. The grounds are kept immaculate and the employees are constantly giving 100% to make sure that your time is a great time and are never wanting for anything. The pools and beach both had plenty of seating (people do throw towels down around 7/8am to reserve chairs). My wife were able to always find a spot near the pool we liked. I do imagine though that it may be a bit more hectic during their prime season. There's many included activities available to guests and one of my wife's and my favorite was the bike tour into puerto Morelos. I would def come back to this resort and after staying here I'm now considering staying at other dreams resorts in the future. The resort seemed to have a wedding every night but they never felt intrusive to the guests. This place really knows how to do a destination wedding and I can see why people choose to do them here.

Yelp
It was good and service was excellent. One knock is the resort is a little small but we had a blast. Clever called off the last day and he was the best bartender around.

Tricia W.

Yelp
The stay and hotel service is superb. What I'm having a problem with is the World of Hyatt customer service. I have been trying to get a refund owed me and book a complimentary 2 night stay I was awarded and have not been able to do so. I've called person stated she put in a claim and someone will call me back in 48 hours, it has been a week and I haven't received a call. I've called the hotel left messages, and no one has returned my call. Anyone staying at hotel if you're approached and asked to rake a tour of other resorts Don't Do It, they make promises they don't keep.

Yelp
We have stayed at many all inclusives and this was a good one, though not the best. Pros: -A ton of pools! If you're a pool person, you'll love it. - 3 weddings a day happen on the property so plenty of happy people in love and you can watch them all -Our garden room really was beautiful, one of our favorites. -The entertainment crew in the day time really is amazing. They work so hard to keep you active, involve you in fun activities, and you can tell they're really having fun. -The property is so pretty. Lots of lighting, greenery, tropical trees and flowers, and a beautiful little walk to the gym/spa. Cons: - The water isn't pretty blue, so know that going into it. Riviera maya is super seaweedy, and though they clean the beach daily, it still gets in and isn't pretty. If you're a beach person, you might not love this. -The food is mediocre- which was shocking! We loved the food in Dreams Cabo so we are really looking forward to the food, But here- meh. The hamburger at the pool cafe was my Favorite thing I ate all week. -The drive up to the resort isn't anything special. It actually feels a little sketch and not as nice, but once you get inside the gates it's pretty. - 3 weddings a day happen on the property haha Soo some restaurants and areas aren't open all the time or close early

Yelp
The food is terrible at this resort. We got sick from eating at the Mexican restaurant El Patio. At the gift shop the next morning we were 1 of 3 guests looking for pepto. They ate at El Patio as well. The buffet was also very bad. The asian restaurant was so hard to get into. Then they just closed it on a regular day to seat the carry over from the crappy buffet. The reservations app is not updated regularly. It sucked!!!!! NOT WORTH THE PRICE!!!!

Samuel S.

Yelp
As we were having dinner a huge roach was passing by and we wanted to get up and leave the world Cafè. Then we were understanding and said that's just a mistake, then there was an insect of the plate. We spoke to management and they asked how we would like to be helped.

Yelp
We had never been to Cancun, and chose Dreams Riviera Cancun after a pretty extensive evaluation of every resort on the coast from Cancun to Tulum. Turned out to be a good choice. The resort is well maintained, they do a great job with the landscaping, and the pools were great. Seemed to be plenty of lounge chairs around the pools, hot tubs, and the beach. But if you want a prime one, you better get out there early and lay your stuff on one. The good ones were usually gone by 8:00. We had an issue with the room they initially assigned to us, due to the plunge pool being right by a very busy sidewalk. You could literally step from the pool to the sidewalk. But the Mgt team moved us to a better location, literally a few hours from when we made the request. They were very accommodating. We had a room with a plunge pool, which had a great little patio area. Would have been awesome in the summer, but the plunge pool water was very cold in February! But we enjoyed the room. Lots of space, nice size shower, and plenty of room with the dual sinks spaced far apart. Ceiling fan was a nice surprise too. The restaurants were the best we have had at an all inclusive. Out of the 7 at which we had dinner, 2 were okay, 3 were very good, and 2 were great. All the bars were good. Plenty of fun, fruity drinks on their special menu. Seemed a little light on the alcohol, but you could always get more. We also tried room service once, which was very good. They showed up right on time. For the most part, the staff are very friendly and helpful, especially in the nicer restaurants and around the pools. We had a couple who didn't seem to want to smile, but most of them were nice and happy. I took plenty of pesos with us to hand out tips, and even though you not expected to tip, I really do think it helps, and the workers do appreciate it. One thing I think Dreams did well, was put on nightly entertainment, either at a makeshift stage they put up near the lobby, poolside, in their little conference room theater, or the live musicians who played nightly in the main open hall. These are not Vegas type shows, but they were entertaining, and we appreciated the effort. I think we made 3 of the shows, and saw a couple live music sets. We did not do any excursions, and honestly had no interest in leaving the property. We got enough enjoyment just hanging by the pool or on the beach, hitting the restaurants & bars, and taking in the shows that they offered. We're not really ocean people, and it's a good thing. We were told that they have a daily problem every Feb thru mid March, with seagrass floating up on the beach. It's everywhere, and you see them send out the workers and tractors everyday to rake it up and haul it away. And the next day, the water line of the beach is covered again. But if you like getting in the water, there were plenty of people who would just walk through it and get to clean water about 10 yards from short. Just not us. Would I go to this resort again? Probably not, because there are dozens and dozens of options in Cancun. But would I recommend it to a friend or family member going to Cancun? Yes, I would.

Hijab S.

