Music in the background but able to have normal conversation. The Avocado toast was thick and soft. The avocado was a little sweet tasting and good. Came with tomatoes and sea salt on top. My wife got the dirty chai and I got a mocha. Chill environment with good food, drinks and service.

This post is about sustainability only! ☺️ I was thrilled to see your participation in this awesome plastic-free initiative with the city of Santa Barbara. Being an oceanfront town, it only makes sense to help give back to this local ecosystem. By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish, and it means a lot to me as a customer to support businesses that are doing what they can, with intention, to limit our everyday single use plastic habits. Especially businesses that benefit from their proximity to the ocean itself. I love that you provide real mugs and glassware to customers, and a dish bin to collect them when we are done. It makes it so much more enjoyable to sit on your lovely patio under the trees, and sip my coffee without making needless trash in the process. While it does seem like some customers having their beverages to stay are not choosing (or do not know about) the reuse program, it seems to me that you are promoting it well with signage. The discount for bringing my own cup is incredible too! Thank you again for being a good steward, and helping your customers to do so as well! It does not go unnoticed, and I hope more local cafés and restaurants here follow suit. As well as around the country. Keep up the great work! Also: genuinely great coffee :)

Google
Dune was the best, the vibes were chill, music was dope. Service workers were super knowledgeable and recommending my partner some drinks. And they have cute reusable cups! A must if you want good coffee and good vibes.

Google
Very nice coffee shop! It's in a great location, yet has plenty of space. The outdoor patio has comfortable seating with shade and plants all around, but was somewhat loud on my visit due to some people working nearby. The interior is spacious and has comfortable seating options as well. It was much quieter indoors than outdoors. The coffee quality was excellent. I got a cappuccino with their single origin espresso, which was very well made. I also highly recommend their espresso tonic. I visited around noon and got a chocolate croissant with my order, which I would not recommend as it was fairly stale. Perhaps it would be better earlier in the day. I did not try any of their seasonal drinks, but they were on the pricier side, which is to be expected for the area. I have also ordered beans from Dune in the past and I would highly recommend them as well.

Google
Very Santa Barbara vibes going on here. Young, chill and friendly staff. The espresso was nicely pulled and noticed the barista pulling a second shot cause the first one didn’t seem up to par. Heard about this place because of their recent barista champion and good to see the high standards throughout the entire staff.

Google
Solid food and friendly service. The black coffee was good and my vanilla latte was good but not exceptional. The aesthetic inside was nice. I have had better coffee before but overall would still come back here.

Google
Best specialty coffee bar (Anacapa street) and roaster in Santa Barbara. Among the best roasters in California. Consistently good lattes and single origin beans. Coffee bar has small parking lot but plenty of street parking. Friendly and efficient baristas.

Google
SPECIALTY DRINK SO GOOD I ORDERED A SECOND This coffee spot has a great little corner spot. Parking wasn't tough to find, it is in a walkable part of town, and the seating was ample when I went (which seemed to be a busy time, too). They had a Cinnamon Toast Crunch iced latte when I visited in September and I about lost my mind after the first sip, it was so good. I did, in fact, go up and order another one. I'd say the staff were reserved and not the warmest to walk up to, but that could be a personal preference bit for me. Outside of that, I really enjoyed this place and if I lived there would likely be there too much.

Yelp
Great customer service. I was in need of some caffeine after the drive up from Ventura County! I got an iced latte and it was perfect. I got my perk back. Great customer service and nice space with seating inside/ outdoors. The shop is clean and staff was friendly! I would def be back when back in town. There is parking but I believe it's limited to two hours fir customers only.

Yelp
Kudos to Dune to being open early during the week and on Saturdays! You'd be surprised: it's not always easy to get a cup of tea at 6am. The Song tea that Dune uses is delicious. I enjoyed several cups of their earl grey over the last few days. And with a splash of steamed milk, it's even better! On each occasion, the staff was always very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend a stop in! 2025: 27/100

Yelp
Needed a caffeine boost so we decided to swing by! We got the hot mocha latte and iced vanilla latte. The iced vanilla latte wasn't too sweet which we loved. I thought the hot mocha tasted like a yummy chocolate treat (but with caffeine). The service was quick on a weekend (during ucsb spring break)! There are indoor and outdoor seatings, so it's a great place to do work or chat with friends.

Yelp
Nicely flavored latte that had some berry undertones along with the tres leches flavoring. The matcha on the other hand was nice and refreshing. The setting was warm and cozy for either hanging out with a friend or doing work.

Yelp
Nice building with great open windows for people watching and passing time. I got a regular drip coffee. It had good flavor that didn't taste burnt but rather nutty and creamy and also had perfect temperature. For the same price as Starbucks walk the extra 2 blocks and come here.

