Duetos da Sé

What a gem! We couldn’t reserve a table at a popular restaurant with Fado performance, but using Google Maps we found this amazing place. It was very low-key from outside. Once inside, it was cozy and clean. Food was great with many wine and drink options. Most importantly, we were able to see two musicians and their friends performing live starting 9:30 pm. It was a great experience for our party of 4. Would come back again in the future!

Updated Review: I came back here with a friend who was visiting because she wanted to experience and listen to some Fado music. We ordered the tuna steak again because we wanted to check if it improved from the last time I tried it and I wasn’t disappointed this time! The tuna tasted so juicy and just the right amount of saltiness! I also had the grilled octopus again and it was sooooo delish! Initial review: The tuna was super salty so I didn’t enjoy it that much. The octopus, however, tasted great. It’s a cool place for fado music!

Great spot in the old town, food was very tasty, nice atmosphere on the restaurant, the Live Fado is definitely a amazing addition to the night, although the service could be better. Overall was a very good experience and a really enjoyable evening.

Amazing food, very reasonable pricing and friendly staff. Octopus was very tender and juicy, hamburger was absolutely delicious. I also got smoked pork neck which was tasty as well. He made a special fruit platter for my 6 year old boys and told them if they finished it all they'll get lollipops. And this was all complimentary without me asking for anything. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed.

We went for dinner and the fado show and both were excellent. I would have to say our server was the icing as she was suburb and attentive. The food was elegantly served and very flavorful specifically the octopus and the sea bream and shrimp. They were a fresh take on traditional Portuguese flavors. The cod cakes as appetizers were nice but not unusual but our custard tart with cinnomon icecream were palet pleases.

Passing by this gem and saw they have a live Fado performance but it was fully booked. Went in anyway and the waiters were all extremely attentive and helpful. Offered a bar seat and was given some solid food recommendation. Minutes later brought round to a reserved table that people didn't turn up - I didn't even have to ask. Had an amazing meal, enjoyed the performance thoroughly and will highly recommend this place

Beware that the bread and water offered are not free, but that seems common as I have read the same done at other Fado spots. Unfortunately I don't recall the musicians NES but they were great. Though performing to a half filled restaurant, they seemed no less passionate about there art. The chorizo was quite good, cheese plate was ok, too salty for me but that is a matter of the type of cheese not necessarily quality. The gaspacho great, if you like acidity as I do. The best thing I had was the sea bass and shrimp on tomato rice. The seafood was good, but the rice is what I really enjoyed

Delicious food and wine! Romantic atmosphere (I especially enjoyed dining on the terrace). Great service! Everything made with love and attention to details.

The ambiance, the authentic fado music, and the food!! Great for date night. The food was on point especially the dessert. Definitely recommend

I was walking in the area looking to hear some Fado and grab a bite. Of all the places I looked at, Duetos da Sé was where I gravitated to. I liked that no one was outside trying to sell me on coming in and in fact, you might even get the feeling here that they don't even want you to come in; not in a bad way. The interior has an intimate feel and there is a warmth throughout. Service got a bit better and friendlier as the night went on. I went with a shrimp and rice dish which looked a lot better than it was. Their sangria was just ok too, but when I came for, Fado, was worth the price of admission. The performers played a mix of traditional Fado with some very untraditional Fado. I really enjoyed seeing the two different styles and they were extremely talented artists. I'm really glad this was my Fado experience in Lisbon and despite what I ordered being a bit lackluster, I would not hesitate to come here again.

Very bad service. Worst food! I came to hear Fado, the music was OK but defently not Fado. The owner greeted me like garbage from the beginning. Very rood! Said "All of you Americans like to complain" even though I am not an American it was offensive.

Terrible service but killer food. They have shows here but you must reserve in advance. The one we saw, just piano and singer, wasn't that spectacular.

An intimate environment with superbly crafted food! Seasoned to perfection! COD fish cakes, black Pudding, Octopus Salad, shrimp with Rice, Basil and Cottage Cheese to die for ! Martini's need to be dry!!!Music outstanding! There was only one waiter working the night we were there....never felt like we waited long for drinks or food.

Charming restaurant with great food! Carlos, the owner, was so accommodating! Cod fish and couscous with shrimp and ginger were delicious! We had trouble getting an Uber when we finished since, unknown to us, Uber does not go right into that historic area. Carlos showed us what to do on the Uber app and walked us to the Uber pickup location 1 block away. That was hugely gracious!!! We were too early for the music but listened to the musicians warming up. They sounded excellent. We would come back! Thank you, Carlos!

I absolutely adored this place. In the three hours I was there one night there must have been at least 15 different musicians all of whom were excellent. The food is worth the trip but the real attraction is the excellent excellent Fado music it Is played and sung byboth of the proprietors and their friends and guests. If you want to see great Fado you will love this place.

Duetos da Se was by far the best place I ate at while in Lisbon (aside from the mercado da ribiera). My friend and I were walking about and stumbled upon it. The ambiance is perfect and the staff, friendly and on their game. However, for me, the best part was the food: appetizer, main course and dessert. The group Fado Inversa performed to boot and made the evening all the more special. I'd definitely go back to this place.
