Dukes' Palace Residence

We loved, loved, LOVED our stay and time in Duke’s Palace Residence. Our room was impeccably clean, tidy and neat. I would say the furniture and bathroom could do with a bit of a face lift and modernising but it didn’t affect our stay. It was a stones throw to the hotel where we could enjoy all the facilities. We enjoyed lunch in the hotel bar every day and drinks in the evening. The food is absolutely delicious and the drinks are fab. Every single member of the staff from the reception, right through to the bar staff are so warm, friendly, helpful and excellent at their jobs. Their interactions with us felt genuine and not put on, forced or over the top like in some hotels. The hotel itself is an absolutely beautiful building and I could just stand outside looking at it for hours! The location is absolutely amazing and everything is within a very short walking distance. We cannot wait to come back. Thank you.

A wonderful stay at this hotel. Just around the corner from Dukes Palace Hotel (30 second walk) to breakfast. Breakfast was of a good standard and had most things you would want all presented really well. Loved the Belgian chocolate blocks in White, Milk and Dark chocolate to tempt you, although it was a case of I shouldn’t but how can I resist a piece 😃. Rooms tastefully decorated and bed very comfortable, coffee pods and water replenished daily. Excellent location for the delights of Brugge (sightseeing and shopping). Staff were helpful and very pleasant. Would definitely stay here again if I return to Brugge. Great city break.

We LOVED the location of the hotel. The main hotel of dukes palace is opposite the residence where we had breakfast and where you have to check in. We arrived early from the UK and our room wasn’t ready so sat in the garden of the Duke Palace hotel and had a few drinks in the sun. The staff were so friendly and lovely. |We got taken to our room in the residence building and although it was slightly smaller than we expected, it had all the amenities you could want. Most importantly it was so quiet. The air-condition was so good, we actually had to turn it up on our last night as we were both so cold. |Couldn’t recommend this enough and have no doubt we will be back again soon.

Stayed here this week it has been wonderful from start to finish. Great location, beautiful rooms, fantastic staff who can’t do enough for you. The bathroom was amazing, comfy beds too. It’s just steps from the main square. Beautiful building too. I’d highly recommend this hotel!

My husband took me here as surprise for my birthday. Such a beautiful hotel in the centre of Bruges but tucked away discreetly. The room was lovely and had everything I would expect. The bed was comfortable and we overlooked the garden so it was very quiet.

Good location. 5 minute walk from the main square and the tower. Lovely hotel once we found it. Our room was not in the hotel itself. Another building called dukes palace residence. Felt like we.d been sent to servant quarters. Room was lovely just didn't get the 5* feel from it. 20 minute walk from bruge station. Not the easiest of places to find.

We recently stayed in one of the ground level residence rooms, which we loved. Outside entrance off of a lovely courtyard area. The weather wasn’t consistent while we were there, but we could see the value in that outdoor space once the weather warms up and outdoor furniture is added. The main hotel and the residence location are in a nice, quiet area but still close to the main streets. The room itself was spacious, and well appointed. Our room had a jacuzzi tub in addition to a standup shower. I tried having a bath but couldn’t figure out how to turn the jets down, and it wasn’t a relaxing tub with it on. There are buttons but most of them didn’t do anything. Some instructions would be nice. The other issue we had with the room is the thermostat was locked the first night we were there, not allowing us to turn the heat down. We checked with the front desk staff and were told by the gentleman working that it was supposed to be that way, and it would automatically cool at 10pm, which it did not. It made for a very uncomfortable night. The next day we asked again, and the thermostat was unlocked, allowing us to control the temperature. It was disappointing that we received misinformation and I am glad we asked again. We were told at check-in that breakfast was included in our stay, but when we went in the morning we were told by the host that it wasn’t. We confirmed with reception that it wasn’t. Not a big deal, but the gentleman that checked us in and told us it was included was the same person who told us we couldn’t adjust our thermostat. He had a trainee tag so we left some feedback with another reception person to pass on to the manager. We never heard anything back so hopefully they addressed it. Overall we would definitely stay here again, but we were disappointed in the service aspect.

This hotel is closed to the best bits of Bruges whilst still being quiet and off the main drag. The room was great. The breakfast you could have visited every day for a week and found new choices. The bar was reasonable. Only criticism is the WiFi. In an age of fibre broadband, the residence seemed to have a dial up 56k modem. Don't expect to stream smoothly.
