Although the coffee is ok, but this establishment has a huge issue, and that is assessed from 2 visits. It is attitude. The staff is anything but welcoming and friendly.
I visited on the weekend, it eas rather busy and it was a cold outdside, I stepped into the the place with my wife an baby daughter. I stood in line to order, and when a seating opportunity was available, my wife and daughter took a seat. I stayed in the queue to order us drinks. The lady working there approached my wife and told her that she can't have a seat until she ordered something. My wife explained that I was already in the queue, to which the lady replied that there was a sign outside saying that no seating is allowed prior to ordering, and accordingly the lady may want to give the seating to someone else. I understand that these are the house rules, but the attitiude with which that was communicated does not show hospitality. We left without ordering.
After all this is not that last coffee place in town.
Usually establishments like this should put their guests as priority, and even if there are house rules, a smart host would know when to be lenient, especially when a family with a baby is involved. If I don't feel welcomed as a guest, I won't come back again, regardless of the house rules.
To be clear, I didn't ask for an exception, but I asked for a better attitude.
And in all honesty, This kind of rule "no searing before ordering" prioritizes profit over the guest's interrest, and in my book, this is the path to loosing guests. It is not cool at all.
