Duck and Cover - Cocktailbar

This cocktail bar had been recommended by many people, and it was one of the places I wanted to visit even before coming to Denmark. My expectations were not only met but exceeded. The cocktails were of very high quality, each one with its own unique and memorable flavor. The staff were friendly, helpful, and showed great knowledge of the drinks on the menu. One of my friends is a big fan of smoky Isle-region whiskeys, and the bar had an impressive selection, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere was cozy yet refined, with a warm and rich vibe that made the evening feel special. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality, creativity, and service make it absolutely worth it.

Fantastic creative cocktails. Bonnie and Stefan were super friendly, professional and provided me a lot of great tips of places to eat in Copenhagen. Casual relaxed vibe at this place. I would highly recommend Duck and Cover to anyone into the new modern creative Cocktail culture.

Loved the cocktails! We had the tomatio, peachy bastard, tiki Verde (packs a punch of ginger!), laurel, and shandyman. Our server was also fantastic and so friendly. They serve light bar bites as well.

Very nice ambiance, very cozy cocktail bar. Ordered two drinks from the menu but for the next round was craving something whiskey based and spirit forward. The server asked a couple of quick questioned based on flavor profiles I was seeking and brought back a very delicious twist on an old fashioned. Highly recommend

Great bar with skilled bartenders. Amazing decor and room design. I sat at the bar for two hours and thought that was it, asked where the bathroom was and was amazed to see two other rooms with the low cozy intimate seating for groups and couples. Awesome.

A nice cocktail bar in Copenhagen, my first stop in the town. Recommended by my bartender friend in London, so it is a good bar acknowledged by some professional drinkers. For me, it is above the standard, everything I tried was good, but nothing too special in make a huge impressions.

I walked and saw the sights the entire day, so this place was an absolute treat at the end of my day... The drinks here are tasty and quite boozy. I imbibed in many different concoctions and the bartender supplied amazing conversation as well (one of the few bars with an engaging bartender; seems to be a rarity in Copenhagen). I can't really remember what I tried, but it was all good. Definitely go if you're ever in Copenhagen.

This place has an awesome vibe. Very calming and the mood lighting only helps. The the mixologist bonnie was super nice and very attentive. Can't recommend this place enough. Will definitely come back here again

Copenhagen has a great craft cocktail scene. Of the handful of spots I went to, Duck and Cover was my favorite. Kasper, the owner and Ruby alum is just awesome. Super humble, super nice, and super talented. His creativity is evident in his house cocktails to the point where it was difficult to decide which ones to select. I wanted to try them all. I started with the Pineapple Express. It had some nice, but not over powering smoke from the mezcal, and also was refreshing thanks to the coconut and cinnamon. I tasted a couple of my neighbor's drinks which were excellent as well. I finished with the Whiskey Gone Nuts which was my favorite cocktail of my trip and the best cocktail I've had in months. It was deep, complex, nutty, and each sip seemed to taste a little different. Sometimes you got hits of sea salt and other times none at all. I don't know if everyone would love it as much as I did, but to me it was perfection and will be etched in my memory. Then there was the 60s era decor which felt natural, unforced, and authentic, almost like stepping into a time capsule. The atmosphere has a way of feeling comfy, inviting, and also discreet. Kasper has something special going on here that left a lasting impression on me. I truly hope to return sooner than later. P.S. Points for the crystal clear ice in the Whiskey Go Nuts - many over look this small detail, but I feel it adds so much and says a lot about the quality and dedication an establishment holds itself to.

I am so glad I stopped by this gem of a cocktail bar. The bar staff is genuinely friendly and extremely attentive. They have unique drinks that are tasty and the space exudes killer ambience. The staff even offered free shots to the patrons by the bar when they were doing their own for the hoorah. The place gets filled pretty quickly i noticed, so try to find a table earlier in the evening. I hope to have another business trip to Copenhagen in the near future, so i can make another stop at Duck and Cover. Five stars with no hesitation from me.

Duck and Cover is an intimate artisan cocktail bar with an interesting mix of drinks. It also looks like a great date place. We noticed a few couples on dates when we were seated by our server. I ordered the Colada Kalas, which is a colada with sherry, aquavit and lemon. I was expecting it to taste like vacation; however, it had a intense and bitter aftertaste that was not to my liking. Although, I did not order in accordance to my taste, I do appreciate the vibe of the place and will definitely come back to try other drink if I ever find myself in town again.

What a super bar here in Copenhagen. One of the many things I enjoyed about my visit here are the more upscale cocktail bars. If you select from the menu, the bartenders will ensure you know what you are getting and the drink I ordered was as advertised. Adding to its charm is its discreet location, dim lit interior, and just a great time overall. Hope to make it here again.

Wish I had had more time to spend here and try everything - then again, that could have been quite the blow to my liver. They really do a fantastic job here - its the oddly perfect mix of someone spending absolutely every second necessary to make your drink perfectly without then having you wait 30 minutes to have a sip. The night I was there the person behind the bar also distributed the drinks which seemed like a tall order but he made it work. Really impressed by the craftsmanship.

Can I first start off by saying that the cocktails here are AMAZING. The menu has a variety of delicious creations that change every few months, but if nothing takes your fancy, the awesome bartenders can whip up pretty much anything you ask for. It's a 50s or 60s style basement cocktail bar that makes you feel like you belong in an episode of Mad Men. Really chill and cosy but extremely classy. Great for when you're looking for something more laid-back, but definitely an experience in itself. This place gets pretty busy on the weekends, but the owner likes to make sure the atmosphere stays relaxed and the quality of service great, so expect a bit of a wait, even if the bar isn't completely packed. Otherwise go here on Wednesdays or Thursdays and take your pick of seating. This gem still hasn't really taken off as an "after-work" spot, so the bartender will have time to chat and you will really be able to enjoy the environment. 5/5 stars and quickly becoming an absolute favorite in Copenhagen!

