The service was exceptional. The food was just as amazing! We shared the scallop and pork belly appetizer and we each had one drink. Highly recommend the scallops and pork belly. I had the catch of the day, the cod and my girlfriend ordered the beef dish. Both were delicious. The beef came out a touch rare but that's how I like it! The view was amazing! We went on a weekday for dinner at 7pm so it wasn't as busy but the tables started to fill as we left and the sun was setting. I recommend making a reservation for the patio for the best ambiance.

If I could, would rate 10 stars! Opted to have brunch here for the most perfect mother's day weather during our stay in Gibsons. Lovely patio area with the best view in Gibsons! The food was wonderful and beautifully presented! Mimosas were equally as awesome with pineapple, grapefruit and OJ options. They were even so kind as to give us one of the best tables on the patio! Don't miss this spot if you're visiting the area! Reservations highly recommended in the nicer months! Bill was about $90 CAD for 3 meals/drinks.

Google
Had the pork tomahawk main and the pork belly & scallops as a side. Both were fantastic. The service was great and the view from the patio was beautiful. Mainly heard good things about their brunch, but their dinner is excellent as well.

Completely enjoyed our lunch at Drift. Our server (one of the owners) Stephanie was delightful. Interesting menu, cool space (kitchen is on the floor below and food is sent up via dumbwaiter), beautifully presented and prepared food. Fantastic and very thorough Covid protocols, including a tray on each table with a note explaining processes. Totally impressed, and already looking forward to our next visit.

Google
went for brunch twice in three days! the bacon eggs benedict is SOOO good; bacon was thick, perfect eggs, hollandaise sauce was so delicious, roasted potatoes were crispy and soft, and salad was light and fresh and helped cut any richness. I felt very content at the end of the meal, and it wasn’t too heavy. service was great too! owner is very friendly. also, a gorgeous view of the water to be enjoyed.

Google
Dinner at Drift is one of my favourite places on the Coast! Tim, the owner, is so thoughtful and helpful and the food is incredible every time. Don't miss this spot, especially during winter when you're looking for a delicious (and creative) meal - you'll leave feeling completely satisfied every time and you'll get to enjoy high quality local ingredients, as well as a solid cocktail and local craft beer list. Fantastic Ceasar too. 10/10.

Google
We'll come back to Gibsons just to eat here again! It was succulent, from starter to dessert. The service was also genuinely sweet, which made a real difference for us. The view is splendid too. This restaurant is like a journey on its own.

Google
Fantastic! We made a reservation for a family get together at The Drift and it was a wonderful experience. The waitress was so nice, patient and attentive despite having to scale an outdoor staircase with each order! The food was outstanding. It was presented beautifully and everything tasted awesome. The whole group of 6 was happy with every dish. We will absolutely be back next time we're on the Sunshine Coast.

Yelp
Lovely place! The poke bowl was delicious - it was super fresh. Homemade focaccia bread is also delightful.

Yelp
This is an incredible place - food and view were fantastic. I came here on a weekend and close to the end of their lunchtime. We were seated on their patio with a great view of the water as the restaurant is situated at the top of a hill. We got the potato soup with truffle oil to start. This was so yummy. The truffle oil really hit the spot, the soup was super creamy. This came with fluffy focaccia and it was so delicious with the soup. The eggs benedict was also really good. The bacon was thick, the hollandaise just the perfect amount of tanginess, and the hashbrowns were tasty and generous. We really wanted to try their dinner menu, but couldn't make it fit in our schedule. I'll be sure to drop by next time.

