Dumplings, noodles & classic Asian bites, plus beer, wine & tea, served in a casual setting.
"Dumpling House in the Castro serves dumplings, buns, turnip cakes, potstickers, wontons, and Hong Kong-style wonton soup. If your dinner brain tends to want everything when dumplings are involved, you’ll probably welcome their shorter menu. The xiao long bao are extra soupy, the shrimp and pork dumplings are flavorful and meaty, and the wrinkly wontons are delicately wrapped and bathed in slightly spicy chili oil. "This casual Castro spot—not to be confused with Dumpling Home—is the neighborhood’s answer to any spontaneous xiao long bao needs. It’s easy to walk in any night of the week, especially if your internal soup dumpling clock is sounding the “need XLB now” alarm. The ones here come in those tiny tin foil cups that we truthfully find unnecessary, but they still hold their form when you pick them up and dunk them in the requisite vinegar bath. " - julia chen 1
"Don’t get it twisted—Dumpling House has zero relation to Dumpling Home. But this Castro spot is still a great option when your internal clock is in urgent need of potstickers. The space is usually filled with neighbors and groups of friends passing steamers and dunking soup dumplings in vinegar and ginger (the ones here come in those pesky tin foil cups, but hold their form when you pick them up regardless). And if you want to watch the entire life cycle of a dumpling, stare over at the TV playing the whole process on loop. " - julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez
"Dumpling House in the Castro serves dumplings, buns, turnip cakes, potstickers, wontons, and Hong Kong-style wonton soup. I tend to want to order everything when my dinner brain calls out for dumplings, so I welcomed their shorter menu on my first visit and ended up ordering a bit of everything—and you should, too. The xiao long bao are extra soupy. The fresh shrimp and pork dumplings are flavorful and meaty. And the pan-fried veggie and meat buns still held up even after I drove them home. One thing to note is that the portions at Dumpling House are smaller than other dumpling spots around the city—for example, the pan-fried dumplings were three pieces for $6.95. - LC" - Julia Chen 1, Lani Conway