Yelp
If you plan to have a stress-free trip, please book elsewhere. It's a beautiful resort but unfortunately the service was incredibly horrendous & disappointing. It was seven of us traveling and we even booked to be part of the "preferred club" which is supposedly a higher level of service/amenities. We had issues from the start, almost everyday a new situation arouse. The first day we got there, our rooms were not ready by check-in time. At first, we were told it would take another 40 min, which soon turned into an additional one hour wait. We traveled with a 9 month-old, so you can imagine how uncomfortable that situation was. When we spoke to one of the "managers" Rafael, as opposed to solving the issue he began arguing with us. His level of unprofessionalism was absolutely appalling. He proceeded to argue with us in front of other families, provided no solutions & even went as far as to say, we had no choice but to wait and if we kept asking for a solution, he would "ignore us and go on to the next customer". Instead of calming the situation, he did the exact opposite. We kept asking to be given another room for the meantime since we were traveling with a baby. We wanted to freshen him up and lay him down as he was sweating, overtired and exhausted. Yet Rafael refused, stating it was not possible. We asked to speak to someone else multiple times. He claimed they called a "Jose Powell" who is supposedly another manager in charge but he never showed up. To make matters worse, the last room was ready by 5PM. We never got updates on the status of the room and we were never told when it was ready. We had to continuously call in order to obtain the last room key. Rafael really left a bad taste in our mouth, especially with how arrogant and disrespectful he was. Great way to start our vacation!! In general, hospitality was very inconsistent. Some of the workers were great, while others not so much. The rooms were nice but the mini fridge isn't stocked with drinks (i.e., water, sodas) on a daily basis. If you want clean sheets (without stains), you also have to call, when it should be a given that you'd receive them. I can honestly say I would not come back and I would not recommend this resort to anyone. As nice as it is, you will end up incredibly frustrated. When you spend as much as you do for a luxury 5-star resort (& to be part of the preferred club) you expect to relax and have a great time. It was a mediocre experience at best.

Jurel H.

Yelp
Dreams Riviera is a nice beautiful relaxing family resort. The employees are wonderful, and their spa center is amazing. They have 3 large pools, one being a swim up bar pool. The beach is well maintained. But the time of year we visited (Late November) the beach water was full of seaweed. Because of this we were advised at times to not enter. So your main time was spent, in one of the swimming pools. There are about 5-7 actual restaurants and 4 bars at this location. The food was decent, if you understand that other countries foods do not taste like American food. Then you won't be disappointed. I feel this resort's biggest problem is, they lack activities for the guest. Now they do have one performance or activity a day. But for the size of the resort, they should've had at least 3-4 things for people to do other than swimming in the pool. Yes you can do excursions, but they could've had several free activities. Such as, interactive shows, more cookouts, hobbies and crafts, and even a small animal show. I'm not sure if the lack of activities, was done purposefully. Because they spent quite a bit of time, trying to promote you to visit their newly built resort 10mins away. For an additional $199 you could spend two nights at their new resort, and they would shuttle you there. Another disappointing thing was, after 8-8:30 the pools close down as well as several bars. Finding food during certain times can be a challenge, because of the time slots the restaurants are scheduled on. For example, the pool area has 3 restaurants. But only 1 or 2 maybe open. If your not into hotdogs and hamburgers, your left with one restaurant then. I also feel this resort caters to weddings, more than the regular guest. They have about 2 weddings a day, and because of this. Right away you notice, that sections of the beach/pool areas are no longer accessible to you. They literally move your things, and tell you that you have to leave the area for the wedding. They also close restaurants off from you as well. If your looking for a wedding destination, I feel you hit the jackpot with this resort. They accommodate the wedding party very well. As for the rooms, they could use a deep cleaning. One to many stains in the linen, along with to many blonde hairs (I'm bald, wife has black hair) laying around. The fixtures could be updated as well. I still found this resort good, because I accepted what it really was. A wedding destination resort, with a relaxing pool area.

Erica C.

Yelp
Terrible experience!!! If you want a relaxing, restful, family experience then do not stay here!!!! There was a wedding each night in the main courtyard and pool area facing over 250 rooms including our pool plunge room which was considered an upgraded room. There was not any regard for the guests NOT attending the weddings! No one seemed to care that we did not want to hear loud, thumping DJ music from 7-11pm at night right in front of our hotel room...not to mention the weddings began around 5pm so for 6 straight hours. I want my money back!!!!! Who is the wedding planner here to have no regard for other guests!!! This hotel should let patrons know when selecting their rooms that there could be a wedding reception taking place right outside their room! Simple request! This hotel brags that it is family friendly, but this must Mean they are only family friendly during the day, but at 4pm if there is a wedding then you can expect for no one to care if you want to rest, sleep, put your young children down to sleep, etc. Restaurant were also terrible and food was not good! Preferred Club food was terrible, not fresh and refilled. I have stayed at Dreams before and enjoyed it, but I will not stay here again!

Yelp
I just got back from Mexico. I love being there. I made the mistake of booking this place it was not a dream but a nightmare. We arrived there only to wait for our bags to come to the room but after waiting we had to go get them ourselves. The room was no better than motel 6. The room looked outdated and dingy. We even paid extra for VIP and we were so disappointed. The grounds themselves are very nice but the rooms leave alot to be desired. The food is so nasty in every restaurant. They need to really take a hard look at the food it left alot to be desired. The phone in the room was not working when we arrived neither were the outlets. The staff really tries and they are mostly really nice. I was very disappointed. They really need to change the pictures on their site. You do not get what you see.

Steven R.

Yelp
As I was checking out, I did not have a exit card which no one told me I needed. I stayed at the club premier level. The attendant was very rude and said "I will not let you leave without the card." Eventually he told me f you!!!! Horrible person and terrible way to end the stay. Management should be ashamed that staff tell patrons f%$/ you.

Carol C.

