Consider that the pictures are usually taken from a higher area, the view point. It's amazing that the water from the rivers do not mix and leave us this two colored water.

The riverfront along Passau is a must see. Cruise ships, castles nearby, and the confluence of three historic rivers together at this wonderful town. Such a peaceful and beautiful place. A place that seems to have inexplicably escaped the eyes of most tourists until now.

Beautiful. Fantastic walk to meet the connection of them 3 rivers! I wish humans could meet this easy 🙌🏻 Lovely little park at the end of this island, sandy beach - not sure if it is an official beach or people just cooling down themselves in the cold water. A group of younger people had a birthday event, everyone was happy, kind. Felt like the world had stopped for a second! Spotless clean all over, definitely a must see if life takes you there!

There's a big hype about 3 rivers merging and the suggestion that you can see the three different colours meeting in the water. I'm not sure if it's ever a reality, but what I saw was nothing like the picture on the information board. I was there in August, maybe it's visible at a different time of year.

This is the edge of the peninsula where you can see the 3 rivers meet. We were not able to see the actual Ilz from the vantage point, but you could see the 3 different colors of the the rivers mix as they flow downstream. The weather was really great and it was not super crowded.
