Duffy Electric Boats Sales and Rentals Newport Beach (PCH)

We rented the “20’ Premium Duffy” for 4 hours on July 16, 2025. The boat was BEAUTIFUL! When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised with the shaded patio waiting/seating areas. Nice touch! The main office also has many items including cooler bags, shirts, hats, and even drinks. So, if you make a last minute reservation, they can help you. I highly recommend the evening rental (5pm-9pm) as you will tour during the day, through sunset and into the evening where you can maximize the beautify of the bay. The Duffy had enough room to accommodate our rolling ice chest and all of the food and beverages we brought (fruit tray, sandwiches, charcuterie board and chips). Finally, the Bluetooth sound system worked flawlessly and sounded fantastic. Our party had a wonderful time and we will definately do this again.

This is our go-to company for boating in Newport! We always have a blast taking these Duffies out—whether we’re hosting out-of-state visitors or celebrating events like Mother’s Day, it’s always a fun and relaxing experience. The boats are clean, easy to operate, and perfect for cruising the harbor. The staff is always friendly and makes check-in and check-out seamless. A great option for a special outing with friends or family. Highly recommend!

What a great day! We hosted our team on a Duffy cruise around the harbor as a great team building event & couldn’t be happier with the service. Our boat was clean, well maintained & in great condition. We loved the clear directions, map of the harbor & assistance in setting up the Bluetooth speaker to play our own music. They even provided ice to keep our beverages crisp! Our team had the best day & we all agreed we need to make this a regular team bonding ritual! I plan on gifting certificates to our team this holiday season so they can replicate the day and experience with their friends and family!

Was visiting Newport for a friend’s bday celebration and she booked our group 2 hours on the boat. This was such a fun and cute experience. She told them the theme she wanted (tini bit older 🍸) and they decorated it so well! The banners, glassware, matches, table setting, charcuterie board was all included. 2 hours was definitely the right amount of time because there are no bathrooms abroad and I think anything longer and everyone would’ve needed to go to the bathroom. They also made cute posters on theme as well. Would 100% recommend!

We have tried them all and without a doubt, Duffy Electric Boats is the very best to rent from. They have the best boats, features and service without a doubt! We love a harbor cruise 3-4 times a year….always a treat!

This was our first time. We and 4 friends rented the "Old Bay" Duffy. The boat was clean and well cared for and easy to drive for us beginners. FYI, you can have the boat all open air, or you can easily zip the vinyl wind screens down if you get chilly. The renting process was easy and convenient. The people were absolutely wonderful. They were very friendly and helpful. We're already planning another day on the water. Highly recommend this company.

What an amazing experience!!! If you want to relax, bathing in the sun while listening to music or people watch, Duffy boats is perfect for the occasion. The staff there was amazing not only did I get a warm welcome but Andrea make sure I had a great experience. Andrea took my reservations and when I got there she made sure my party was taken care of. Duffy electric boats, the original location on PCH, is the absolute best!!! We had a group of 10 total and our experience was nothing short of amazing. The receptionist, Tia, was great and even assisted us in booking a captain so that we had a seamless experience on the water! I highly recommend them for your next Duffy outing.

I've rented boats from this place now for a couple years and I they are fantastic! Not only do they allow dogs, but the reservation and check-in process is always so easy and quick. Their boats are very clean and the waiting area is super cute. They have free ice and lots of parking. Plus, all the guys are sweet, helpful and informative for all boat-related instructions. My dog had a great 4th birthday cruise! I love this place!

I've been wanting to rent a duffy and take it out in Newport Bay for years and a milestone birthday finally presented the perfect opportunity. And it did not disappoint. The 2-hour cruise was the perfect amount of time to be out on the water and gave us the ideal vantage to enjoy the sunset. We selected Pink Fantasy for a little extra fun! We were a party of 7 and had lots of room - I think 9 max would be ideal but the advertised capacity of 10 would not be uncomfortable. The staff were both fun and helpful. They provide a great map that gives route options based on the time you have to play with - shows a high level of service. They warned me (as the driver) that the wheel was sensitive and boy they were right. I spent the 2-hours with hand on wheel at all times doing gentle corrections but I got the hang of it and was able to enjoy the cruise. When can we go again?!?!

I took my family on a Duffy Boat trip recently, and it was the most enjoyable experience I could have imagined. First and foremost, the service that was provided to customers was excellent. Everyone working there was extremely nice, helpful, and well-informed about the boats and the area. They gave us a detailed rundown of the boat's controls, boosting our sense of security for the duration of the trip. The boat itself was clean, well-kept, and fully furnished. Our family was able to spread out and enjoy each other's company in comfort thanks to the roomy seating and open arrangement. Cruising along the harbor was an absolute joy. We glided past picturesque waterfront homes, serene natural landscapes, and we even spotted a dolphin along the way. It was a relaxing day trip, away from the rush and bustle of everyday life, and a wonderful chance to bond as a family. My time aboard the Duffy Boat was, in a word, fantastic. The trip was unforgettable thanks to the impeccable service, clean and comfortable ship, and relaxing ambiance. I hope to come back soon for another peaceful boating adventure. Highly recommended.