Yelp
Great homemade soup. Friendly service, good for friends and family to hang out. Catchy view yo the coast if you visit Sunshine Coast

Yelp
This is probably the nicest/classiest spot in Gibson's from what I've seen. Great location on the hill with a lovely view from the patio. We tried their '3 course meal' offer for dinner and weren't disappointed. The restaurant itself is small, perfect for date night or an intimate dinner. Maybe 10 tables in all, so make sure you book ahead on open table or call first to avoid disappointment. We saw at least 3 groups turned down as they were fully booked, and it was only 6pm. My starter of ling cod croquettes came with what i think was a fennel and dill salad, quite delicious. The chicken was flavourful and the accompanying kale was good too. I wasn't blown away by the choc shortbread tart, but all in all, a lovely meal with thought and creativity evident. Top location, and ambiance, with nice and accommodating staff. There was even a change table for baby in the bathroom, which is often difficult to find, a thoughtful touch to cater to all.

Yelp
Tim and staff did an amazing service to my all my guests and family. The starter canapés was so perfect specially the eggplant focaccia, which started the tone for the rest of the meal. The sea scallops on top of the risotto and leafy organic greens as the first course was divine. The main entrée was a choice of the pan seared lingcod, or roasted lamb. Dessert was a trio of NY cheesecake, warm chocolate, and buttermilk beignets. The press coffee to finish the fantastic three course luncheon meal. Feedback from my guests social network pages was about the ambience, freshness of menu selection, and the food spoke how sublime each bite was heaven. Funny how real good food and drink brings everyone much closer, and a memory that we will all cherish that moment forever! I let Tim decide the signature cocktail, try the Gibsons local distill vodka, wow! As well as the local organic sparkling prosecco, and the wine pairing with the meal was an excellent recommendation. Thank you Tim for taking good care of us! Cheers, Alex

Yelp
Came here a few weekends ago for brunch and we had pretty crappy service. The prices are semi-average for brunch (at least compared to Vancouver) but the portions were a tad small. The price for a beer or a Caesar was about $2-3 dollars more than what I feel comfortable paying. I also hate to admit it, but I found the tiniest hair in my food which doesn't entirely gross me out but added to a more negative experience. They seemed understaffed for Sunday morning brunch -- our waitress seemed a bit stressed; however, the one perk was that we got a superb view looking over to the islands and Mainland which I don't know if you could get anywhere else in the area.

Yelp
The service was nice and the food was delicious when we visited this morning, until we found a bee in whole mixed in with the hashbrown. As we didn't want to make a fuss, we kept on eating and told our server about it at the end of the meal. Considering this is an issue of health and food safety, we thought there would be at least some sort of compensation, yet nothing was done about the situation.

Yelp
The Drift has it all. A modest house with a modest menu overlooking Gibsons harbour. I've been there several times to eat in and take out. I love the breakfast. They make a Shakshuka, a casserole of eggs and tomato that is perfection - I usually find the dish watery but they roast or cook the excess water out. Eggs Benedict, waffles and great coffee - a French press they put on the table. We've had less experience with lunch and dinner but have liked everything we've had. The burgers are great and despite the fact that they aren't on the dinner menu they made them for us for Superbowl. Go. Or not, it's so small that if you read this review there might not be a table for us - assuming that Covid will eventually disappear.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants I have had been to and it was totally unexpected. Showed up for dinner after reading the few positive reviews and decided to give them a try and was not disappointed. We did not have a reservation and it is a relatively small restaurant with only 6 or 7 tables but they were still able to accommodate us by letting us sit at the bar. So I would definitely recommend calling ahead to make sure there is room for anyone looking to eat here. As for the dinner itself, it was absolutely delightful and each dish was extremely well prepared. We had the 3 course dinner for $35. I started off with a twice cooked sunchoke which was phenomenal and something that I've never had before. For my main I had their daily pasta which was a fennel sausage tagliatelle. The pasta was fresh and just the right amount of chewiness and was made with a really nice white sauce. As for dessert, I had the apple bread pudding, also super yummy. My fiance had 3 different other dishes and they were all of the same great taste and quality. He also had a ceasar which was pretty well made as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend Drift to anyone passing by Gibsons. Definitely a nice hidden gem worth the visit.

