Just for clarification, this store is fantastic and the staff are incredible. The low review is more of a reflection of the brand in general. I feel like the quality has been steadily declining. I want to love Duer, especially as a Canadian brand, but they need to focus on making durable pants again. It's rare for my pants to last a full year and at the high price point, this is unacceptable. Wearing at the pockets, thighs, and crotch is extremely common across all the pants I've tried around the 7 month mark.

I love my duers and have been a long term customer. This location does a top notch job with customer service, but my last visit was cut short because... the door kept creaking? Is this how companies treat their flagship store these days? It was loud enough that I was too irritated to shop and had to leave.

I called the store and spoke with Ali. He was extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful while helping me select size and style for an online order of pants for my son. I have always been impressed with the customer service at Duer. I've been a long time customer since they were dish jeans. Love the details they put into their clothes to make it comfortable and stylish for everyday living. Durable too! Not only do they have a good product, they stand behind it with excellent service. Thank you for your help today Ali!

I really wanted to love Duer since it’s a Canadian company but their selection and quality is lacking. We went in store to shop specifically for jeans, but unfortunately there was only one style for women with an inseam long enough for myself. I ended up purchasing a Girlfriend jumpsuit and the NuStretch Highrise Flare in black. Unfortunately the Nustretch Highrise Flare pants are already piling since I bought them at the end of January. I’ve only washed them twice and air dryer them so its not from the dryer. I can’t recommend these pants with how quickly they started pilling. So far no issues with the denim jumpsuit but i’ve only had the opportunity to wear it a handful of times.

Purchased the skinny black denim jean and I would not recommend. For the price point, nearly $200, the denim is shockingly rough and inside and out, like sand paper. When product testing I don't understand how this wasn't caught. I tried a few pairs on and they were all the same. Out of the necessity to own skinny jeans, which are impossible to find, I had to purchase them, but I won't be returning for another pair. But their women's t-shirts are great!! 10/10 would buy again.

I've been pretty happy with my purchases from Duer. But it's been a few years, and about 6 months ago I purchased a pair of jeans to replace my much loved Dutils that were faded and torn (just the way I like them, but a bit too much). The new denim jeans feel more like K-Mart specials you'd find in the discard bin. I doubt they'll ever fade, in fact, they scream "NEW JEANS!" Big disappointment.

The shopping experience was easy and relaxed. The sales staff made me aware that they were there if I had any questions, but didn't hover. When I did have questions, they were super detailed in their answers and told me to size down as the jeans can stretch up to an inch in the waist. Information that I never would have known had I just ordered online. These are my first pair of Duer jeans and can already tell they won't be the last. They fit great and are incredibly comfortable

The girl is very helping me! And also i call back to make sure my jean cutting length is maximum 3inch, not more than 3 inch, and the guy in the store was helping to pinch the length, i don’t know both name, but they are friendly and very helpful! Happy of my purchase in the store first time, good experience!

Yelp
Super comfortable jeans and great customer service. High prices but we will see how long the pants last. May be worth the prices.

Yelp
Went shopping here as I saw their pants online and desperately wanted a pair. Walked in and everyone was super nice, the vibe of the place was welcoming if not a bit to hipster. Their website even invited you to come and relax on their hammock! I thought what a cool place to go and get some local pants! Walked in and tried on a few pair of pants, was still looking around and asked to use their washroom. Was immediately told that I had to pay first as they are only for paying customers. I looked down at the four pairs of pants I was looking to buy, $160 each and thought where did that hospitality go. I still like the pants, I understand having washrooms for customers only but when someone is shopping and looking to spend $640 maybe let them use your washroom. I still like the look of the pants but did not at all enjoy my experience.

Yelp
I tried Duer 5 or so years back and haven't worn any other brand of pant or short since. I have 6 pairs of pants and 2 shorts. I just dropped into the shop in Gastown this weekend to replace the 3+ year old dark gray performance denims I wore through (crotch) - I bike commute daily in my Duer's. So so good. If there was ever a clothing product that I couldn't live without - it's this place.