We had a great 2-hour rental. Everything was as expected and the crew were very helpful. One of our guests was physically challenged and we received good advice and assistance in getting her on and off the boat comfortably and safely. Great time had by all!

We had a great experience! We rented a boat from 4:00-6:00pm ($299). It was the perfect time to catch the sunset. The boats seats up to 10 people, but I think 8 should be the max. We cruised along and admired the million dollar yachts and houses. We also enjoyed our snacks and drinks that we bought on board. I would definitely recommend doing this.

Took the kids to Newport Beach for spring break and rented a duffy boat for a couple of hours. It was fun cruising around and relaxing although would have liked it for the boat to be faster

Eight friends and I rented a Duffy on Monday afternoon. What a gorgeous day to be out in Newport Harbor. Our boat was beautiful. Well-appointed and well-maintained. Staff that greeted us and sent us on for 2 hours were so friendly and professional. We had a great time! And highly recommend them.

A couple of hours on Newport Bay is a great way to relax with friends, especially if they're visiting. The folks at Duffy make it all so easy, you just pay your money and turn up, and they handle the rest. We've done it several times and it's always the same. Fully recommend.

We had the worse experience. The front staff girl was so rude and they charged us $150 extra for coming back 15 min after the return time even though we had a reasonable excuse for being 15 min late. There was an incident going on and because of police boat waves passing our boat so fast everything on our table including foods and drinks fell down on the floor and made a big mess everywhere even on our clothes and all over the boat so we had to take extra time to do the clean up. Sometimes it's not about the money it's about caring and not trying to rip off your customers. Will never use this company again.

‍Duffy Electric Boats of Newport Beach is a great way to see the harbor. The boats are quiet and easy to maneuver, making them perfect for getting up close to the seals and dolphins. We rented a boat for two hours and had a great time exploring the harbor. We saw all the sights, including the Balboa Lighthouse, the Queen Mary, and the USS Midway Museum. We also saw a pod of dolphins swimming alongside our boat. The staff at Duffy Electric Boats was friendly and helpful. They gave us a quick tutorial on how to operate the boat and then let us loose to explore. We were able to go at our own pace and stop whenever we wanted to take pictures or just enjoy the scenery. Overall, we had a great time on our Duffy Electric Boat tour. It was a relaxing and enjoyable way to see the harbor. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience.

Such a fun and easy way to enjoy the afternoon. We have never been disappointed with this Duffy boat rental experience. The staff are always polite and helpful, boats clean and now the waiting area has been nicely spiffed up, and they have added some fun features like pirate hats, eye patches, etc for the kids. My grandkids and the whole family loved it. We will make it part of every summer trip!

The entire experience was very pleasant from the time we arrived, until we got off the boat. the staff makes everything very easy and clear. they provided ice, blue toyh access for music and instructions for an easy an very pleasant cruise. So much fun, my 4 year old daughter was begging to ride a boat, Duffy had a 1 hour rental for us and it was perfect for newbies in a boat, perfect day to go out and enjoy the breeze!

I've rented from multiple boat shops in the area and this place is by far the best. In addition to actually providing you instructions on how to operate the boat (you'd think I was crazy if I told you that some places just set you in the boat and wave you off the pier, but its happened to me at 2 other locations upon my first and 2nd time ever operating a boat, lol), they also give you an awesome map with some good quick instructions on how to use it. Felt safe taking off, and even better on the water. Smoothest operating duffy's available! In addition to having the newest boats, they also maintain them very well. Prices are competitive and the staff are the best in town. Would recommend if you want to have a memorable worry-free experience renting a duffy!

The Duffy boat ride was both amazing and slightly comical. While it was a bit tricky to navigate, especially when our map flew out of the boat, it added a touch of humor to the adventure. My out-of-town friends loved it, and the serene surroundings made it an iconic experience.

This was so fun! We had a group of 8 and were visiting Newport for our friend's birthday weekend. We paid $300 for 2 hours ($150/hr) and it was totally worth it. We went around sunset and you bring your own food and drinks. The front desk staff were very kind and the crew who helped launch our boat were super cool as well. We forgot a wine opener but another boat was able to throw us a corkscrew mid-sail . We drank and sang our hearts out (thanks to the boat's very loud bluetooth speakers) while the sun set over the water! Other things to mention are they provide free, unlimited waters and also told us to leave any trash behind as they would clean it up. Lastly - GO TO THE BATHROOM BEFORE GETTING ON!! and have fun. Can't wait to come back!

Easy and convenient booking process via their website. I needed a Duffy, and it was a little last minute because I was booking for a weekend. There were plenty of open spots online to book compared to other businesses. The pricing here compared to other competitors in Newport is about the same. The rate was $150/ hour. They have their parking lot with limited space so you may have to park on the street. When I arrived I checked in at the front desk and waited for the boat guy to lead us to our duffy. He explained everything regarding the boat and directions. For our duffy experience, we had a great time! We brought snacks and alcohol on the boat. We also docked back at the office to use the bathroom which was convenient.