Yelp
Love their Eggs Benedict-- the best! Otherwise hit or miss! Lunch menu n dinner menu are different n some items not served at dinner r better than what is served at dinner! ( I'm thinking of a burger my son loves, I think) Creative healthful food though, n super duper view! Staff is nice!

Yelp
I was expecting some traditional North American cuisine but instead I was treated to very innovative dishes with unique tastes and smells. Was really impressed !! This restaurant/chef could be in any major urban centre and have reservations booked ahead for weeks. Really impressive and will be back.

Yelp
First time here, but what a treat. It is a breakfast brunch spot with great options including GF Chicken and Waffles and Buckwheat Pancakes. My celiac wife raved over the Chicken and Waffles. I had the Korean Breakfast Bowl and it was exceptional. The kitchen knows what it is doing. Just enough heat to leave a lingering warmth. The owner was the server today. He has owned it for 4 years and does a great job making sure each plate satisfies. He also bought Moĺlys Reach during Covid and deserves your support there too. I've eaten at many restaurants around the world. Is this Michelin Star? No, it doesn't try to be. Is it good? Definately and a place to put on your brunch list when visiting. Now the bad news. It is relatively small so make a reservation during peak times if they do that. We don't know as we came on a weekday in the early spring.

Yelp
What a gem! The location is delightful. Be sure to snag a table outside. It's a small place, so I suggest you make reservations. Not only was the view great, but the servers were fun and attentive. They really added to the experience. And the food! My friend and i started with drinks. She ordered a red wine which she loved, and I got the French 75. Yum! My girlfriend is vegan, so she ordered the Cold Rice Noodle Salad which is full of tofu and which she loved. It was a fairly large serving and she couldn't finish it all. I ordered the local Sockeye Pan Seared Salmon with a chimichurri sauce and summer vegetables. Sooo good! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The only reason this has more than one star is because the manager, glasses and short curly dark hair, was doing everyone else's job. She served us and We were not her table. I don't know where our actual server was. We sat for 20 minutes without being spoken or looked at while our actual server ignored us and served everyone around us. People who arrived 15 minutes after us had their order taken before us. The table next to us sat, had their order taken, ate, and paid before we even got our food. There were other tables of 6 but for some reason our server decided to not serve us and have the manager pick up the slack. The manager was doing everyone else's job, she is a saint. It was a Sunday and busy but they had three people serving and it is a small restaurant, that should be more than enough. But the food was amazing. I would probably go there again.

Yelp
Wow, rare to see a vegetarian muffuletta on a menu, and soooo oozy and good. Good fries too. Teens ordered pancakes which they proclaimed were among the best ever tasted, sophisticated, good portion, extra effort with the caramelized bananas. Went back for dinner, solid as well. Had the pasta of the day, salmon, and chicken. Dishes could have used just a little more panache (and fresh pepper) to get the fifth star. Bread pudding was very tasty. Lovely patio, a great spot.

Yelp
Fantastic Breakfast/Brunch at a great price. We went to Drift Cafe & Bistro on Father's day. It was extremely busy and you could tell the staff were rushed of their feet. We had to wait a long time for our food, but it was definitely worth the wait. The food was delicious and great quality. The staff friendly and had smiles on their faces even though they were clearly under some pressure. They were fully focused on the customers experience. This shows professionalism. I was impressed by this and made it known to our server, who I later found out was one of the owners. The eggs Benedict was delicious, the only criticism I'd add is that the portion size was a little small, but the taste, service and overall experience made up for it. We would definitely return. We also looked at the evening menu which looks fantastic and we plan to visit for dinner another time. This is a wonderful little restaurant with fantastic views, service, food and you will leave feeling great. What more could you ask for?

Yelp
Just dropped in on Boxing Day to treat a friend to brunch for her birthday. A nice location with a great view of lower Howe Sound. The interior is small but the tables are set far apart enough to feel less cramped than it looks. The food....the food was very good. I ordered the chorizo hash and it was very tasty. The bacon is double thick and really very delicious. And the mimosas were perfect as the sparkling wine was quite sparkly and not at all overpowered by orange juice. I was hoping for a lunch option, but on Boxing Day we were lucky to find a joint that was open. The service was attentive and our kind server bought us each a cocktail to start our experience off right. The Nova Kitchen was great! I'll be back.
google avatar

Nicole R.

