We had breakfast at Driftwood Cafe on both days we spent in Cooktown. Loved the view out to the esplanade and the ambience. Staff were very courteous, and all the food was great. Would definitely recommend any of their freshly made juices, especially the "rooted".

Got ignored when I walked in. Got ignored when we found our own dirty table. Got ignored when I went to the counter to order food. Stared at old mates back for 5 minutes. Gave up. Went down the road found a cafe with excellent service.

Great little spot on the water in Cooktown. Small but interesting menu, everything seems to be made fresh (pastries, juices, and the food). No single use plastic in the whole place, and you can't beat the view. I had the pork vindaloo and some fresh watermelon juice, it was terrific. They also had Russian blini on the menu which was quite interesting to see! Friendly service. Certainly the best spot in Cooktown I found (by far!). Give it a try.