Yelp
The cashier/barista was really nice and helpful. My husband was unsure of which pour-over he wanted so she gave her suggestions. Also I was worried my drink would be too sweet (haha it's called Cookies and Foam Latte) but she said they could adjust the sweetness. It turned out exactly to my liking! Also we got a breakfast burrito and it's good! We were surprised there's beans in it but for me that's a plus! The green salsa is great as well. There's indoor seating and outdoor patio seating. So many dogs here! Love a dog-friendly establishment!

Yelp
Immediately addicted! Wish we had one close to home. Cute place and great service too!

Yelp
As a first timer in SB, I took to TikTok for recommendations on coffee shops and almost every video featured Dune, so I knew I had to try them! It's a cute shop with friendly staff and a simple bit classic coffee menu. I went with a 1/2 sweet vanilla latte and a blueberry muffin, my aunt got a scone and a flash brew. My vanilla latte was amazing! Just a hint of vanilla flavor and sweetness, a beautiful balance between coffee flavor and cream, the perfect pick me up. My blueberry muffin was warmed and has the biggest berries in it which was a nice surprise. My aunts flash brew has a bold, smooth flavor and was perfectly refreshing. The shop itself is also cute, a few items for sale and I love the skateboard decor and greenery. Overall a great place to grab a delicious cup of coffee and catch up with friends or get some work done.

Yelp
The coffee was really sweet not strong at all. Ended up throwing it away after a few sips . Service was okay , not very friendly . Will try other coffee shops with better service .

Yelp
Absolutely charming a coffee shop in downtown Santa Barbara! My vanilla oat milk latte was delicious, and the rest of my family enjoyed the drinks they ordered. The pastries were also delicious! Stand out favorite was the almond croissant. Quality of coffee and treats are top notch! Plenty of seating on a weekend morning, and just had a great vibe overall.
google avatar

Aisha R.

Yelp
It was really bad coffee it had no flavor and literally was so strong! It was just okay.

Yelp
Dune Coffee Roasters is located on the corner for a frequented street, and the coffee there is tasty. I enjoyed their large iced latte and selection of pastries. The interior is also gives a modern, rustic ambiance, and they even have outdoor seating. The parking lot is a bit small, but it was not packed that morning. Upon walking in, the staff are friendly and patient to assist with orders. They also have croissants that have a crispy exterior but are quite crumbly once eaten, perfect if you enjoy the crunchies but not amazing if you want to avoid a mess. A friend of mine ordered the tres leches, and while it was tasty, it would have been better if there were cinnamon.
google avatar

Yelp
What a charming, attractive shop. The coffee is delicious, too. There's seating inside and out. The music inside was great. The pastries are very nice and fresh. The avocado toast comes on terrific thick bread. This is a very nice coffeehouse.

Yelp
Got an iced latte here. Better than the Goleta location. Quick service, busy spot. Restrooms- clean, well-maintained, all-gender and accessible.
google avatar

Yelp
Iced Tres Leches latte - need I say more? It's not overly sweet. It is perfection on the patio in the afternoon spending time with family and meeting new people.

Yelp
Nothing beats the smell of roasting coffee beans! Dune has great beans and smooth iced lattes. Love the outdoors seating at the Anacapa location. Always a must stop when we're in town.

Yelp
The Ethiopian Pour Over was so fun to try. I had some friends in town so we decided to try our local roaster on a Sunday morning. As usual it was packed and the wait went quickly. The vanilla latte was great and people watching with the coffee aroma, even better. They had three pour over options and I was pleasantly surprised to experience it and not even want a little sugar or milk. This will definitely be a must try for any friends who visit.

Yelp
Good coffee and banana toast for real would recommend, nice atmosphere also. Nice employees.

Yelp
Good for coffee but don't be in a hurry. Wish I could have tipped after the service. I had to ask the guy standing around for my pastry. That was after 20mins of no one working on the food order.
google avatar

Yuri J.

Yelp
The coffee here is one of my favorites bc of how "smooth" it is. An iced oat vanilla latte is the perfect way to start the morning. Baristas were SO friendly and latte art was stunning! I love the coastal interiors - very relaxing and chill atmosphere. Great spot for working (both inside & out). Parking lot is small, but we found street parking nearby and walked around downtown after too.

Yelp
I popped into Dune for a hot vanilla latte and saw the specials and was drawn to the iced Lucky Charm Latte! Ha! Couldnt pass i up! It was soooo good. They should keep on the menu especialy since hot summer days are just around the corner.

Yelp
Tasty espresso tonic + olive oil cake!! Definitely recommend getting here early before it gets too crowded with the weekend bunch
google avatar

Letti C.