Yelp
We had an incident at the hotel with cockroaches, the food is not great and make sure you're ready for a time share pitch. For such an expensive stay, we would only expect the best and the two cockroaches we found in our room are unacceptable. It made for a very stressful stay. We were trying to resolve things at the hotel and the front desk said because they weren't paid yet by Destination Wewddings they could not do anything to help. On the other side Destination Weddings said, of course the hotel was paid as they wouldn't allow people to stay if it wasn't. Trying to get someone who could help us at the hotel was super frustrating and posting this as all they wanted to know is who we spoke to at the hotel. Please find photos and a video attached.

Yelp
My room was advertised as ocean view, that's not the room I received. Room service was consistently terrible (food arrived cold, and 3 hours late at one point) buffet food could not be packaged and brought to the room as an alternative . Shower water had a pungent odor. I suggest many of the other resorts nearby (I've been to a few others and the services were exponentially better)

Aspen B.

Yelp
The worst hotel we've ever stayed at. The service. The aggressive salesmen. The HORRIBLE food. The room. Literally everything was a nightmare from start to finish. We were there for a wedding or we would've left the first day. Our room was an upgraded "ocean view balcony", you could see a tiny sliver of ocean from one tiny spot on the balcony. The room overlooked a concrete walkway, it was set far behind the pools and the pools were behind the ocean. We asked for an actual ocean view that we had paid for and were told that this was the only ocean view and that no refunds or discounts because the "website photos weren't always accurate". The food was mostly inedible, and I will happily eat Taco Bell and my husband eats basically anything. After specifically ordering bottled water at one of their "premiere" restaurants our entire table was served tap water and all 7 member were ill. The aggressive sales pitches from the moment you walk in the lobby truly ruin what is otherwise a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. The lobby/pool area are 5 stars, as well as the bartenders. Everything else ruined what has the potential to be a lovely destination.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
This place is truly a DREAM Beautiful breathtaking beach with the whitest sand! Everything at this resort is clean and the people that work here making it truly special. I love the activities and had a great time today at the ceviche making class by the pool. There's a decent gym got a good workout in :) food has been decent so far the buffet doesn't look great presentation wise but the foods not horrible, For resort food I would have to say it's pretty good. This place is definitely relaxing and a great place for couples or kids. If you like to stay up late/drink party this isn't the place for you. Everything is great and popping in the day but at night it definitely winds down pretty early and there's not much going on. This is my first time in Mexico and I can't wait to add to this review when I leave. This place is truly paradise! Update: my favorite restaurant here is definitely Himitsu THe food amazing along with the server Carlos he gave us everything we wanted and we're not the easiest customers my favorite dish is the grouper, pad Thai and Tom Kha soup!!!

Yelp
Love the resort went there for a week. Our first room had a bathroom leak so that's why it's a 4 star review but the got us a new room almost immediately. The staff were so friendly. There were not a lot of intoxicated people in the day time. Would not recommend going from may to July cause there is a lot of seaweed there and it smell pretty bad. There are a lot of little crab during the night on the pool deck but it was fun to watch them move around.

Yelp
This was my first Dreams experience so I can not compare it to others - but I had an ok time here. Check in time was quick - we did arrive mid day on a Wednesday so that was probably why. The group that we were with were all upgraded to "preferred" so we had our own check in lobby which was nice seeing as it had food and drinks available for my two cranky kids. Our bags were delivered to our room - which was very nice for the price point. We had an ocean view and a hot tub on our balcony. I did at first wish we had done the plunge pool, but after walking the property, I am glad we didn't as it's not too private and you would have to keep the room curtains closed at all times to not have anyone peer in. I loved the room, the shower, the room service and the turn down service. I liked the pools as well. The water was a little cold but as long as I stayed in, I was good. Drinks are on the lighter side - which is pretty typical for all inclusive resorts. One reason for the three stats instead of five is the food. The only restaurant that I actually liked the food at was the hibachi restaurant. The other negative part is that they had multiple weddings going throughout each day and the music was super loud that it was hard to fall asleep until the party died down. Other than the food and the constant stream of weddings, I had a good time.

Yelp
On 12/10 I accidentally left my Kindle in my room upon departure. I called the hotel directly, and they had found it. It also had my name and phone number written on the cover. I asked 'Souki' (Concierge 2) to let me know how to pay to have it mailed back to me. She said she would have her supervisor reach out to me. I got no call back. I wrote and called again twice. I spoke with another concierge who said he would let me know the process by email. Never got the email. So the follow-up on promises was non-existent. As far as the hotel goes, all the employees were absolutely great aside from the CoCo cafe where they seem to do no side work during lulls in patronage. The tables always needed either to be cleared or if cleared by the customer, they needed to be wiped down. If that was the worst thing, one can't complain! I thought this resort was clean and the grounds were well maintained. As in most all-inclusive resorts, the food was so so. There was always something decent in the buffet, and they worked hard in the speciality restaurants. Also, every morning there is a crew with a big tractor that clears the seaweed etc from the tide line on the beach. If you're a drinker, take note that some of the higher end liquors are poured only at certain bars. All staff was friendly and polite. HOPE I get my Kindle back someday.

Yelp
I am currently at Dreams and have been here a total of 2 hours. Within these 2 hours I discovered the phone in my room doesn't work, I didn't receive what I asked for via room service, a staff-member just walked into my room while I was in it, without knocking, and I have had 3 people come in and tryand help me to heat the room up because it's freezing. In the end, I was told it would take hours and I'm better off just turning the air off and opening the balcony door. It is windy and loud, but is warmer. Just wishing that the room's heat could go above 50 degrees so I could shower comfortably instead of freezing on the way in and out. Do not recommend other than the grounds look pretty and grand, but the service and basics leave more to be desired.

