Drogheria Màscari

What an amazing hidden gem. We traveled from SA to Venice and booked into an apartment. Wanting a bit of Durban flavor we went search of the perfect blend of herbs and spice for our chicken curry 😊😃. Found Muscari tucked in a little alley. These master spice blenders adorned in White coats carefully extracted our precious spice mixed from an age old wooden box cupboard to weigh out. What friendly service. And amazing sample of worlds best spices. Needless to say our curry was delicious with Indian aromas wafting through the alleys between Rialto Bridge. 😅😅 An unforgettable experience.

The best wine store in Venice! They have a beautiful selection of so many Italian wine treasures from all regions and in all styles! The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is so much to explore, also sweet treats and other local products. I absolutely recommend for everyone who wants a store that sells more than just generic tourist items, a store that has character and great products! Grazie mille! :)

I wanted premium Italian Balsamic Vinegar in Venice, but needed a place with knowledgeable staff who could explain the differences to me. A local friend recommended Drogheria Màscari and I couldn’t have been more pleased. The staff patently walked me through the differences in ratings and types of production, and helped me make an informed decision without spending a fortune.

This is the best wine store I've been to in Venice. They have great selection of wines and spirits and the staff is very helpful. Don't get fooled about the small venue, the selection of wines are in two separate rooms behind the counter.

We have a great time in this shop. The staff dont treat you like a tourist, they take the time to tell you every little detail of the product. Shop is beautifull and the products are top quality. Realy a nice shop that stands out in the city becose it takes you away from al the mass tourist shops. This shop is real !

What a lovely find. Staff were helpful in suggesting wines and we tried something completely new to us and it was completely amazing 😍. La Salute, Raboso, vino Frizzante a delicious frizzante red. Went perfectly with out pasta dish that was tomatoes, artichokes and black olives. So much choice at this shop and we will go back! Also - got a cheeky prosecco valdo for only €5.50!!!

The friendly man who sold us wine from their extensive wine collection was SO helpful (even though I speak very little Italian). We asked for wine and Prosecco from Venice and Piedmont and Friuli and it was all great. I recommend them highly for purchasing bottles of wine!

Excellent selection of spices and confectionery and staff are absolutely lovely. The cashier lady kindly let me pay by card under the minimum amount as it is my last day and I did not have cash. Highly recommend :)

Calle degli Spezieri was once known as the street of the spice merchants. Now, this is the only one left on this street. Started in 1948 by Luciano and his wife, it's now run by their two sons. The warmth and hospitality of a family owned business shines through and they're proud to show the quality merchandise they have on hand. A dizzying 600 Italian wines can be found towards the back of the store and you're welcome to stay and peruse as long as you want. We choose a half bottle of Moscato for the bf's sister in law which went well with the biscottis they had on hand too. They carry a good variety of chocolate and candies, pastas, dried goods etc. But you really need to come for the spices! Every spice known to man is here in this shop, kept in tightly sealed glass canisters or wooden boxes. They are weighed and you're charged accordingly. Don't miss their truffle salt and truffle butter! I only got mini bottles of both since there was no more room in our luggage! We couldn't be more happier with our purchases here and at a fraction of a cost if we would've gone to a big chain store. A great find!

Friendly and knowledgeable shopkeepers in this family run business...you'll find a wide array of spices, dry goods, sweets,m olive oils, vinegars, and other luxury food items. We stumbled upon this wonderful store in the San Palo district near the Rialto Bridge and later found out that it was one of the best as recommended by a local guide. We bought some delicious truffle salt and butter from them... If I had known how good they were, I would have really stocked up. Try the busola cookies from them, too!