Yelp
I had a chocolate croissant and a large vanilla latte. The coffee was really nice! Perfect amount of sweetness. It was a rainy day so the seating inside was at capacity but the staff was nice enough to let some of us drink at the counter until more room opened up.

Yelp
Super cute coffee shop w indoor and outdoor seating. Has organic matcha alternative milks and toasts along w pastries. Service was great and coffee is so good!

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop in Santa Barbara! Love their aesthetic and their drinks are so good.

Yelp
In a small town, with many coffee options, Dune stands out. Life's too short for bad coffee. Dune never disappoints. I'm typically a drip coffee person and drinking black so there is no disguising the flavor. Highly recommend Dune!

Yelp
IT'S A FACT ! You pay just as much for a bad coffee as you do for a good one. Of course my wife and I are coffee snobs so unless it's great coffee we're not too interested. We've been here a couple times before in the last 12 months and everything has been spot on. After our almost one week vacation in Cambria my wife and I decided to make a stopover in Santa Barbara on the way home. A good reason to have breakfast at one of our fav spots. We nipped over here from The Eagle Inn just before 8am on Wednesday. Parking on their lot was no problem. A polite cashier named Owen took our order for 2 x 12oz Lattes with 2% milk, 2 x Ham & Gruyere Croissants and 1 x Almond Croissant to have in. Owen asked if we would like our croissants warmed up....yes thank you. We paid upfront and sat at our fav spots at the bar height countertop looking out.....people watching. Before too long our Lattes in green porcelain cups with matching saucers were ready to pick up at the counter. I complimented barista Gabi for her nice work ! I ferried our 2 lattes one by one to our countertop. We sugared them ourselves. DARN GOOD ! Like I said if you like to drink coffee drink the really good stuff. Our well made rich tasting lattes hit the spot. YEAH BABY ! Our huge warmed up croissants arrived....some of the best croissants we have tasted. They obviously have a very good local bakery supplying these. TOTALLY DELICIOUS ! We loved our breakfast experience here. DON'T MISS OUT ! NOTE - With 20 million views of my Yelp reviews and pics world wide in 2023 I can tell you what is great !

Yelp
Great stop for coffee and pastries. Visited Dune this morning with my husband and two dogs. There's ample outdoor seating, fairly comfy, and dog friendly. Ordered Oat lattes - yum Ham & cheese croissants - flaky and delish Coffee cake - fluffy w/ just a bit of sweetness Kouign Amann- flakiest/lightest I've ever had! Everyone working there was very friendly, and the inside is bright and cheery.

Yelp
Cute spot- the coffee was tasty and the server was knowledgeable of the diff coffee beans - we liked the vanilla latte and the mocha. Came with nice latte art

Yelp
My lady and I were excited for our first stop of our day in Santa Barbara to a place we know well: Dune Coffee Roasters. The place where some specialty coffee shops in Los Angeles get their beans from, Dune is a staple in Santa Barbara for quality beans leading to good espresso based and pour over coffees. However, I'm sad to say we believe the quality of Dune has gone down as of late. We like to always side with a cappuccino when cold enough to have a nice drink that allows us to get a good taste of the beans. However, both of us excitedly anticipated our drinks and left feeling like we had a cappuccino with no quality of taste to it besides the milks we chose. Thus, it was very disappointing, but at least the toast was tasty! Ambiance is always great with a modern feel and lots of lighting to get work done, and the staff is always friendly with good customer service. However, I think they need to step up their roastery game... because it appears to be backsliding a bit.

Yelp
Food was quick to come out. Iced matcha latte and regular latte were tasty! Almond butter toast wasn't standoutish, but the ham croissant was great!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious vanilla latte. Perfect vanilla and sweetness level. Definitely will stop off again when In sb again. 10/10!
google avatar

Mecca B.

Yelp
Baked goods Yummy drink options Espresso options Alternative milk Seating inside and outside.WiFi. Good music. Quiet enough to take some video meetings. Yummy baked goods and they are fresh. Definitely a YES from me.
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
The most consistent, best tasting, efficient and best customer service coffee shop I have been to out of all the coffee shops in SB. I am a coffee snob and this place is worth the extra time to walk to get here rather than all the other coffee shops I have tried before that are supposedly great in SB. Their coffee and matcha lattes are so good. They steam and froth their milk consistently and pull their espresso shots tasting consistently every single visit I have given them. Parking sucks and the line is super long, but worth it. Keep up the great training for these baristas and keep up the great customer service Dune!!!!!
google avatar

Ryen B.

Yelp
Good spot to start the day. Oatmilk latte was too milky for me- I need a bit more kick. But the almond butter + banana toast was fab! Nice thick slice of bread and topped with lots of crunchy bits. Yum!
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
(Overall: 90% | A) - This hot cocoa displays pretty latte art while tasting reasonable. I found it to be on the light side, but by no means bland nor too rich. I would like to praise the high bar of service as even with a quick interaction, they were able to make the customer feel appreciated for their time and presence. The shop is cute too!
google avatar

Carolina S.

