Drifters Hotel & Beach Restaurant

I had an incredible stay at the Drifters hotel in beautiful Hikkaduwa! The location is unbeatable, with stunning views of the turquoise ocean just steps away. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-equipped, offering both comfort and style. The staff were friendly and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The hotel’s restaurant served delicious meals, with fresh seafood and local delicacies. The peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect place for relaxation. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to experience the beauty and tranquility of Hikkaduwa Beach!

Very nice beach. Clean rooms, but old furniture. I missed the hangers in the shower room. There was only a short tube. Breakfast is okay. There is no restaurant or bar for dinner in the hotel, there is just beer in the bar. There are a lot of bars, restaurants, and markets nearby. The best waves for surfing.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's amazing that you can go straight ti the beach from the hotel. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The breakfast could be better, there could be more choices. The rooms are not bad, but usually we had to shower with cold water (if all water has been used, you have to wait long time to have hot water again). There could be more cabinets in the room, because i didn't have enough place to put all the thing. One evening we didn't have electricity for 1 hour.

I recently stayed at Drifters in Hikkaduwa, and I can’t recommend it enough! The location is just perfect – right on the beach with stunning views. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and really clean. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the management is always around, making sure everything runs smoothly. The beachfront bar is great for sunset cocktails, and the restaurant serves some of the best food I’ve had in Sri Lanka. Plus, the pool is perfect for a dip after a day of surfing!

My friends and I had a wonderful stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The highlight for us was definitely the food; it was simply delicious! The variety and quality exceeded our expectations, and we found ourselves eagerly looking forward to each meal. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was pleasant and relaxing, making it a perfect spot for a getaway with friends. I highly recommend Drifters Hotel for anyone looking for excellent service, great food, and a memorable stay.

We were staying in this place for 8 days and were surprised by the lack of professionalism of the staff. Let’s start with the security. Firstly, we thought that he’s just a creepy man. But then he tried to get into our room at night and offered a woman staying in a next room to give her a visit at night (guess you understand the purpose). Moreover, he was turning on the music at night and speaking loudly at 3/4/5 am. Secondly, the manager of the hotel was quite impolite. We paid 20$ with cash him to check-in into the AC room , but after as we didn’t pay him , he just took the AC remote control without warning us! He could’ve just reminded us about the payment and we would’ve just given him it as demanded Thirdly, the quality of hotel was equivalent to the price. Nothing luxurious, just the ordinary furniture and rooms But we’d like to admit the quality of cleaning! Every time we asked to tidy up our unit, we were satisfied with the way it was accomplished. The main disadvantage of this hotel is staff. We’d recommend the owner to pay attention to some of the workers.

I'm puzzled by the high reviews for this place. It is definitely not worth the money. The rooms are small, dark, hot, humid, and in need of renovation. We had to keep a loud fan on throughout our stay, and the power/fuses went off twice in three days. The swimming pool doesn't feel welcoming. While there's a kettle in the room, no teas or coffees were provided. We had uninvited guests - cockroach, ants, and a spider (there are holes/vents without any mosquito nets, so everything gets inside. The beach loungers look tired and outdated. Although the location is on the beach, every hotel around looks better. The patio outside the dining area offers a nice view, but our experience was marred by loud Russian rap music from other 11am -vodka-drinking-guests. The staff, however, are pleasant and very kind. The place has potential (location is fab), but improvements are needed.