Yelp
NOT FOR HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE This resort is beautiful, landscaping is gorgeous and the workers are quite efficient, HOWEVER, if you travel with a disability, this is not the place for you. Oh they have ramps all over the place, but now nearly enough rooms. I have MS with leg weakness. We booked an accessible king bed room with a plunge pool. I was so excited to be able to use a plunge pool, but: 1. When we arrived they put us in a non-accessible room (Tuesday) 2 expected us to stay in a non accessible room until the plunge pool accessible king opens up on Friday, we leave on Sunday. 3. We found out that out of 400+ rooms, only 4 are accessible and 2 are the upgraded plunge pool rooms. That's not even 1%. 4. Even though the plunge pool we booked was advertised as accessible, the plunge pool is not and the resort (owned by Hyatt) unapologetically told me that I would not be able to use the pool anyway because it's not equipped for people with special needs. So basically we paid for a room that we can't use every inch of! Now to rectify the issue management tried the convert a non accessible king plunge pool room into an accessible by adding grab bars, an old commode chair with no rubber stops on the legs so it kept moving on me, a shower bench and a ramp so I can wheel out to the patio, but still couldn't use the plunge pool. Because the room was originally a non accessible the doors weren't widened and the space was really large enough for pivoting with a walker so I fell once. Also, we were promised a special in room breakfast which we never received despite confirming it the day before with one of the mangers, Fidel, who never even gave the order to room service so he gets an F. I guess he has the right name. Christian the top manger tried his best and I give him an A for effort but I'm greatly disappointed that Hyatt doesn't seem to view people with disabilities as valued consumers. We spend out hard earned money like everyone else and should be treated with the same respect. Bottom line, IMHO this resort gets a grade D. The only reason it doesn't get another F is because the staff is quite efficient.

Yelp
Extremely irritated by their service. Restaurants don't take reservations and even when you show up early, the wait time is still over an hour. We were told that we can be seated right away only if we purchase a bottle of wine. I understand that they're pushing to sell bottles but that does not excuse poor service.

Yelp
We arrived to this hidden gem on Thursday August 18th for our 2nd visit (we were there last August) had the GREATEST time!! Everything from check in, to a room upgrade, sparkling wine in the room without asking and even the preferred beach bag was there too was nothing short of perfection. We have a special bond with this well maintained, cozy resort, it's where we go , just us, to reconnect and have some fun in our FAVORITE country! We love relaxing by the pool most of the time but also got some beach time in. It was soooo hot on the beach so it didn't last too long. The pool bartender who stuck out the most was Jose! He was so attentive and friendly and remembered our names immediately. Santiago was our beach server and my gosh he was amazing. Such a happy man always smiling and so attentive as well. Our 1st evening we dined at Oceana and it was fabulous. Daniel and Jesus were INCREDIBLE servers and made our dining experience top notch! They had some chef specials done for us which were excellent. We loved having cocktails at the preferred club and Octavio is by far one of the best bartenders we have ever encountered. He makes a tasty espresso martini. His smile and upbeat personality is refreshing. We visited him nightly! We enjoy the preferred club restaurant over the buffet for breakfast and Roberto was our server, he's so funny and smiles non stop!! My only complaint is that the restaurant is only open for 1.5 hours and it gets crowded however we did throughly enjoy the saxophone live music while sipping mimosas! Very nice touch! When we did go to the buffet one morning I was looking for a bagel with no luck, our server Jesus got me a toasted bagel in minutes and with a smile and kept my water filled to the top which was so appreciated as I was dehydrated from a late night out! We had couples massages which were lovely Jessica is my FAVORITE (I met her last time we visited the resort) and my hubby had Nataly and she too was fabulous! Guadalupe cleaned our room daily and was wonderful!! The servers at all restaurants were great, Izael was our server at Portofino he was A+ and the mussels appetizer was my favorite! Himitsu was perfect, we didn't do hibachi this time. Luis was our server and was great! Boudreaux was delicious too and our server Silvano was attentive and kind but it was hot inside. They need to cool off that restaurant a bit. The entertainment crew was so much fun! Marco was so energetic, I just wanted to get up and dance as his energy was contagious!! We hung out at Desires at night and Alberto never let us have an empty glass. We enjoyed the merlot over the Cabernet. We met Liz who was with UVC and she was great, she explained the Hyatt merger throughly. All in all we absolutely love this resort and will continue to visit annually! The management has this resort operating so smooth and flawlessly. It's a pleasure visiting this resort as it's a guaranteed excellent time.

Yelp
This is my 2nd time at this resort! After a horrible experience at the 1st hotel our travel agent booked for us we requested to come to the DREAMS because we knew the service would be what we expect on a vacation. The room was great. Amazing view, food was consistently good, and the concierge Cristian was the BEST! The only thing that was different from our last stay was the charge for a cabana on the beach/pool was additional! Music playing all night even though it seems they shut things down around 11! Fun for couples, girls trip or family!

