Great hotel with parking. On entering the hotel we were met by Alex on reception. He made the check in effortless. He explained our room was up the stairs and he then proceeded to help us with our luggage (2 heavy suitcases). He is a credit to the hotel and we wished we had met many more Alex's on our trip around both New Zealands islands. On departure he did the same.

On the edge of town but adjacent to the wonderful Botanical Gardens. Really spacious room and large bath. In house restaurant was quite nice. Really enjoyed the Blue Cod ! Can get a bit hectic at breakfast with the bus crowds. Not too many channels on the television but lots of rugby (yea!) unfortunately the Highlanders lost ☹️

Kudos to the check in staff, particularly, Sally Guo and Aaron who are both helpful n hospitable in assisting my family especially my hubby who needs accessible toilet n Sally took the trouble to find us a room for that purpose. Also the additional night booked with Dunedin Lodge simply worth it as they made sure we transfer to another room with ease in terms of checkout n checkin time. Next to botanic gardens n 5 mins walk to supermarket n local community are what I'd consider n recommend to all who'd like to find a suitable n excellent accommodation.

Stayed here for one night on a road trip around both islands On arrival two 70+ people (us) entered the hotel exhausted. We were warmly welcomed by Alex and booked in. He explained that our room was upstairs. Not really what we wanted to hear but laughed it off and asked where the lift was. Alex then said where were your bags. In the car. 2 Suitcases. He then proceeded to come back to the car and lifted them out and carried them up stairs to our room. A truly exceptional and helpful young man. On departure he bought our cases down Alex made us forget other problems we had encountered. Every hotel needs a Alex. Hold on to him.

Beautiful hotel, right next to the botanical gardens. just 10 minutes ride by bus from the city centre. The room service was not the best. But great breakfast and really friendly staff.

Good rooms but best to eat elsewhere. Virtually empty restaurant at 7 pm so should have realised there was a reason. Only 11 other people in restaurant but still took over 30 minutes to get meal. Ordered fish of the day which was blue cod. Obviously the fish had been frozen and was over cooked. Very disappointed.

Very quiet room looking over the gardens. Cooked buffet breakfast was abundant and really set us up for the day. Staff were attentive but never intrusive. We had a very relaxing weekend and caught up with family. The Leisure Lodge is our first choice when staying in Dunedin.
