Dunkeld Manor

Sandy/ Sandie was lovely and welcoming as were the team looking after us. Great location with easy access to anywhere in Johannesburg. Rooms - stunning, mine opened out in to the beautiful garden with birds playing amongst the flowers. Huge bath and shower, big comfy bed, hot and cold breakfast. What more do you want!

Visiting for business and found my entire experience to be fantastic. Sandy is a fabulous host, the cooked breakfast with mushrooms is amazing and it just felt like I was at home. There is a shopping centre nearby with a great blow dry and nail bar - made my stay all the better as I took great hair and nails off my list!

On arrival there was a mix up with booking (Via Booking.com). The manor was fully booked but staff and eventually the owner rearranged the bookings to accommodate us. Payment was also an issue but they said this could be settled later. We had a ground floor garden and pool view which was an oasis amid the bustle of Johannesburg. Decoration and furnishing throughout the guest areas were top quality, lounge had an honesty bar. After a very good nights sleep the breakfast in the dining room was excellent. Host and staff were very attentive and Sandie even rearranged our evening booking at a local restaurant. Fishmonger in Illovo. If ever we are in Johannesburg again this would be our preferred stop.

The leafy suburb of Dunkeld, close to the ever expanding centre of Rosebank, provides easy access to the City. We drove straight there from the airport....at a quiet time only 30-40 minutes.....late morning and it took us an hour but it was a comfortable journey, no problems. Dunkeld Manor maintains its high standards of friendly reception, comfortable large rooms with a delightful huge bed...choose from 3 rooms upstairs or the garden rooms giving direct access to a lovely garden. Our stay was peaceful and very satisfying. We will have no hesitation in returning.

A lovely, helpful and welcoming B & B in a quiet and secure street ten minutes' walk from the shops and restaurants of the Rosebank Centre, though Uber or similar was more appropriate for getting back in the evening. Delicious breakfasts. Charming garden with a small pool....a bit too cold to use when we visited. A misunderstanding over transport arrangements from Joburg Airport was rapidly resolved

This is a brilliant place to stay in JHB. Massive, well appointed en-suite bedrooms... super comfy beds, a gracious sitting room with a well stocked courtesy bar... an excellent breakfast in a very elegant dining room overlooking a perfect garden and a sparkling swimming pool. An expansive driveway... ample parking... and really, really good wifi. And the security is tiptop. Fabulous staff and with Sandi at the helm... home from home. Well priced and way above the norm compared to many of the other places I stay in when I come to Johannesburg.

This spot was booked for me by my publisher. As always, I find Joburg incredibly intense and overwhelming, and Dunkeld Manor was exactly what I needed to have a safe, quiet spot where I could escape and decompress before and after a very busy event. My room was large and airy, and I was really grateful that I could access the wifi, as I needed to catch up on work. Even better was taking a short break out in the lovely garden. Breakfast was absolutely delicious.

The Manor is located in a residential area and just over a kilometre from a large, modern mall. Check in and check out worked well. The wifi was good. What was most impressive was the care we received from the owner and staff. They went out of their way to assist us and to make our stay enjoyable.
