Pretty easy access on foot, a bit of a struggle to find parking. Breathtaking views, especially at sunset. Walking barefoot is an amazing experience, and a MUST! Great ice cream near by. Good destination for a family trip or just by yourself.

This is a beautiful protected area. It really did surprise me how large the area is. It was a shame to see the human ‘effect’ of tampering on some of the dunes with hand written names - it did take away from the experience. There are signs that suggest you shouldn’t walk along the dune tops to preserve the dunes, from the beachside however you can access the dunes and be respectable to the areas by walking alongside the dunes rather than over them.

The Maspalomas Dunes are definitely a must see when visiting Gran Canaria. The landscape is unique and gives you the feeling of being in a desert right next to the ocean. Sunset is probably the best time to visit, as the light and colors over the dunes are stunning, but it is also worth experiencing during the day. Walking across the dunes down to the beach is a great activity and allows you to enjoy both the views and the natural surroundings. It’s a good idea to bring water and comfortable shoes, as the sand can get hot and the walk can be longer than expected.

Definitely desert like, at one point I was a little worried with the warming sun, sand and sea breeze, but we made it back alive. Be careful out here. An amazing site to see and a must if you are staying in Maspalomas. A protected area as well, well done all those involved.

Incredible view. If you are in Gran Canaria, it is definitely worth checking out this place. Also, there is a free public toilet, which is very clean, and a small ice cream shop offering four scoops for around €8. ☺️

If you’re visiting this island, you absolutely have to check out this place. I’ve never been to a desert before, but these dunes gave me a taste of what it might feel like. It’s a beautiful spot, and you can walk all the way across from one beach to the other. I highly recommend going around sunset — it’s truly magical.

I recently explored the stunning Dunas de Maspalomas in Gran Canaria, and I can confidently say it was one of the most impressive natural landscapes I’ve ever seen. Simply fabulous. If you're planning a visit, I highly recommend a specific circular route: start from point 2, continue to 3b, then to 3, and finally follow the coast on foot all the way back to your starting point in a counter-clockwise loop. The whole walk takes about 3 hours, so make sure you're well-prepared,good trekking shoes are a must. The scenery along the way is breathtaking: endless golden dunes that look like a desert by the sea, the contrast with the ocean, and the peaceful atmosphere make it a truly unforgettable experience. 🚫 Important tip: Do not walk directly across the dunes. It’s strictly prohibited and damaging to the delicate ecosystem. Stick to the marked trails and paths, it’s about preserving this beautiful place for the future. Whether you're a nature lover, a hiker, or just looking for something beyond the typical beach day, this is an experience not to miss. Bring water, sun protection, and take your time to enjoy the silence and vastness of the dunes. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Gran Canaria. Just remember: respect nature, stay on the paths, and you’ll be rewarded with views that feel out of this world.
