We recently stayed at the Drury Hotel in Disney Springs for a 4 night stay Sat-Wednesday. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly desk attendant who told us a room was actually ready for us right away! A great beginning considering we were several hours early, and originally anticipating just dropping our bags off.
The room was a clean, standard looking room. We had a king room with a view, on the 12th floor. The view from the balcony was nice, the bathroom was very clean, the kitchenette area was a nice bonus. There was an extra sink outside the bathroom which I appreciated. A safe, microwave, mini fridge, coffe maker, and ice bucket. Also a closet space to hang clothes, along with a dresser. The room had plenty of seating options, and a nice TV. My only complaint is the bed was too firm for me, I had a tough time sleeping on it. Also, the pillows were too firm for my liking but I'm the kind of person who likes sleeping on a cloud. If you like a firmer bed, I imagine you'll like the one here.
The hotel itself is a nice size, two sets of elevators made it so we virtually never waited more than mere seconds to catch a ride up or down. It was amazing! The pool was nice, it looks smaller in photos than it really is. There's a hot tub that we didn't go in because it was 100+ degrees out, and a splash area for kids that looked pretty fun! We ordered drinks and lunch by the pool and it was awesome. A server came over to us to get our order and then brought it all over to where we were sitting when it was done. We got the totchos (tater tot nachos), a pretzel with cheese, and two slushie drinks that I forget the name of but were delicious. Also, they have two computers you can use in the lobby to print your flight info out on which I found very helpful!
The food at the hotel was pretty good. Sure the cost is built into your stay but by the time you get there, it feels free. Girl math. The breakfast was good, two kinds of scrambled eggs everyday, pancakes, 5-6 make your own Mickey waffle makers, sausage pattys, biscuits, oatmeal, and fruit. The kickback was really cool. The free drinks a night and they were delicious and it was no hassel at all to get them. There's a bar on both sides too so that was great in keeping the lines way down, even on Saturday. The only downside was that we enjoyed the kickback twice and it was the same meal both times. If I was giving the Drury any advice it would be to diversify the menu to span more days. Maybe have a rotating menu every 4-5 days, so no one is catching the same thing twice very much. Overall it was fine, nachos/tacos was what we were offered, there was a hot dog area too, and soup!
Another plus was the bus transportation offered by the hotel. We took it to Disney Springs, Epcot, and the Magic Kingdom. All easy trips with only one being quite busy. Going to Epcot early it was packed but they made sure we all got on and were delivered to the parks in time to make the rope drop. Also taking the bus back was simple, and a great alternative to ride sharing back and forth.
Overall the Drury was a great place to stay. My complaints are minimal and would not deter me from staying there again. You could not ask for friendlier staff, nicer benefits, and a great view. Definitely consider staying here if you're on your way to Disney or just the Orlando area!
