This Motel had everything you could want for a stay and more. I usually sleep with a fan and even a fan was provided. I requested a ground floor studio unit and everything was clean and inviting. The shower was great and the toiletries provided plentiful. Great stay. Definitely recommend this property.

The Dunedin Palms is a great value. We spent three nights there during high season. The location is excellent -downtown and a short walk to the octagon (center of town) and only 2 blocks to the Speights brewery/pub. It's located about 1/3 of the way up a hill. But it's not that steep and was not a problem for us.||We stayed in a 1 BR apartment and it was huge and very clean with lots of space. We appreciated the small kitchenette with a microwave, stovetop and coffee/tea. Weirdly, they did not provide milk (every other motel that we stayed at during our 35 trip provided milk) but we just bought some at a nearby grocery store. ||Free parking was a huge plus. Uber was easily accessible in the area and we took it to/from restaurants for dinner. Another big plus were the laundry facilities, $4/load to wash and $4/load to dry with complimentary laundry detergent.||A few downsides: there was some noise, including a garbage truck emptying dumpsters nearby at 6am one day. There's no AC so the room stayed warm on days in the 60s. Keeping the windows open all day/night helped. Also, there was a large outdoor smoking area with tables and chairs near our room. We were concerned that it might be an issue - either smelling smoke in our room or from gatherings and noise - but it wasn't a problem during our stay.||Overall, it was a great option for Dunedin and I would stay here again.

Pro's: Good location walking distance to city centre Con's: Rooms are very dated, furniture extremely worn, bed soft / saggy, seat on toilet loose and slips around. In addition to this there was no soap for shower (not even a pump both pumps in shower had conditioner), no milk provided and very loud pipe water noises throughout day & night from other rooms

Good motel within great proximity to the Octagon and lots of what Dunedin offers. Walked back from Forsyth Barr Stadium was no drama. The rooms are good enough, beds comfortable enough, plenty of off street parking. Overall a good place to lay over.

Very happy with our wheelchair friendly, centrally located accomodation. Nicely appointed fresh room and bathroom. Friendly reception with easy check in and departure process. Ample off street parking. Pleased with the selection of this property.

Had an absolutely terrible stay here. Checked in by 7:30pm through intercom key being in a lockbox, went out for the night arrived back at 2am within 5 minutes of arriving had aggressive banging on our door, yes we were laughing after a good night but only after entering the room which are supposed to be sound proof, 3 more rounds of the aggressive knocking I said hello without opening the door only response I got was "OPEN THE DOOR OR IM CALLING THE POLICE" I was not going to open the door to somebody I don't know or who have not said who they even are! My friends and I went very quiet after this and then had more knocking at our door from 6 police saying we had a noise complaint and had more people in our room than I had booked for (unsure of why this was even questioned as i never seen the manager and did not open the door when she was smacking on it) to which I then proved via my email the amount of people I had booked for was correct. Absolutely appalling I have never encountered anything like this before. A knock at the door with and a simple its the motel manager can you please keep it down would of been more than acceptable. We had only just got into the room no warning of us being noisy just police called what a waste of police resources for 3 girls eating pizza and going to bed! The Karen motel manager needs to get a life.

Was a bit sceptical about staying at motels as they aren’t always the cleanest but this one had great reviews on cleanliness so booked it as it was also a good location and suited the budget. Arrived to check in an hour early as the room was all ready for us which was a godsend after an early start to the day. Room was up a flight of stairs but easy access from the carpark. The room contained a Queen bed and single bed. Nice little kitchenette with microwave, kettle, sink, cups, plates, utensils. Bathroom had a large corner shower and nice vanity. The place was spotless, clean and fairly new carpet, furnishings etc. I’m pretty fussy but I couldn’t fault a thing. Forgot to take photos. Parking was good when you enter the main parking area. There are further carparks down a driveway which is a bit tight but I managed to park my big suv rental no problems. Walking to town was around 10 minutes with a slight short incline coming up High Street to get back to the motel. No vacancy at the motel on the weekend we stayed due to move in day for first year uni students but the property didn’t feel overly busy or chaotic and all other guests were quiet and respectful. Will stay here again for sure.

A great place to stay. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Even putting our bags away somewhere safe in the a.m while we traveled around. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Stove top cooking and a dishwasher available. Electric blankets on all beds. T.V in all rooms. Close to town and many facilities. Highly recommend.
