We stayed at the Inn one night after a bad experience at another hotel. Steven was so gracious and welcomed us like family. It is a beautiful location, on the water. The rooms are spacious , spotless and decorated beautifully with antiques. The breakfast the next morning was amazing. There was everything including blueberry pancakes, sausages, bacon eggs and scones that were some of the best I have tasted. We are so happy that we found the Inn and will return I’d we are in Cape Breton. Thank you Steven.

Charming inn. Very clean. The breakfast was delicious and filling and the hosts friendly. Steven went over and above to help me out. The room was clean, charming and spacious. So nice having the back deck and the living room to hang out. The river view was calming, especially in the evening. Thank you!

Steven is an excellent host and chef. It was great fun to visit with him when we arrived as the only guests that evening. He upgraded us to a suite overlooking the water, and it was nice and spacious. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. It was so pleasant to watch the fog slowly lift off the lake.

We appreciated Steven, the innkeeper, waiting for us when we arrived later than expected. The rooms were clean and spacious. We loved the country decor, including unique and vintage furnishings. The included breakfast layout was wonderful, including homemade scones and apple pancakes. We hope to stay there again on our next visit.

Trucks all night long, the rager down the hall, and "you call that food?"——not one of these were an issue in this friendly, wonderfully relaxed, royally curated, riverside inn. I was even granted license to strum a few bars on the innkeep’s upscale guitar. Our only regret was the brevity of our stay, as we were en route to The Cabot Trail. Between the conversations with Steve, nightly live music at The Red Shoe Pub, and an eagle-populated, packed-cinder walking path upriver, we could have stayed a week…, or a lifetime. Maybe next time around.

Wonderful beds, clean, a very gracious host, delicious breakfast, great view from dining room and from our room that faced the water. Very kind to us, even when I forgot to let him know we'd be checking in much later than originally anticipated. Good trail in the area, terrific music in local pub The Red Shoe. Highly recommend.

Kind, welcoming, like old friends. The breakfast is homemade, and you will feel like you belong here. Mabou is a must stay kind of place. We drove from Digby to Pictou then Mabou- wish we skipped Pictou and spent another day here!

My husband and I made as spontaneous decision to make a trip to Mabou. We were lucky enough to find 1 room left in Mabou at this charming country inn. We were welcomed by our host and shown to our room. The room was lovely and overlooked the water. It was very clean and comfortable. Our host gave us some information regarding the Red Shoe Pub. He told it was very popular and we should be there a bit early to get a good spot. He was right as the Red Shoe Pub was very busy. The next morning we were treated to breakfast and people the coffee cake was swoon worthy. Overall our stay was lovely.
