My Favorite Airbnb Experience: A Speedboat Tour Off the Coast of Trogir, Croatia

"After a 20-minute speedboat ride, we arrived at Drvenik Veli., also known as the Blue Lagoon. We pulled into crystal clear waters where we got off the boat and got a chance to walk around, visit the shops, or grab a snorkel (which was provided on board) and try to find the slippery fish that occupied the bays."

Good place to spend your time, to relax. You can do some snorkeling or just swim in the clean and clear water. You can arrive here only by boat but it is a must visit place.

Tourist agencies gave Drvnik Veli an name that tourist would remember, "Blue Lagoon." Rings a bell, does it? Well, I was not impressed. Yes, the waters are magnificently blue and turquoise. But there are dozens of boats of all shapes and forms hauling countless tourists back and forth. Snorkling was not enjoyable as one has to be very vigilant not be be run over by a boat. Besides, there is no beach to speak of.

Cute little village, nice walk over the hills to the other side, beautiful bays incl. The Blue Lagoon. We were able to moore at the little village pier during Bora for free and were safe and sound. Thank you for your hospitality!

Recommended for “less comfort” demanding people, that will get relaxing time and clean water. There is no drinking water on island (like in many places in Croatia), so recommended is to buy 7 litres plastic bottles in a shop - on island. On island are available shop - that offers only basic goods - bakery with nice offer or even a post-office. In season 2019 also a doctor. Both has limited “opening hours”, but everyone can get used to it. To buy wine or olive oil, it is recommended from locals. Drvenik Veli island is located in landing / departure zone of Split (Trogir) airport. Passing airplanes are about 900m above sea level when passing Drvenik Veli - that is meaning quite lot of noise. Parking of a car is not preffered on the island at all. Visitors can park their cars in the island, but as there are no roads, car is not very usable and only takes place for people (planned is car-ban in next seasons). Preffered is to leave car on land and walk to ferry (trajekt). Sometimes there is electricity power-outage - can be even 2x per 10 days and last quite long (12 hrs). Recommended.