Yelp
The food here is incredible, the interior part of the restaurant is super cute and cozy whilst the outside deck overlooking water views is so inviting! What a treat for the Sunshine Coasters. Wide variety of locally found Wild Edibles on the Sunshine Coast forms the basis upon which Chef Paul Haldane creates just memorable, fresh and inventive plates that you will not forget. Something as simple as the Asparagus salad stay with me - three variations of asparagus flavour and texture in one simple salad, just blew me away. This standard is rare and is reflective of the owner/chef's pure and simple joy of cooking. You cannot go wrong at Nova, rather it is a blessing. Thank you Nova Kitchen for your inspired love of great food.

Yelp
Honestly one of the best breakfasts we had. My girlfriend and I were there celebrating my birthday back on June 9th. Came across this little gem. We had the eggs benny and the porchetta sandwich. Both were unreal. So much so I downloaded yelp two months later just to review it. Great friendly staff too. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Went for brunch at The Drift and everything was great, sat inside their small restaurant because the deck was full. There is an amazing view from the deck and any window. Even though being busy the service was prompt and the food came out quickly. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the portion size is quite small on the eggs bennies' that both my wife and I enjoyed.
google avatar

Ed K.

Yelp
Yet another great place to add to my Sunshine Coast list of places to eat. Inside in pretty nice but the deck is where it's at. If you're passing through Gibsons on a sunny day stop here for lunch/dinner or a drink and appies. I had the fried chicken sandwich and I actually had to take out a piece of chicken so I could eat it. Don't worry, it didn't go the waste but was a nice extra bit on it's own. My wife had the risotto and it was delicious. The fish and chips smelled fantastic and I'm already planning a trip to the deck when the sun it out.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this restaurant on the way to visit friends in Sechelt and were completely wowed by it. The view, the setting and the gorgeous deck would be reason enough to go here, but when you factor in the food and service it's just a complete winner. We had the soup of the day which was a delicate gazpacho, and the Gibsons Butcher Burger. It came with beet relish, cheese, aioli and really great fries. It was perfectly cooked (you can get medium rare in Canada if the establishment grinds their own meat and these guys do). It's a perfect burger, not too big, not runny and drippy and it's mainly about the great tasting beef. The brioche like bun was perfect. We hope to go back soon to try other things. They also make a killer mojito and they are dog friendly!

Yelp
Great food, incredibly friendly staff (our waitress was hilarious and attentive without being overbearing). The patio overlooks gibsons, and provides such an incredible view.
google avatar

Yelp
Visited the Sunshine Coast recently from the US, and came here for breakfast and had the eggs benny and expected something awesome based on the reviews, but it was just OK and unremarkable, nothing really stood out in terms of flavors and presentation. The patio view is of course awesome, but breakfast was just OK. From the looks of the menu, dinner looks like it much be much better.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
What a gem of a place! Stopped by for brunch before we headed for the ferries, and it was the best brunch we have had on the Sunshine Coast! Everything was so fresh! Their Caesars are delicious, and their coffee comes in a French press! And not overly expensive! We would love to try their dinner menu next time we are in town. :)

Michael U.

Yelp
Gibsons has always been in need of a good spot for breakfast and based on my last visit Drift is on a good path to be that place. Nice choice of coffee and like that they supply foods that are humanely sourced and organic.

L W.

Yelp
We enjoy ourselves whenever we come. Casual dining with good service and wonderful food. Their fresh pasta is always a good choice.
google avatar

Kat S.

