Dreamtime Dive and Snorkel gave us the kind of day on the Great Barrier Reef you hope for but never expect. The sun was out, the clouds offered just enough shade, and both reef sites (Saxton and Hastings) were stunning in completely different ways. The morning coffee and tea were a needed boost, and lunch was genuinely delicious. We were on the Calypso 12, a smaller boat compared to most, and that made the entire experience feel more relaxed and personal. The first deck was perfect for eating and catching your breath. The second deck gave us the perfect breeze, and the top deck lounges were made for sunbathing and watching the world open up around you. The true standout of the day was Reggie, the Master Reef Guide. She brought the reef to life with knowledge, humor, and a presence that made every moment feel intentional. Reggie is deeply connected to these waters and her value shows in everything she does. Make sure she gets her coin. She is worth it. Whatever she is being paid, guides like her deserve more. If you are in Cairns and want a reef trip that feels personal, warm, and unforgettable, Dreamtime delivers.

Booked last minute with them with no reference and turned to be one of the best experience ever. This is gonna be a long review but worth mentioning every detail that made it memorable. First of all crew was amazing!! They are the soul of everything there and you can tell they love what they’re doing and make you love it too. We visited 2 spots for snorkelling and option of scuba diving (even if you haven’t tried it before) and views were breathtaking, so many fauna over there and we were lucky having an amazing weather. By Andrew’s encouragement and advice I decided to do my first scuba dive and Camille my coach was amazingly patient and kind! Jane the marine biologist made sure we understood what we were seeing and gave us random fact through the trip, the captain stopped the boat cause he saw whales so we did too!! The information over aborigines nations and demonstrations were absolutely incredible, not expecting that at all and was fascinating, can’t remember the name but he was awesome (he wears beard and dreadlocks). No doubt I’ll do it again and again with Dreamtime! 🤩

We went out on Sunday 19th Oct 2025 - we chose this particular reef dive and snorkel company based on what people were saying on Google reviews, the cultural heritage aspect also appealed to us. We weren’t disappointed, the team including the resident marine biologist, were polite, friendly, knowledgeable and there to support, whatever your experience level. I had no previous experience of snorkelling, was somewhat nervous, and was able to explore the reef with the assistance of the lovely biologist, whose approach and patience was just what I needed. These guys are really interested in looking after the reef, keeping you safe and making sure everyone has a fantastic experience. They won’t try to upsell any of the additional experiences, in fact they suggested we ask for a partial refund at the ticket office, we chose not to do so, because we understood if one of us couldn’t partake in something we purchased, that was a chance we were willing to take and pay for. However totally unexpected we received a partial refund today! Thank you everyone on the team

Went Friday Dec 12, 2025 with my family. It was SPECTACULAR! If what you're looking for are great snorkeling spots full of life in a boat that doesn't pack 100+ people and the staff is super chill, informative and amazing THIS IS YOUR TOUR! We went with 2 kids (8 and 10) and 2 adults, we all LOVED everything, from the ride to the corals, to the talks on board, to the energy of ALL the staff, to the snorkeling on site, to the nap we took on our way back lol! We had a horrible experience with Frankland Islands and were disappointed and sad, we were not sure about doing it again, I'm so glad we went with Dreamtime, it is ALL WE WERE LOOKING FOR at The GBR! We got amazing footage in our insta 360 so I can't upload those videos now but go see with your own eyes. We visited Hastings and Saxon. Thank you!!!

We had an unforgettable day out with DreamTime Dive and Snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef! Our dive instructor Margherita was absolutely fantastic – she guided me, my girlfriend, my best mate, and my cousin visiting from Denmark on an incredible scuba diving experience. She made sure we all felt safe, comfortable, and confident in the water, while also being a knowledgeable and fun guide. You are the best ! Later, we joined a guided snorkel tour with marine biologist Jen, who took us to a detached reef teeming with colourful fish and vibrant coral. Her passion and knowledge really shone through – she made sure everyone felt looked after while teaching us about the reef’s marine life in a way that was both fun and informative. What made this trip stand out even more was the unique Aboriginal cultural experience onboard. We got to enjoy traditional music, try spear throwing, and hear a thoughtful introduction to cultural values. Big respect to Isaac and Lars for sharing their traditions – it was fascinating and gave the day even deeper meaning. Great boat, amazing staff, stunning reef locations – couldn’t recommend DreamTime Dive and Snorkel more highly. 🌊🐠

Fantastic time.👍 Crew interactive.👍 Cultural sessions 👍 100% value for money. We opted to just snorkle without a guide. You can pay extra for a guide. There was scuba lessons / hire Flippers and snorkle/masks supplied. Briefs before entering the water. Safety zones. Plus heaps of head counts before departing. Visited 2 reefs - Hastings & Saxon reef - Saxon was the better, more fish and colourful coral. We found a turtle swimming around and watched it for some time Sun cream was supplied for free. Sea sick tablets were available . Lunch was a buffet and really nice. Can purchase drinks / beers There were crew members continually looking out for everyone's safety, which was a piece of mind. This was our second time in 3 years and would do it again.

Had a fantastic time. The crew was incredible, amenities were great, and the waters were of course spectacularly beautiful. Huge shout out to the crew for keeping all of us safe, entertained and well-fed (and caffeinated)! Learnt plenty from the marine biologist on-board and on the snorkeling safari experience, and from the cultural guides too. Incredible to learn about the TUMRA arrangement (Traditional Use of Marine Resources Agreement), ensuring marine protection, sustainability as well as empowering Aboriginal groups in preserving their cultural heritage and identity. Thank you so much for the wonderful time today Dreamtime. Fantastic job integrating tourism with science and culture. And thank you to the crew - Simon the skipper, Uncle Kev, Dustin, Reggie, John, Richard, Stefano, and Luca (sorry if I spelt or got any of your names wrong, I tried my best to remember!) ♥️

The boat staff, cruise, food and amenities were all exceptional. The crew showed a lot of passion for the reef and culture of the First Nations people by providing presentations and answering any questions my partner and I had. I went on a tour that went to two locations: Flynn reef and millin reef. I have snorkeled in the Caribbean and Thailand to which I can honestly say that this experience outshines the formers. These reefs were amongst the most unique places I have ever been and can’t recommend enough Dreamtime dive and snorkel for their exceptional service. At the second location we were given the option to pay extra (90 AUD) to go on a “reef safari”. This excursion is led by the lead marine biologist who takes a small group of snorkelers out deeper over swaths of open ocean to massive coral columns that are teeming with ocean life. I will say however this escapade may not be suited for weak swimmers or those with the fear of the abyss. Be mindful of your flippers and happy snorkeling.
