Dresden Panometer

Interesting location, old gas warehouses... Now renovated into a museum. Excellent content, well presented - the Amazon was on the program. Parking and city transport are nearby, everything is organized. There is a cafe and toilet inside. Expensive entrance fee for a good hour and a half tour...

Highly recommended to see a panorama view of the old town of Dresden. Pretty nice exhibition, with great stories of Dresden’s history. Love all the details they have, including the detailed stories happening at the moment, the change between day and nights, and the music. Also really cool to see how Dresden has preserved how the city looks throughout all these years! Lastly, deeply amazed by how the artist leveraged the gas storage building that’s no longer in use as the perfect location to show the artwork!

Dresden Panometer is an incredible attraction that combines art, history, and technology in a unique way. The panoramic exhibitions are breathtaking, offering a 360° view that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another time and place. The attention to detail in the visuals and soundscapes is astonishing, and the staff are friendly and informative. It’s both educational and entertaining, perfect for adults and children alike. A must-visit for anyone in Dresden looking for a truly memorable cultural experience!

The 360 degree view of the city is very interesting with tons of details that if you aren’t paying attention you might miss. Even during the transitions between day and night you get to see some details that were otherwise hidden. At the end there was a small exhibition that shows what was left of the city after the bombing at the end of WW2. It’s amazing to see how most of it was destroyed and then rebuilt in the following decades.

Very nice place! The exposition is in an old gasometer, which makes de 360° paiting unique! Strongly recommended.

If you want to experience what Dresden looked like close to reality, then the Panometer is what I highly recommend. Other than historical articles on display, the 3 dimensional panoramic view of historic Dresden in the past with its sights and sounds would definitely be a treat. We were wowed by the awesome detail that the photographer and artists took to create this grand display. I highly recommend this a MUST visit 👍👍👍👌👌👌🙂🙂🙂

Not always the same show is there. I visited the Amazon show by Yadegar Azizi. I enjoyed how deeply I felt being at Amazon. I wished we could also feel a bit the Amazon’s weather.

An unusual exhibition in a unique location - for those interested in how Dresden's architecture and spirit have been shaped throughout history, "Baroque" is definitely worth a visit. However, to enjoy the exhibition, you must be prepared to read the text on the walls/stands (or take an audio guide, as mentioned in other reviews?), otherwise it will be difficult to get much out of it.

Some German frinds took us here a few weeks ago and it was truly breathtaking! Dresden is one of my favourite cities. I find the history absolutely fascinating. The panometer is built within an old retired gasworks. It is a bit tricky to find as it is deep in an industrial area of Dresden. I imagine that unless you are reading this review or are with locals it would be difficult to find or know about. There is a museum which contains artefacts from around Dresden and numerous historical photographs. All of the descriptions are in both English and German. After walking through the museum section there is a short video which I reccomend watching on the making of the Image. The artist Asisi talks through his desire to create a photographic image from Dresden back in 1756. This video is in German so if you don't speak the language take a german friend - though to be honest you can pretty much guess what is going on from the pictures anyway. However it is worth watching the video before experiencing the actual panorama image. The quality of this image is amazing. Start on the top level first and take binoculars with you! While you experience the image the light and sounds change throughout so that you can experience different times of the day from a pink sunrise to the turquoise blue evening sky. Anyone with a love of photography or Dresden should see this! Apparently soon it will be changed to some Amazon panorama - I realy hope that they keep the dresden one though because historically it is fascinating. Allow for a good few hours as the image is do detailed you can really lose yourself as you take note of every small aspect. This is a real must see!!

This was one of the coolest experiences to actually involve yourself on what happened to Dresden during WW1. The tours are really good and it's really done amazingly. Best tourist attraction
