"Candyland for the Kid in All of Us Plate-sized, Pop Art–colored lollipops. Candied and dried fruits rolled in chile powder. Crackling peanut brittle stippled with sesame seeds. Gelatins of every conceivable flavor. Names you can't pronounce, much less decipher, even if you speak Spanish fluently. The Mercado de Dulces, a specialty section within the Merced Market, is a delight for all ages. More than 150 vendors hold down stalls selling dulces del país, candies made in Mexico . Even if you prefer savory over sweet, a turn through the market is an enjoyable experience."

This is a massive massive warehouse with more candy and sweets than I've ever seen. There are only narrow passages between buildings where you will most likely bump into people. Prices are extremely cheap and most items can be bought in bulk. Expect to there to be bees along the outside stalls because they love the sugars on the candies for sale.

This place and market is too crowded. But it is a very interesting "mercado" to visit in Mexico City. The amount of different types candy is amazing. One can find great variety oof Mexican candy and from different regions of Mexico. If you like sweet and candy, this is a place to know. Be ready to walk as it will not be a good idea to get there by car (driving) it would be better to arrive there by subway, taxi, bus, or even walking Prices are moderate and, again, if one likes candy this is the place.

This place has every Mexican candy that you can imagine and some that you wouldn't even have thought of. Just be careful with pickpockets. Go with small bills and always be aware of your surroundings. I remember seeing this local following people and peeking down people's bags. Stay alert and enjoy the plethora of candy.

Amazing selection of just about every sweet you can think of here at low prices. The only thing is you may run the risk of being stung. There was probably in excess of a hundred wasps when I was there.

Well, it is what it advertises, a candy market. Be careful with your belongings, take bags with you and avoid going here after five. The prices are worth it, I really found great things but you should go around and compare prices with at least five different stalls before committing. It's also an historically charged place.