Yelp
Gimmicky and pricey. The idea is great, making essentially jeans with modern compound fabrics that aim for stretchiness or water-resistance. Impressive sounding writeups, friendly staff. Hefty prices. The reality is more complex. From 4 pants: - My shorts are great. - One set of jeans are kinda OK, nice and stretchy, very comfortable. But has a tendency to sag easily, which isn't great. Tolerable overall, but not great. - The other pants are a massive disaster - totally falls off if I don't wear a belt, which I never do otherwise. - My daughter's jeans shrunk massively and she can barely wear them. Now, bear in mind that the whole point is for these things to be stretchy which makes it hard to really gauge how well they fit in a quick fitting room tryout. Also, one of the pants and on the shorts has pretty early signs of wear, so it doesn't seem like the highest quality material. Remember, this is advertised as hard-wearing, active wear.

Yelp
I have conflicting feelings about the pants I got here. I have three pairs, which I got last June - almost eight months ago. I loved wearing them... while they lasted. The point is that the two pair I wear every week have pilled and faded to the point of uselessness, even though I wash them as infrequently as possible and even then only on the gentle cycle - and hang to dry (as instructed). They move well, which is true, but they are not durable at all. I wonder if that's because the two pairs were a little nicer, not just jeans? I don't know. My husband, on the other hand, loves his pants. He bought something like 8 pairs in all different colors and styles. His are soft and stylish and holding up quite nicely. So, while the pants are fun, I probably won't buy here again unless it's just a basic pair of jeans. The pants don't have the best fit, not do they hold up to any kind of wear. Another point - the women's sizes don't go up very high.

Yelp
Duer for life. 10 pants 1 shorts. I can't get enough! The service here is absolutely amazing. The staff is friendly and the pants are the phenomenon. I joined their kickstarter awhile back and bought 5 pairs because I wanted the least $ per pant possible (and I've done my research so I wasn't worried). Since then, I've worn the adventure pants for camping and backpacking, the live lites for daily wear and traveling, the shorts during summer, and joggers for errands. I travel to Vancouver often because of family so I've been to this store 3-4 times now and nothing but friendly awesome people. I made a mistake during my recent trip to Vancouver when I failed to bring my Duer pants but instead brought my new mnml la denim. Less than 30 days of wear in the mnml's and signs of crotch blowout were showing. I needed new pants ASAP and I didn't want to just get a cheapo pair from H&M so I came by the shop and bought the Heritage Rinse denim. Size down because it stretches. I am 5'7" at 140 average build; I wear 28/30 in Duer I'm usually a 29-30/30 in Nudie's, Levi's, mnml's, JCrew, Scotch&Soda

Yelp
First of all I am a huge fan of Dish pants/jeans. It's what I call my magic pants. I have to go buy my Dish pants at Plum which isn't the best environment for shopping in as it isn't my demographic, however, I go for the jeans. I was walking by on the way to the Canzine festival and noticed this location. I actually noticed the sandwich board outside advertising these jeans. I was super happy that I got some black slacks here instead of at Plum. I have been meaning to get myself a second pair. This environment is more my style. The guy working there was super helpful.

Yelp
There's no way to describe how good these pants are. I will never wear anything else. I use them in extreme physical circumstances and for general use and can't believe how comfortable they are, no matter what I am doing. They are more comfortable and flexible than even my surf trunks. Amazing.

Yelp
After getting zero service at another Gastown jean shop that starts with D, I came here and had an awesome experience. Friendly staff, guessed my exact size so I only needed to try on one pair of jeans! Very comfortable jeans, shop has great atmosphere and helpful staff. Love it!

Yelp
My partner was hesitant to try a jean that featured so much stretch but I bought him his first pair 2 years ago and now he is a dedicated fan. He has bought SEVERAL pairs now and I also brought my brother down and converted him as well so that all his bottoms for work and weekend are from Duer. I plop myself down on the swing in store while they try pants on and the amazing staff always find them something new to try. The level of customer service is unlike anything I have seen outside the hospitality industry.
