"In a swift four minutes, the Dubrovnik cable car will deliver you to the top of Mount Srdi for awe-inspiring views of the Old Town and Elaphite Islands. On clear days, you can even see Italy far out on the horizon. Next to the cable-car station is Napoleon’s Fort Royal, an immense stone fortress that played a strategic role in the 1992 Siege of Dubrovnik during the Croatian War of Independence. Today, the fort houses the Museum of Contemporary History, which showcases artifacts from the Dubrovnik battlefields as well as a BBC film that vividly illustrates the events of 1991 and 1992."

Gorgeous views over Dubrovnik. Sunset was amazing from the top. Walk a little towards the left (cable car behind you) to find some beautiful nature and even better views. We also bumped into a herd of goats. Queue down after sunset was almost 1h, right before no queue whatsoever (neither up or down).

We bought tickets at the booth when we were in the queue. We only had to wait a few minutes for a car. The cable car itself was really clean - no smudgy glass as is often the case. I’m not a great fan of cable cars, but this was really enjoyable. The car was full on the way up, but almost empty on the way down. The car is really sturdy and there was no swing to it. It comes to a full stop at the top and bottom and has an attendant to operate it. Views from the top are pretty awesome. Agree with other reviewer though that covering the best viewpoint with parasols and charging extra does feel a bit cheap, given the price of the ride.

Yes the view is stunning but for a 30 euro return cable car ride I regretted not attempting the hike. Definitely not worth the price. I was really annoyed that the best viewing spot, free from cables and trees could only be accessed with an extra 3 euro pp( photo with umbrellas stopping you from getting a clear view). A cheat after having paid for the cable car. You can go 4 wheeling to see the views from different spots but that is an extra 40 euro. I wish I had walked up!

The view from the cable car in Dubrovnik was spectacular, truly one of the highlights of the city. However, during our tour one of the workers showed rude and unprofessional behavior whose name tag read “Marin”. My younger sister accidentally broke a glass bottle in the area. We cleaned up the bulk of the mess ourselves, and sincerely apologized. The staff completely ignored us and the apology, no offer to help, just cold and arrogant behavior. He threw/loudly placed a stopper by the broken glass area and left for like 5 minutes before coming back with a broom. It felt unnecessarily hostile, especially when it was just an unintentional mistake. Later, while trying to scan our tickets to return down, we struggled at the gate. The same staff member, was standing nearby smoking and blatantly ignoring us. Moments later, another caucasian family arrived, and he immediately stopped smoking and assisted them in scanning their tickets. The contrast was hard to ignore. We left feeling disrespected and quite frankly, discriminated against. It was disappointing to say the least.

Git the cable car for some great views from the viewing platform and restaurant atbthe hilltops above the city. Cable car journey lasts 5 mins. You can buy return or single tickets. Walk down is on winding paths but I would imagine not so difficult for those fitter folk. The walk up would require time and or relative fitness as it is quite a climb. Views from the cable car are great and the cars are large enough to move around in to get some good photos. Viewing area at top is large with plenty of space. Restaurant can be busy and we only got drinks. It was noticeably windier at the top so might require extra layers on cooler days.

Typical tourist trap. The views from the top are magnificent, but you can climb yourself or use a taxi. Price for round trip is 30€ per person. Posh restaurant at the top, and photo shooting spot for another 3 €. Cable car was on my list, but after visiting I felt disappointed.

We paid €15 one way up and walked down it as it was quite expensive. We bought the ticket using the machine and went straight up around 7pm. The view was unreal but walking down the path also had amazing views. It does take about 1 hour to walk down but it does have a lot of steps if you were getting back to the cable car entrance.

Well, the ride up, the ride down and the lookout is stunning. 30 Euros is pretty steep but it is the only game in town for seniors