Yelp
I am huge on tea!!!! So if you're looking for quality tea, this is it. Jasmine green tea is delicious! I had avo toast as well. Also delicious. The service is fast and attentive. Venue looks clean and has a super chill vibe. Definitely coming back.
google avatar

Kevin R.

Yelp
Found a couple Dune coffee shops in SB both were outstanding The Barista's are really nice and still put a decorative top A few menu items tried the lemon scone it was good. You will not be dissatisfied. Picture was approved

Yael M.

Yelp
Dune coffee never disappoints! I've been coming here since October since their pumpkin spice latte that's when I got hooked! My go to is a Vanilla latte hot I never thought a vanilla latte could ever be that great but Dune's is amazing! Their ham and cheese croissant is chefs kiss as well and the cinnamon and butter toast. The service is always amazing weather it's busy or slow. If someone says otherwise they're just impatient or having a bad day. The overall environment of the establishment is very mellow and great for conversation with friends or coming to get some work done. You won't regret coming !
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
This coffee shop was around the corner from our Airbnb and we visited daily. Although we had our coffee to go I really liked the setup of this place with many seats inside and outside for working or meeting friends. The mocha and cappuccino was excellent.

Frederick B.

Yelp
Great light roast coffee. A little pricey for the size of the cups (8 ounces) but worth it for a high quality cup of coffee. I would definitely come back.
google avatar

Kathy T.

Yelp
I love that they have a few non-caffeinated drink options! I tried their Magic Bowl which is Chamomile Tea with Honey and Almond Milk -- it was so good, a great non-caffeinated drink option. Perfect sweetness and flavor from the tea. We also tried some of their pastries -- the chocolate croissant was my fave (so flaky!), the banana monkey bread and scone were also really good! If I'm ever back in the area, I'd stop by to try their coffees in the morning!
google avatar

Kelli J.

Yelp
One of my favorite things to do on vacation is find a cute coffee shop and this one did not disappoint! I absolutely loved my chocolate croissant and paired it with an iced vanilla latte. My bf ordered toast with jam and it was also delicious. The shop was super cute inside and out and the baristas were very friendly I'll definitely visit again the next time I'm in SB.
google avatar

Manny E.

Yelp
Being a huge coffee enthusiast I was definitely excited to try the roast they had at Dune Coffee! Upon entering I ordered their vanilla iced coffee and a couple breakfast items that where all truly amazing. Service was good. They have so many different varieties of cute snacks you can choose as well! I will definitely be coming back here when I'm visiting Santa Barbara.
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
Okay, my friends and I may have been "coffee shop" hopping (is that a thing?) and stopped by here. We ordered a couple of things and to be honest, they were good but nothing special. The iced tres leches just tasted like a latte with an extra light hint of milk. The regular iced latte honestly tasted better. They had a seasonal drink that had alcoholic flavoring to it but even my friend, a person who drinks 4 cups of coffee a day, did not like the taste of the coffee. Overall, as trendy as this place looks, it wasn't anything super special in my opinion but I can see why others come here to study and enjoy downtown.
google avatar

Shelby S.

Yelp
Stopped here recently to pick up coffee beans. I like to make lattes at home, so I'm constantly searching for freshly roasted beans in the area. Dune has a HUGE selection of beans. I didn't see a specific "espresso" roast, but opted for their House Blend to start. Delicious! I will definitely be back to try more options. The Anacapa location has parking and tons of space to hang, if you're in need of a spot to study or hang with people.
google avatar

Adelene H.

Yelp
Service- great! Friendly Drinks: *chai- good! *coffee- also good! Cleanliness- really clean Great outdoor and indoor seating, parking is not too bad either. Super cute atmosphere! Would definitely recommend

Yelp
While wandering through a heat wave, we decided to seek shade at Dune Coffee. I have seen their coffee bags throughout SoCal and I had no idea that they were based here in Santa Barbara. This particular location had big buckets of their coffee beans, along with a beautiful space, with a map, tables and windows to let light in. The counter displayed all the pastries they had left as we walked in on an afternoon. But I was mainly here for an iced latte. I got the tres leches latte. This is the first time I saw a coffee shop attempt to pull this off and the wonderful barista described it as a latte with sweetened condensed milk. Upon trying it, it reminded me of Peet's coffee's Havana Cappucino but without the cinnamon, and it was wonderful and not too sweet. As a previous yelper mentioned, while there spacious seating there are no outlets so please charge your laptops If you plan to stop and get some studying or work done. They also sell merchandise and coffee beans as well. I would go here again when I am in the area.
