"For panoramic vistas of the city and surrounding coastline, “take the cable car to the top of Mount Srđ. It’s the perfect spot to watch the sunset and enjoy a meal at Panorama Restaurant,” says Andrea Lovrić. Tickets can be purchased at the cable car stations, and the top provides superb sunset-photo opportunities and easy access to other hilltop activities." - Lydia Mansel

"In a swift four minutes, the Dubrovnik cable car will deliver you to the top of Mount Srdi for awe-inspiring views of the Old Town and Elaphite Islands. On clear days, you can even see Italy far out on the horizon. Next to the cable-car station is Napoleon’s Fort Royal, an immense stone fortress that played a strategic role in the 1992 Siege of Dubrovnik during the Croatian War of Independence. Today, the fort houses the Museum of Contemporary History, which showcases artifacts from the Dubrovnik battlefields as well as a BBC film that vividly illustrates the events of 1991 and 1992."

Expensive but worth the money! I think kids should be under 16 though, not under 12. We have teenagers and so €30 per person return becomes really expensive for the family.
Not too long to wait, even in August!
I recommend eating at the restaurant at the top. It is well worth the money for the fantastic view and the food is good.
I also recommend visiting the war museum at the top, which we all found very informative and I found actually that my teenagers could relate to this more easily than the world wars, since it was relatively recent. It is so shocking to see images of Dubrovnik under attack.
The views from the top of the cable car are of course fantastic.

The Dubrovnik Cable Car is one of the best experiences to do in the city! The ride up is smooth and the views over the Old Town, the Adriatic Sea, and the surrounding islands are absolutely breathtaking. The time spent at the top was amazing — whether enjoying the scenery, taking photos, or just relaxing. A must-do when visiting Dubrovnik!

Fabulous views❗️ Did not take the cable car. We chose a taxi … the driver, Dragan (photo), took us to the top & stopped along the way for spectacular views we would not otherwise have seen. Very highly suggest him or another taxi as the way up & back down. We treated him to an espresso at the restaurant while we had ‘drinks’.

Never stop to listen to the people standing there offering to drive you to the best location to make the best pics from the top of the mountain . This you can do yourself once you arrive there. Besides, from the gondole you enjoy a marvelous 360 grade sight of Dubrovnik as you slowly go up. There's nothing you can substitute with to this experience.. Enjoy and prepare your cam :-)

Gorgeous views over Dubrovnik. Sunset was amazing from the top. Walk a little towards the left (cable car behind you) to find some beautiful nature and even better views. We also bumped into a herd of goats. Queue down after sunset was almost 1h, right before no queue whatsoever (neither up or down).

We bought tickets at the booth when we were in the queue. We only had to wait a few minutes for a car. The cable car itself was really clean - no smudgy glass as is often the case. I’m not a great fan of cable cars, but this was really enjoyable. The car was full on the way up, but almost empty on the way down. The car is really sturdy and there was no swing to it. It comes to a full stop at the top and bottom and has an attendant to operate it.
Views from the top are pretty awesome. Agree with other reviewer though that covering the best viewpoint with parasols and charging extra does feel a bit cheap, given the price of the ride.

Yes the view is stunning but for a 30 euro return cable car ride I regretted not attempting the hike. Definitely not worth the price. I was really annoyed that the best viewing spot, free from cables and trees could only be accessed with an extra 3 euro pp( photo with umbrellas stopping you from getting a clear view). A cheat after having paid for the cable car. You can go 4 wheeling to see the views from different spots but that is an extra 40 euro. I wish I had walked up!

The hike to the cable car entrance from Old Town takes about 8-10 minutes, just go up hill and follow the signs. Once there, the wait for the cable car is another 10-15 minutes, and the ticket per person is 30 Euros! A lot of money to charge for a 3 minute ride. You can buy the tickets online, which will save you some time and avoid yet another line. The view at the top, however, is magnificent, so it’s a worthwhile place to visit.