A slightly hidden-away cocktail bar with excellent drinks and a cozy atmosphere. When we first walked in, a lady pleasantly greeted us and looked for potential seating. Unfortunately only the bar counter was available at the time but that was fine for the moment since we needed to order drinks anyway. A bartender quickly poured a glass of water for each of us as we looked at the menu. The prices are high and the wait can be longer than expected but the drinks are stellar! Once our cocktails were prepared, a table happened to be vacated and the nice lady who greeted us had no problem helping us move our drinks over. The interior is dark and subdued with more than a few nods to the 60s. The clientele was also subdued with no shouting or guffawing. I absolutely love a quiet, uncrowded bar and the bartenders are patient and unpretentious. This will definitely not be my last visit!

Yes. In all seriousness if I could leave a one word review, I would just stop now. Duck and Cover is like escaping the hipstermania of Vesterbro and walking into the 60s. It's not crowded, it's not loud, the cocktails are delicious, the service is good, the people aren't pretentious...basically it's a cocktail bar without all the things I hate about cocktail bars. #winning

It is so rare to find a cocktail bar where you need to spend 20 minutes deciding what to order due to so many amazing choices. I believe what I settled on was called 'Rock Islands' and was a heavenly mix of peaty whisky and honey syp. Divine. As earlier reviewers have also felt, the place is unpretentious and a welcome escape from the 'hipster hell'. I would have to say that we received some of the best and warmest service. Definitely coming back, maybe when my budget allows for it again!

Duck and Cover is an awesome bar in Copenhagen. I really enjoyed all aspects of the place. The atmosphere has a super hip, classy, and cozy vibe. Monty is a super talented bartender and made me some incredible and delicious cocktails - both ones I've never had and my usual favorites. His old fashioned was on par with some of the amazing ones I've had before. Great cocktails and wonderful conversations made this a top place during my visit in Copenhagen!

This place is almost too cozy as in it made me almost fall asleep. Maybe I'm just getting old. That, too, could be the reason. If you're past thirty and it's later than 10pm, maybe you shouldn't go here if you don't want to end up sleeping peacefully in their soft, soft chairs. The drinks are delicious though - and strong! My likewise sleepy companion and I had some colorful and delicious drinks, even though one of them was very tiny. I paid 100 kroner for that?! I almost feel cheated, especially since I'm one of those people that drinks a drink as fast as they can serve them. What can I do, I like the stuff!

Wow... this place blows Lidkoeb out of the water. Both in terms of drink quality and ambiance/vibe, duck & cover is superior. In fact, if this place were in LA, it would be my favorite bar in town! The drinks are stiff and delicious. The vibe is Danish modern living room. Wow what a bar. I can't wait to go back!

Copenhagens number one cocktail bar must be Duck and Cover. Everything is thought through and there isn't a thing the bartenders won't do to make your night extra special. They make all their own recipes and the menu is often changed. The atmosphere is amazing and they always make sure not to let too many ppl inside. I'm definitely a fan and I often pass this little pearl

I came here last night because I was curious what it was all about. The first time I tried to come in with my two girlfriends we could see into the bar that it was not busy, yet the bouncer was a jerk and wouldn't let us in. Probably trying to make it look cooler than it actually was that night. That knocked it down a star big time. But on a Wednesday night it's not too busy and it made me laugh since you feel like you are walking into your cousin's 70's style basement with wooden paneled walls and retro furniture. In that way, it is cozy. The bartenders are really great as well as the cocktails. However avoid this place on the weekends so you don't have to deal with jerk bouncers whose egos ruin the atmosphere.

I didn't really get this bar. I mean, I guess it has potential to be a cool hang out but it's not a very mingly bar at all. Each group of people just sort of stuck to themselves (that's boring in a bar). The drinks were ok but you're better off going to Lidokaeb down the street. It's not a bad place, the locals seem to like it. If you have a group, seems to accommodate well.

OMG, yes. Everything about this place is spot on. Love the interior. Love the drinks. Instead of ordering off the menu, just ask the bar tender to make you something of his/her choice. You will be pleasantly surprised. Love that this is not a rowdy bar - rather very hyggelit. So nice. I want to take all my friends here!

Had a wonderful experience tonight due to Sebastian Krunderup the bartender. This is a definite facility you will want to visit due to the uniqueness of the cocktails and the friendliness of Sebastian. Love this place!

One feels like ducking and covering when entering this dark basement cocktail place (two types of beers, one with alcohol, sorry cocktail haters). I tried the Spritzer with coffee and Aperol, nice and tasty but as always the chaser beer (Mikkeller dream something) was more climactic for me. But worth a visit for the sleek feel of the place and the far from gravity-defying interior with furniture you just wanna sit low on. You almost wish people'd be smoking cigars in here. Ideal for closing off a million kroner contract with your own very golden pen and a glass of whiskey.

We went here after our dinner at Pony per their recommendation. They have tasty cocktails but the staff can be rude. We changed our seats from uncomfortable ottomans that we were seated , to the comfy sofa across us when it became available. Apparently you are not supposed to do that at this bar. The waitress was being outspokenly fussy and complainy to other guests sitting next to us , about us! As if we didn't hear what she was telling . We ruined her plan to seat 3 people on the sofa instead of the ottomans across us. And it was "hell of an awkward thing" . She kind of ruined our experience with the poor service. My recommendation about this bar is - Don't change your seats once they seat you.
