Dreamtime Hostel

The coziest and cutest hostel I've been to in Australia! Very clean hostel, cozy decorations everywhere and comfortable rooms to relax from your travels. The kitchen has everything you need and more (not just the bare minimum!). And the family hosting the place is very friendly!

I've been to Cairns twice, and from the first time I discovered this hostel, I fell in love with its good vibes, hippie atmosphere, and tranquility, combined with the quality and friendliness of not only the owners but also the guests. Both times, I've had the opportunity to meet wonderful, friendly people, and Paul has been very kind from the very beginning. I highly recommend this hostel in Cairns.

Absolutely amazing place, I can’t thank them enough. The rooms are lovely, beds are comfy and the whole place is kept super clean. Lovely, calm atmosphere with plenty of amenities available for guests. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful hostel but rude staff, they acted like I was a nuisance to them just for wanting to extend my stay, very authoritarian and police like, and both of the male owners seem to hate woman, I could feel the negative energy being directed towards me and I heard negative comments about women, no smiling or kindness or any thing that made me feel welcomed or safe as young woman alone there, I loved the hostel but unfortunately the rudeness of both male staff made me feel I would not consider staying there again. The next hostel I was greeted and treated with so much warmth and kindness, so there a definitely hostels with welcoming and pleasant staff but Dreamtime is not one of them. I was nit picked and told off for stupid things like a piece of papertowel dropping off my bed while sleeping ( I was woken up suddenly by one of the owner walking into the room aggressively telling me to pick the clean piece of paper towel off the floor. This is not an acceptable way to treat guests who are just trying to enjoy their travels and they should consider another line of work such as police officer or work on their women issues.the other owner was also very disrespectful to me, nitpicking unnecessarily and very uncalled for and rude and impatient.

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. More than a hostel, it feels like home. The bathrooms and kitchen are always spotless and almost always available for you. It’s never crowded, super chill. I recommend it 100%. Just a 15/20 minute walk from the city center.

My stay was simple and comfortable, and I was made to feel welcome. Tim was friendly and approachable and made sure I knew exactly what to do when I arrived. Tim also arranged a day out at Babinda, kayaking, which was a great day out.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Dreamtime was definitely a choice I am glad that I made. It was clean, comfortable and the amenities, especially the pool and kitchen, were great. I felt right at home. Also, the staff were incredible. Tim especially went well and truly above and beyond to help me to problem solve a very stressful phone situation. I could not have asked for more.

We had a great stay in Dreamtime hostel! It was Exactly what we needed! A quite, beautiful, calm place to have a longterm stay as we work around Cairns. The rooms and all the common areas are always clean! The staff is great! Helpful and friendly! The vibe is so relaxing that is the place you want ro return after work. Next to Cairns central that you can find supermarket and any kind of stores. We highly recommend this place! 10/5 stars!