Yelp
I came here for my friend's wedding and it was my first destination wedding experience. I have mixed reviews. This resort is HUGE and with that, know that there are crowds EVERYWHERE AS Mentioned this is a family resort, so be mindful that there will be young children around. The concierge service can use some help... like a lot of help. They were either short staffed or oblivious to what was going on but they weren't rude about it at all and tried their very best. The Covid testing is a hot mess ... again concierge is completely clueless. I went through this long process of making an appointment to not need it in the end. Speaking of process, that check in process is no joke. Way too long. It took me at least thirty minutes to check in smh. The rooms were well cleaned and maintained daily. No masks were worn and not enforced. The cafe closed at 8pm which was early considering the size and population of the resort. The speciality resorts were all booked out but alas, it's not all bad... the spa was SUPERB!! My technician Mariela was a magician! I felt like a queen! I did the fish pedicure and tension relief! The spa was the brightest point... Would I stay here again? Prolly not but I give an A for effort.. would be better if it wasn't so many people

Yelp
The family and I came to this resort in November for a wedding. Everything was going great until my wife and I had an incident. We were showering and I decided to sit on what looked like a shower chair. I've done that couple of times so I didn't think much of it. All of a sudden, the solid chunk of stone I was sitting on fell and my self and the stone landed on my wife's feet. I sustained some abrasions on my rear shoulders and my wife feet were all bruised and swollen and are still swollen to this day. The" medics " showed up to assess the situation, but said if we wanted to get further evaluated by their doctor, we needed to pay first before being seen, and or taken to a hospital to get checked out. You are too satisfied with the type of care that we received, so we got a hold of the resident manager Hector Perez. We have been emailing and calling him for the past couple weeks and he just keeps having us go around and loops and not addressing the issue. Personally, I would not go back to this location. To other folks that plan on going to this resort, I would much rather have you guys turning around and going to a different location. The service wasn't the best and the fact that they didn't help us resolve was a big huge negative for us.

Yelp
We stayed in this resort for a wedding and everything was an absolute dream. The resort is beautiful, the views are amazing and staff is wonderful! Everything was great overall but the reason for not giving them a 5 star is due to the housekeeping staff. We were VERY uncomfortable with the way that we were treated. On day one of our stay we had our do not disturb sign up and heard a knock at the door. We were making our way over to the door when the housekeeping lady named Gaby just opened our door. My husband was still laying in bed so I kindly told her we didn't need service and that our sign was up. She came into the room and closed the door behind her trying to make small talk. We were both EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE. Day 2 we still have our sign up, when we here a knock at our door. We had just hoped out the shower so we were not going to open the door. Not even 30 seconds later she opens the door and clearly sees we are standing there in towels. I kindly tell her we do not need service but she doesn't get it. She stays in the room closing the door behind her AGAIN and continues to try and make small talk. At this point I was super uncomfortable but didn't want to be rude so I kindly asked her to leave. She wouldn't get the point that we didn't want service and she want even cleaning she was just standing there trying to talk to us. It made us very uncomfortable because 1 we had the sign up that said do not disturb and she still disrupted our stay. I know that it wasn't language barrier because I spoke to her in Spanish. I hope no one has to experience this because it's very uncomfortable and unprofessional on her part.

Yelp
Would love to give a rave review but there are just too many bummers that prevent me to. My family and I came here for the week to get some rest and relax and we did, kind of. During the day it's pretty loud at the pool area and at night (every night) there is a super loud wedding reception. Usually from about 8pm-11:30,12 complete with fire dances and live drums and DJs with whistles. We had an upgraded room with ocean views. You would think management would try and cater to those who pay more for their rooms but... Place is pretty nice and well kept. We did have a few malfunctions in our room. The safe had to be repaired before we could use it. The door to the closet was broken. Room service never got any of our orders correct probably because the language barrier but it was a good effort. Food here in the restaurants and with room, service and poolside is all fair. Nothing to write home about. But alas it's all included. The rooms are nice but when the neighbor comes back late at night. The doors are so loud that it wakes everyone after every time they shut it, including room service, or any stewards coming to the rooms (ours tried to come clean at 9pm) if you come to party hard with your friends and get wasted then you'll be in heaven otherwise go somewhere else and get a restful vacation. Side note: kids zone (explorers) was awesome. My kid loved it. So, kudos to them. Don't get me wrong it wasn't a totally bad time, there's gonna be challenges anywhere you go right? But we'll prob try a different place next time.

Yelp
This place is a joke of a resort. I'm baffled by the reviews that suggest that the food is good. High school cafeterias have better food. The all-inclusive alcohol is the very bottom of the shelf. The 24 hour room service takes over an hour for an order of fries and the food tastes like it was picked up off the side of the road. When I arrived the sheets on my bed were stained...very stained. This place is awful. Save your money. Go elsewhere.

Yelp
Just returned from Dreams Riviera Cancun a few days ago - we were at this resort for a wedding (we stayed for 6 days). We upgraded to the Preferred Club Ocean View King bed option. We were impressed with the room and amenities in the room. Our view from the 3rd floor was to a palm tree, but enough of a view to see the pool and a bit of the ocean - not directly on the side of the resort to solely face the ocean. Our room had a huge walk-in shower and then a tub outside on the balcony. As far as the check-in, when we arrived with our group we were whisked away to the Preferred Club club of the resort to check-in in a more personal, secluded area. We were greeted with a drink and walked through everything and then escorted to our room. Very impressed! As preferred guests, we were given a private breakfast during our stay (scheduled at our discretion) as well as a bottle of alcohol (we chose tequila, but it was just Jose Cuervo so we never even touched it during our stay), and even choice of bed pillows. You also get access to the preferred lounge for drinks and snacks during your stay as well as access to Seaside restaurant for an ala carte breakfast versus the buffet. Food: by far our favorite place was the hibachi restaurant - definitely recommend! Lunch options were okay, breakfast only option is the buffet which I found to be hit and miss. Got the job done but wasn't anything to rave over. They really push you to use the app during your stay, which in theory is nice but we found that none of the times for the restaurants matched or even the schedule of what was open and what wasn't which was really frustrating as far as planning where we wanted to eat on which night. This resort is definitely known for the weddings it can host, which the one we attended we have no complaints! However, the host up to 2 weddings a night which drastically affects the restaurant services and openings. There are many different set ups they can do for weddings and we found that some of them are literally in the middle of the pool or main steps so you feel as if you're intruding when you're trying to walk through certain areas. The wedding reception we attended was on the boardwalk of the beach between the pool and ocean and up until we were sat at the tables guests from the resort were walking through the entire set up. We wish they would have roped off the immediate area to keep it only accessible to wedding guests and not continue to act as a walk through. We booked our excursions through Amstar upon arrival and have no complaints with them! They were also responsible for our travel to and from the resort and airport and they were great! The pools are nice! Kiddy pool, another pool with a volleyball net and activities, and then the infinity pool which they did water areorbics and other activities in as well. The infinity pool is plenty big and it also hosts the swim up bar, we spent most of our time there. Overall, for the price I feel as if food could have been much better. The workers were amazing (S/O to Clever in the lobby bar for being phenomenal during our entire stay). The wedding itself was great, but how they affect the rest of the resort can be annoying. Plenty of kids, plenty of activities during the day (beach volleyball, water volleyball, ping pong, bags tournament, etc.), nice entertainment at night (fire show, circus-like acts, bands), lacking a bit of a night life (only on club - and I wouldn't much call it a club).