This was at lot fun to do with friends. Much better if one of your friends is a Newport Beach local who knows the story behind all those gorgeous home in the coast. You can bring your own drinks and food. It's really beautiful to sail around. I believe it was $150 x hours, with a minimum of two hours.

If you want to run a Duffi and Newport, it's the best best place to go reasonably priced great experience been using it for over 20 years not the only place to go, but a good one

Arrived early entire group there and checked in. They send another group out in our boat and when we ask when out boat is going to be ready they tell us that "we are already out in the water". First, I'm standing right in front of you so no we are not on the water. Ended up sitting there for over a 1/2 hour while they launched yet another group before us(that arrived after us). Just disappointed. Also get there early parking is tight.

Our group of girls did a first time Duffy ride, Sunday and it was fantastic. The staff was excellent, helped us in every way to insure a fun safe trip. They even took our trash for us. Boat was clean and drove great!

I came here for my bday celebration with friends. It's BYOB which was so much fun. However, you'll definitely need a sober DD because sometimes other boats get close and any damage would be a hefty bill. Anyway, we all had so much fun and the staff here was great. I've been recommending Duffy boats to everyone in the OC area.

We had a great time yesterday on our Duffy boat in Newport. The staff all all very professional and courteous. The boat was a little older. New awning however. A little paint would do some cosmetic repairs. We highly recommend taking this fun Duffy boat tour. We did o Did a 2 hrs cruise using a promo and the trip was under $200

Wish I'd known about this place when my family recently visited me from the Midwest! Now that I know ab it, I can't wait to take visitors here! We had a 5-7pm Saturday reservation for a group of 10. I believe max on the boats is 12. Pricing we saw online was for around $200/reservation like ours, but I can't confirm that for sure because it was someone's birthday and I didn't pay for it haha BEWARE OF PARKING DISASTER!!! Not knocking them for this at all bc I'm surprised they have limited free parking at all, and their website makes this issue very clear. When I say limited, I'm guessing there were less than 30 spots. So don't arrive right before your reservation time like our birthday boy did. He couldn't find parking, had to park hella far, and so our boat ride was delayed 25 min. My BF and I got lucky and got the one open spot in the lot when we arrived at 4:40pm. The waiting area itself is really fun. There are a bunch of shaded tables off the doc, small bathrooms (VERY HOT, 2 stalls in women's lol), and a little shop in case you forgot anything - cups, ice, sunscreen, etc. Dont forget to grab a bag of the FREE popcorn inside! Everyone in our group thought it was bomb. Bring coolers, boxes of snacks, whatever you want! No rules re: glass because we brought on multiple wine bottles. Beware tho, 10 was tight on our boat, so max of 12 would be very snug. There's a moveable table inside each boat that takes up even more space. So just watch how many boxes of crap you bring. Lol @ the group we saw yesterday who carried on 6 large pizzas lol. The waiting area was fun because it's great to people watch. People get soooooo drunk on these boats (and beforehand haha) so the waiting area is quite hilarious. If you're coming from SGV like we did, believe your weather app! Yes, it's possible to leave your apt and it be 105, then drive 1 hour to the dock and it be barely 70! Luckily the plastic windows in the boats really do help to keep them warm on chilly days. We had some up, some down, and the ride was really comfy. Seriously such a fun day! Can't wait to go back!

So so fun! These boats are in great condition and very clean. The workers are all nice and helpful. You can only slowly go around the small islands in Newport but it's worth it. So nice to be out on the water.

I have rented duffys from other businesses over the years and this one was by far the BEST! In fact my husband said, "Don't ever use anyone else from now on!" They were great to work with and the booking process along with their confirmation call made everything very efficient. We were greeted by the nicest girl and although we were early, she was able to accommodate us. The 5 of us had brought food and drinks to enjoy and after a brief tutorial we were off. Those of us that had been on a duffy before were impressed with the cleanliness of it and our family from out of state loved every minute of it. We had a great 2 hour ride and the same great service greeted us upon our return!

Another amazing day on the water. We had a catered afternoon lunch? Snack? I don't know but it was flavorful and delicious. About 10 ladies and it was a gay ol time! Sunday afternoons are the perfect time. Not too much traffic in the water. Beautiful day, great people fabulous scenery, it was just a home run all around. Our lunch was catered by Bristol Farms. So yummy! Boats are easy to maneuver and you operate them. The map can get confusing if you don't know how to read it. Bluetooth speakers inside Duffy. You can't go wrong with a day in the water. Highly recommend for celebrating, out of town guests, want to do something neat for 2 hrs. The staff was great too. Every time so polite and respectful. Great both times I've come. (Pay attention to which entrance you drive into, it could be tricky) Ahoy!

Whattt Duffy's is awesome! Why don't we have this in the Bay Area? We came here to celebrate Amy T.'s 29th birthday and had the best time. We arrived around 5pm and were able to catch the beautiful sunset. We had a total of 12 people. It's a bit crowded but so glad we got to fit everyone. The best part is that they let you bring your own food and drinks!!! We brought Korean soju and bomb snacks such as turtle chips and honey butter chips. The staff was really chill. Buddy was awesome! Thank you so much for an amazing time! Would definitely come back :)
