A great hotel, nice people and good service. Very good and delicious breakfast buffet. Nice pool. But most of all you are in a great area where you have the night market around the corner and many little food stands with great quality food for 80/100 Bath per person. 7/11 across the hotel. Excellent location. Furniture is dated but rooms being renovated but good quality. We are going back in 1,5 week before fkying back. So just to mention a good spot.

The Duangtawan is one of those rare hotels that is value for money considering its incredible handy location and reasonable pricing in what is a pretty great city: Chiang Mai. ||It’s located between the Marriot and Intercontinental and is far cheaper than both, with the rooms being spacious and housekeeping were wonderfully attentive having had my room cleaned upon my return from breakfast each morning. ||It’s a massive building with over 500 rooms but it never feels busy or crowded, indeed it feels cavernous at times, and it has a charm that quietly pleases.||You are largely left alone to come and go as you like, the pool is decent, the breakfast is decent, the views quite spectacular as it’s one of the tallest buildings in Chiang Mai. ||If you walk out the front door and walk straight across the road you’ll find travel agents and cheap laundry options and a 7/11, all very handy for travellers. ||If you turn right you’ll soon be at the nights markets and decent food options and shopping. ||If you turn left you’ll find plenty of bars and kick boxing and tattoo or massage options, and keep walking that way and turn a corner and you’ll be upon the old city quarter. ||Just a wonderful location. |I think I’ll take up their reasonable long term stay offer one day. I enjoy it so.

Great location across the Mariott. Staff doesn’t really speak English, take that in consideration. Super choice, but not for snobs. The hotel has gone way behind the expiration date. See it as a great value for money pick.

My wife and I see the Duangtawan Hotel as our home while we are in Chiang Mai. We have been staying here twice a year for over 20 years, and have never tired of the experience. Although aging, it continues to display charm and appeal.||It is conveniently located a short walk from the night bazaar and other attractions. The rooms are comfortable, and the restaurants in the hotel are good.||The hotel also offers a shuttle bus service to the airport, and a 12:00 checkout. It is also very reasonably priced. We have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. ||So, I definitely recommend the Duangtawan Hotel!

Stayed at a really good hotel recently and had a great experience! The location is excellent—conveniently close to shops, cafes, and key attractions, yet still quiet enough for a relaxing stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. Staff were friendly and always ready to help. Definitely a place I’d come back to—highly recommended for both comfort and convenience!

The hotel is perfectly situated for the bars, markets and shopping. Price....fantastic and if you're happy enough not to be too fussy then go for it. The hotel is clean enough but it's now gone well past it's sell by date and desperately in need of a major refurbishment, it's very tatty, worn out and screaming for a full modernisation. Great gym , we used it every day. Pool , it's ok but once again, tatty and badly needs work done. Bedrooms look great on the photos but looking at the smaller details, needing attention. We lasted one night before moving out into another room.

We had a very pleasant stay! The hotel facilities were excellent—clean, spacious rooms and great service. We were a group of four and stayed in two adjoining rooms with a connecting door, which was super convenient. Bottled water was provided daily, and the rooftop pool was a good size with clean changing rooms. The sauna and gym were also available to use at no extra cost, and they offered free luggage storage, which was really helpful. Breakfast had a good variety each morning. Would definitely stay here again

We stayed here in April 2024. We've visited many times before and always enjoyed our stays, but after a break from travelling due to COVID, our return this year was a bit disappointing. The hotel is in need of some serious upgrades. While the rooms were clean, they feel outdated, and the windows clearly hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. The foyer areas on each floor also had a musty, damp smell, adding to the overall feeling that the place is getting a bit tired. The front desk staff were surprisingly rude—not something we've experienced before in Thailand. We booked for a family of four, but when we arrived, there were only two single beds in the room. We were told we could all "share and fit," which was obviously not acceptable. I requested two fold-out beds, but was told we’d have to pay extra. I explained that we had already paid for accommodation and breakfast for four people. After some back and forth, they eventually agreed to provide the extra beds and include breakfast—but not without a poor attitude. Despite these issues, we still love the location. The entrance and lobby remain beautiful, and the food and pool area are great. Sadly, the spa—which was once fantastic—now feels dirty and cold. We really hope the hotel invests in some upgrades and returns to being the excellent place it once was. We'd love to keep coming back, but things definitely need to improve.