Yelp
The good - pools are nice. Rooms are good. Smaller resort which is convenient. The bad - the food. Breakfast you can find some things.. gets harder for lunch.. and dinner.. dinner is consistently terrible. Cheap ingredients, cold food, no drink menu unless they are pumping you for the upgraded (meaning additional) drink offerings. The ugly - the food! This gets a double terrible rating from me! How can you go to a resort in Mexico and have terrible Mexican food? No spice.. no flavor... budget at its best! This isn't a cheap hotel. There is absolutely zero thought or care in the food. Had to be the absolute worst food I've ever come across. All restaurants are equally as bad. Nachos with cheese out of a can? Ewwwww! Come on now. I EXPECT a hell of a lot better effort from a Hyatt property charging $400-500 a night. Did not appreciate getting the timeshare pitch after just arriving and traveling for 8 hours! Pass!

Yelp
We attended a wedding at this resort this past summer. The two stars are for the wedding day itself! Everything was set up beautifully from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour and the reception! Everything else was just meh. Checking in to the hotel took FOREVER!!! Slowest place I've ever been to. Our room was ok, nothing special. Drinks were alright. The food was the worst I've had at any resort. I'm big on buffets.. it was annoying having to wait for an employee to serve you especially when they were busy doing other things in the kitchen. Their food selection was very minimal and not good tasting at all! My entire family woke up sick to our stomachs on the day of the wedding. My daughter ended up with a bad bacterial rash all over her face and body (assuming from the one time she played in the dirty water). We have never gotten sick at any other resort in Mexico besides here. The beach had tons of seaweed so we had no choice but to stay in the pools. Very disappointed with this resort.. the only beautiful thing was the wedding day! We will definitely never return to this resort.

Yelp
My my my where to begin. With the long drawn out check in process, to no turn down, to the frigid cold pools, to the almost inedible food at the buffet, to the utter lack of customer service. I have stayed at dreams before but haven't experienced this. My family booked out over 25 rooms for my uncles birthday. They even upgraded everyone during the booking to "preferred". Even with this upgrade, it just felt like we weren't treated as such. The mini bar was rarely restocked, the food was nearly inedible and unrecognizable. There were flies on the fruits at the buffet. The dessert selection was an offering of stale desserts. There was a guacamole station with no chips or tortillas? Water was hardly refilled at dinners, so much so my daughter went completely pale after being outdoors for dinner for 1.5 hrs. I had to request iced water I asked for three bottles and received 1 cold water and 2 warm bottles. The water in the pools was frigid. My daughter was shivering-if this truly is a family friendly resort some thought has to go into the comfort of children in pools. I have done my fair share of traveling and exploring all inclusives. This is just not it. I would never stay here again. I would try other resorts that may treat you better/keep in mind childrens needs/the needs of individuals given such warm temperatures. Oh and dinner at oceana meant strong disgusting smells of seaweed. It took all of me to not vomit during dinner. Go elsewhere is my recommendation :)

Yelp
Came here for a wedding. The actual wedding itself was beautiful and the workers were very friendly. The facility itself was a bit old and outdated. Our initial room had a mildew smell to the AC and the AC Didn't maintain a cold temperature. Food was below average. But i have to say that their water and ice were safe to drink. No problems with their drinks what so ever. We had 50+ people stay at the resort and no one got sick from the water. The food on the other had quickly became a problem. Taste and variety alone are enough to keep me away. Upgraded my room for a couple hundred bucks and later found out other guests got the exact same room without an upgrade. Very disappointed in that aspect. Got a cabana next to the beach for a day for about $25. The guy haggled with me for the price. The following day came back to another guy and he told me the lowest he could go was $40. Not a fan of the irregular pricing. All inclusive, so drinks were included. Tipped the servers a couple bucks regularly but it didn't change the service what so ever lol. Overall, plenty of other all inclusive resorts around. I'll try my hand at the other places next time!

Yelp
By far the worst thing here is the food. This resort is very mediocre and lame. If your looking for entertainment and relaxation please go elsewhere. "You have been warned"!!! If you're expecting a clean clear blue beach forget about it. The beach is one of the dirtiest beaches I've ever seen and it smells horrible. The staff is friendly I must admit... there isn't much to do here at this resort and not much things to look at... save your money and go somewhere else to save the disappointment... the rooms however isn't that bad and it's pretty comfortable... the drinks is watered down and unsatisfying. Did I mentioned how horrible the food here is. I can't stress it enough on how bad the food is. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner was the worst thing I have ever slithered down my throat..

Yelp
This is one the most lovely Dreams Resort location in Mexico! It's much smaller but clean - the pools and restaurants are beautiful, the private cottages are lovely and the service is good. Overall, the resort is a three star for amenities but the rooms need to be cleaned and remodeled - the connecting doors were broken and the elevators were always being service.