Yelp
A delightful surprise. The best lamb I've ever had, the most tender! Short wine list but so perfectly paired to the offerings you don't mind. Fun atmosphere, and a stunning view of the water. The bangers and mash were perfect gourmet comfort food while our starters gave us perfect glimpses of what was to come without filling us up. They accidentally put our order in wrong but were quick to fix it and brought an extraordinary complimentary salad to hold us over. Would definitely visit again.

Yelp
Been here a few times.. once with husband, once for cocktails with the girls and most recently for an end of Summer Sat night. Amazing evening, views incredible.. live music. Food was great. Perfect venue.

Yelp
Just ate the most fabulous meal at Drift Cafe & Bistro. I can't remember the last time I ate a meal where every component of the dish was equally as important and tasty. We started with the mussels, followed by the cod and finished up with the creme brulee, a definite thumbs up!!!

Audrey T.

Yelp
This is a little gem in Gibsons. The service, food and view are not to be missed. Excellent in every way.
google avatar

Randy S.

Yelp
Nova is a farm to table themed restaurant, with a cheffy feel. We had lunch today and a lot went right, but not everything. Wife had the hamburger, which was generous and locally sourced. The house-made condiments-- beet relish and pickled sunchokes-- were tasty and the combination worked. The fried chicken sandwich was less successful. The chicken and the coating lacked seasoning. I was optimistic about the choice of thigh for the patty, but it was in two parts making the sandwich hard to eat. The fries were fresh and crisp. Given the thought and effort that went into the sandwiches I would have liked to see something more than a little dish of name brand ketchup for dipping. The garlic aioli from the burger would have been a better choice. All in this is a decent place to eat in a town that has some pretty poor restaurants. (Though several of the worst ones have closed, so maybe things will get better.)

Went for dinner with my partner and roommate and was a great family experince can't recall exactly we had I think something with noodles

Yelp
I was very disappointed in Gibsons' food scene last time I visited (Gumboots has always been fabulous though. I just wished there were more options...). I'm so glad to have discussed Drift. We came here before 11 am. But the waitress offered us lunch and dinner options. The coffee, tea and latte are awesome. Then my meal came. My bf ordered chicken sandwich. The chicken was properly grilled and beautifully flavored. I ordered the soy fed pork bowl. The pork was fatty but not too much. Just perfect. The seasoning was so to the point. The juice soaks the rice, which is usually cooked too dry in other places. However, the rice is moist, and soaked in the beautiful juice from the pork. I could eat 3 bowls of rice with that juice. I'm Chinese and I'm really picky with my rice and pork. And I don't even like to eat rice that much. But I inhaled my bowl of rice. Now onto the pickles. The pickled beans and onions are just how they taste like in Japan. I am so excited about this place that I'm ordering a take-out for my friend in Vancouver. Hats off to the chef! Must-try. And it's so close to the ferry!! Keep this place awesome!!!!

Yelp
Great Food. I mean Fantastic!!! Forgot our sourdough starter but gave to us for free. Amazing view and Great Service. Well worth the price.

Yelp
Great spot in Gibsons. Had a late dinner here this week. Beautiful ambiance out on the deck with live music overlooking the water. Food was very tasty, homemade bread was to die for and excellent starters. Fish and chips was decent but the fresh vegetable linguini was amazing with a ton of fresh veggies. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Had a nice wine list with good recommendations from the staff. Really enjoyed our visit, would highly recommend for a nice dinner in Gibsons.

Yelp
Drift Cafe & Bistro is the best restaurant in Gibsons, BC! We have been here several times since the new owners took over from Nova Kitchen. The food is spectacular! Fresh mussels, beautifully seasoned braised beef, homemade focaccia bread, fresh pasta and delightful wine! Did I mention the incredible ocean view? Even if it rains and you are seated outside, you will be under huge umbrellas and given warm blankets.

Myth B.

Yelp
Great prices, comfortable atmosphere, lovely service and delicious farm to table food! I'm assuming the menu changes seasonally but the stand out dishes were the crispy sun chokes, home made pasta and the short rib was something else!
