Just stayed one night dinner BnB in deluxe room. Hotel and rooms as lovely as first time we stayed there a few years ago although courtyard needs bit of TLC.. Excellent service from Aftab ( think right spelling) at reception. Dinner good although limited menu. Breakfast was fantastic and enjoyed great Scottish breakfast plus continental choice. Bed super comfy. Will stay again - especially as they have a couple of dog friendly rooms now.

Arrived with great expectations. Lovely setting in Kinloch Rannoch; beautiful building with tastefully decorated public areas. Warm welcome by girl at reception. Room clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Started off well…… |But limited supply of tea/coffee/milk/ water not replenished on 2nd day, shower didn’t drain and flooded bathroom, restaurant closed as no chef for many weeks…. Breakfast limited with no cooked options. No duty manager for the weekend- staff friendly and tried to be helpful but obvious lack of direction. |The hotel has such potential and with a bit more effort/direction could be great. However, not currently close to the quoted five star standard and in no way worth the price charged. Sadly, we left rather disappointed……

We so enjoyed our stay at Dunalastair Hotel! The building, grounds, and village were beautiful! The service was excellent! We really enjoyed the food as well as our waiter, “Gordon.” The young lady at the front desk was so friendly and helpful! The views in the area were amazing right from the suite window and we were lucky enough to see a rainbow! We would easily stay here again!

Just checked out of the Dunalastair Suite, and I can't help but feel a wave of emotion wash over me at the thought of leaving this enchanting haven. This gem nestled in the majestic mountains of Loch Lomond is nothing short of a paradise, and I truly hope to return someday never say never, right? ||Eugene, Shannon, and Habanni were simply phenomenal, makingus feel like VIPs||The hotel itself is a masterpiece, surrounded by the soothing embrace of the river and breathtaking scenery that captivates the soul. Every corner of this place is immaculate, reflecting the care and attention to detail that the staff pours into their work. Speaking of the staff, they treated us like royalty! The owner, Surya, went above and beyond by taking time out of his busy schedule to personally brew and serve us some of the best coffee I've ever tasted.

Exceeded our expectations. Fabulous accommodation very friendly staff …. Nothing was too much trouble .. beautiful part of Scotland with so many activities. Our evening meal was delicious with really fresh ingredients…. A great choice of continental breakfast, yogurt, fruits cereals etc with a choice of vegetarian or usual full scottish breakfast . We were travelling in our electric car and had a choice of the hotel chargers or a public faster charger right outside the hotel in the village square

Check in was speedy and efficient. However we were told there was no chef and we couldn’t dine there. Sent us to the Loch Rannoch hotel at a spiky early time - it was empty and we could have gone later. The room and hotel facilities are fine, all areas are well appointed and look recently decorated.||The blind was broken in our room. Mrs T reckons housekeeping did a poor job, with pee stains round the pedestal, poor presentation of the bed, and no wine glasses in the room. The sink and drain were disgusting, and one of the coffee pods was used which stunk the others out. TV channels are in a strange order. There were two young ladies wrestling with a giant laundry bag trying to stuff dirty linen in near the front desk, that should not happen in this class of hotel.||Breakfast was good, well presented and nicely cooked but I wish he’d asked us what cooked items we wanted. Service a little slow but acceptable. The wine we bought was stated to be from NZ on the menu, but it was French.||We enjoyed our break regardless, worst of all was the “dinner” at Loch Rannoch hotel which I reviewed elsewhere. There were just too many little things wrong with the place for me to recommend it or rate it higher than three stars. There is potential though.

We booked here for two nights to celebrate my 75th birthday! On arrival we were told the chef had walked out the week before and there were no meals but we could have a meal at the Cornerstone restaurant along the road but it’s shut tonight or go to the Lochrannoch Hotel 500metres west. After we were shown to our room (which was really nice) we went for a drink in the bar to be told we would have to pay cash for each round of drinks! As we sat with our drinks we over heard a lady asking if it would be possible to heat the food she had purchased in the village shop, she was given permission to use the microwave in the restaurant. When we finished our drinks we headed to the shop where the shelves were almost bare. The shop owner explained that the Dunalastair had been without a chef for a week and that it was not the first time the chef & staff had walked out! We headed to the Loch Rannoch Hotel for dinner only to be told they were fully booked due to people coming from Dunalastair. We were informed that not only the chef but the manager had walked out as well and that the Dunalastair hotel suites were in ADMINISTRATION !! We then went back to the Dunalastair and asked for a full refund the shabbily dressed staff member told us he could not do anything for us but did admit then the hotel was in administration. After consideration we decided to stay in the room (hungry) rather than drive 80 miles home. 75th birthday completely ruined! If we had been informed by EMAIL ,TXT or CALL we would not have travelled to this disaster. Rab Turnbull

Lovely hotel with super friendly staff! We stayed in the loft suite and it was very nice and a view of the area. Recommend filling up your gas and any snacks or necessities you need before arriving as it's located in a beautiful but semi remote area. Highly recommend!