Yelp
This property has so much potential for improvement! My boyfriend and I went for a wedding (with 150+ guests) and we all had similar feedback. I'm not sure if my experience was because of covid / post-covid. Hotel Grounds: Beautiful hotel grounds, when you come in there is a very impressive and well-maintained lobby with great views going out onto the property. I would recommend booking a preferred room as you have your own preferred lounge for check-in and for snacks and drinks. We were greeted immediately by a friendly associate who took our bags and then escorted us to the preferred lounge for check-in. Room: I would highly recommend booking a preferred room on the ground floor with a swim-up pool and jacuzzi outside. The rooms are spacious, well maintained, just a great place to relax overall. The only complaint I had was that the bed was not comfortable and seem to have pockets in it where we would sink into. The bathroom was great, double sink, jacuzzi, shower, everything you need and good on space. You have a flat screen tv, mini bar, and just a great place to relax on your own private patio. Spa: The spa by far was my favorite part of the property, we had a great hydrotherapy experience which lasted about 50 minutes. I definitely recommend you book this, it's also included complimentary when you book a preferred room which is absolutely amazing! Employees: The employees were incredibly pleasant and there to serve. Everyone would always say good morning, my pleasure, ask you if you needed anything, and just make sure you are taking care of. Shout out to Carlos at the preferred bar who was our go-to guy, and he was amazing! As well as Israel who took care of us and would get us drinks as we relaxed by our plunge pool. Food & Beverage: I don't even know where to start with this, the food and drinks were the biggest disappointment of the trips. I've been to Mexico about 8 times and this is the first time at an all-inclusive that I would go to bed hungry, did not want to eat, and basically felt like I was being poisoned everyday. The food unfortunately is very low quality, I'm not sure if it's due to the coronavirus and the need to cut costs or that the property has always operated this way. If that's the case, I'm not sure how they have been getting by. The food was absolutely terrible, nothing was fresh, most things were frozen, you couldn't get real guacamole or avocado, you were basically given supermarket paste as guacamole. The chicken and steak and all of the meats were essentially always very low quality which we could tell easily because almost every time it would be a gray colored meat which is not normal. Even when eating at the restaurants, unfortunately we were disappointed by most, the portions are very small, not cooked well, and again the just low quality of it all made it hard to enjoy eating at an all inclusive. The alcohol, no bueno. You can tell that almost everything is either watered down or swapped out for a low-grade subs. I unfortunately would not come back to this resort based on the food and beverage experience alone. Room Service: This is where we had one of the bigger pain points and was extremely disappointed. Unfortunately for 5 days straight we had to wait over an hour for room service, even one night waiting as long as two and a half hours to the point where we received basically a frozen pizza that tasted like cardboard and wasn't well cooked. Whether it was lunch or dinner, nothing ever came and I would have to call multiple times to check in. My boyfriend would go to sleep hungry and upset. I spoke with Veronica numerous times on this, as someone who booked and paid for a preferred, no matter where you are, you shouldn't wait over an hour for room service at an all-inclusive, let alone never two and a half hours. The food was also quite awful, never cook properly, you can tell it was low quality, frozen foods half the time, especially the pizza. If you don't have the staff to fully execute on room service, then don't offer it. We would never order breakfast from room service just because the only place we could find a decent meal was at the market buffet for an omelette. Resort Credit: this unfortunately is a bit of a joke. We got a $200 credit for booking preferred and unfortunately they try to nickel and dime you on everything you tried to use the credit on so you still end up spending hundreds. Overall disappointed with this as well as we didn't get to use it, again don't offer it if you don't want guests to use it.

Yelp
Where do I start? The positives, the staff is friendly and our preferred ocean view room was really nice and we had the best view every morning. That's all I can give it. One, if you're not familiar with this resort, it's really a family resort. Definitely not a place for young couples or a group of friends. I found that out when I got here. Most of the night activities are for the kids so the adults don't have much to do outside of live music in the lobby. Everything closes pretty early so if you're planning to drink after 11 p.m., sorry. Speaking of the drinks, the alcohol is severely watered down, even more than they usually are at resorts. Next, I had two issues with dirty bedding. The concierge sent someone to change them within 10 minutes the first time. The second time it took 2 hours and 5 attempts from the housekeeping guy. He came with the new comforter the first time but said he'd be right back and took it with him. In the next 2 hours, he came back 4 more times with blankets, sheets...everything but the comforter. I still don't know why he left the first time. It was 1 a.m. before I got the comforter. I was beyond tired so I was frustrated that it took several attempts to get clean bedding when all I wanted to do was lay down. The worst part...the food! The food is horrendous. There's barely any seasoning on anything. Even a regular cheeseburger from the grill was hard to eat. We tried the Mexican restaurant and the best thing there was the appetizer Caesar salad. Everything else was bland, the chips were stale and a lot of the food looked like it wasn't fresh. I was even disappointed in the guacamole. For a place that offers guacamole making classes, I don't understand how they serve guacamole that's bland and the consistency of baby food...no, really. We tried to have dinner at Portofino (Italian) and although they said you don't need a reservation, it was packed and they had no idea how long the wait would be. The best food we had (and I use "best" lightly) was the omelet at the World Cafe buffet and Seaside grill had good chicken wings and Philly cheese steak sandwiches for lunch. That was until we got two different kinds of wings when they were the exact same order. They ran out of their regular batter so they decided to just slip in some tempura battered wings without saying anything to us. That batch of chicken wasn't fully cooked. The food wasn't consistent. If we liked something one day and went back the next, it tasted differently. We had hibachi and it was good the first night. We went back the next night and even had the same cook and the food was a different quality. We tried to get ice cream around 8:30 from the little cafe they stopped serving ice cream at 8. I asked for a Frozen Baileys instead (something on their menu) and they told me the Baileys isn't real, it's just syrup. Le sigh. Two things that should be good at an all-inclusive...food and drinks and this place failed at both. I will say I was grateful for Daniel who handles the cabanas. He was super sweet and attentive. He was a God send on the days that it was busy and we needed cabanas. Daniel was awesome. Regarding COVID, they do offer free testing at the resort that you have to schedule with the concierge. The hold your passport until your results are ready.

Worst vacation I've ever been on the FOOD IS HORRIBLE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. Haven't had a hot meal yet every thing ordered has come out wrong, incomplete or late. We sat in the lobby at check in for over 6 hours and were a preferred check in. Nothing about this establishment is relaxing or enjoyable if you want to have a nice vacation go somewhere else. I could go on about how terrible this place is but I'll save you time and mine. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE On top of everything 1 person in our group has a shell fish allergy and everything is cross contaminated. What a waste of money and a vacation. Will never come back to any of the properties and will make sure to let everyone I know to stay elsewhere. After response from hotel I looked into "food check" and "distintivo h" both are a 15 plus year old system that doesn't mean anything no regulations and no quality control just FROZEN food being reheated and served at an inflated price. The food is horrible and comes out cold at every meal not to mention there is not enough eating space for guests so expect to have over an hour wait for every cold meal and once the overwhelmed staff does get to your table expect it to be another hour for the cold food to be brought out. And just to touch on check in yes one room was upgraded but the other 3 rooms weren't upgraded and weren't ready either. So instead of 2 people sitting in the lobby for 6 hours it was 8 people after traveling all night. Place also has weddings every night so areas are closed off from use every night and restaurants are shut down for wedding party's and to boot the whole place shuts down at 11pm no more bar service and no more music. This place is the anti party and anti relaxation that no one needs. PS I don't drink the liquor doesn't matter to me but what a lame place.

Yelp
Ignore all the negative reviews about this place. People are so snotty and stuck up that write those. We just stayed here for a week and it was paradise. The staff really stuck out to us and went above and beyond. The nicest people I have ever met truly. You're treated with such respect and kindness. Everyone here is always happy and it really shows. Yes at night the weddings are loud but get over it. We enjoyed everything and the food was outstanding. Thank you Pedro Hugos Clever and many more. We'll remember this trip for the rest of our lives

Yelp
This is my second all inclusive resort in Cancun. Most of the staff members were friendly and very helpful. Beautiful area but the ocean was very dirty (not the hotels fault.) Freddy and Enrique were my favorite staff members. So happy and funny, they had the best attitude! The food was mediocre and I'm not a picky person when it comes to food. Not many vegetarian options! All in all, I had a great time and it was a good trip.

Yelp
This place really does suck. From food, to forcefully seating people where they pleased. Rude employees; Is not what the consumer/customer wants; it's what they want. Unfortunately this was not my pick because if it would've I would've noticed their low ratings and this wouldn't have been the choice of hotel. And it's definitely giving low ratings for sure!

Yelp
The resort is beautiful, and Paulina our wedding coordinator did an amazing job. We couldn't have asked for more. The resort is great for a family wedding. It's all inclusive and the staff is great, shout out to the staff at the swing bar. Because it is a family area be aware of families or high school kids running around, there's not much the staff could do about that so be kind and patient with the staff. The few downsides were alcohol stops at 12 pm in the lounge with most bars at the pool closing at 5 and others at 11. And some of the food is OK, in my opinion the French restaurant in the lounge was my favorite so I'd recommend it.

Yelp
Do not expect to have any quality relaxation in this resort. Standard welcome drink... negative not gonna happen. The bottles of sparkling wine at reception are never offered nor opened for the arrival of new guests. There have been six weddings/receptions in the last three days. Wedding reception music is super loud late at night for all rooms... like concert level loudspeakers until midnight as receptions are held in the center of this horse shoe layout of a hotel. Do not expect to have quality food here, in fact we were all three sick with stomach issues by our fourth day and those issues continued for a total of 12 days. We all had to see our doctors after we returned home and take antibiotics and get tested for parasites!. Very long waits at the diner restaurants and it seems like a shuffle of basically the same food flavors and nothing was ever served hot only just barely warm. You will be hard pressed to get a spot to lay around the pool or beach area that has any type of shade unless you are prepared to be at the pool with your things to put on a patio chair by 7am or you are willing to pay $100 a day extra for a covered cabana just to be out of the sun. My husband's Reef flip flops were taken poolside and with all the cameras guest service could not help us recover them? The best that they could say was that they have some for sale and of course the gift shop charges $90 US dollars for no name cheap replacements. No adult pool area offered and all pools are family friendly. Try enjoying a drink at the swim up bar while kids splash and play toss the ball literally right next to you. Room layout is surprisingly not family friendly and no privacy is offered for the open bathroom concept. I had to change inside of the small closet to have privacy. We stayed 10 days and our sheets were changed once and never once was the top duvet that had obvious signs of dirt. Housekeeping was minimal and it was noticeable. We are UVC Diamond members and thought we would try a new resort.. never again, we booked the premier level room and had to get a change because our first room literally looked over the dumpster and was so small the closest door wouldn't close with our suitcase inside the closet. First and last time for this place. For what we received we did not feel respected as paying customers that just wanted to relax and have some nice food while enjoying our room and the pool areas. I want to also to mention the wild sickly looking cats roaming around the grounds and restaurant areas and pooping it was just beyond disgusting and the many birds swooping in on people's food and drinks. I'm sure this review will be met with the standard response about our "perspective" and it will be passed along to the proper channels but that's about all that will happen. I wish that our experience could be turned around but I'm not holding my breath and I'm certainly never going back to Dreams again.
