"Jamaica's most touristy site—famous for being featured in the James Bond movie Dr. No. —is also one of its most beautiful, in spite of the countless bodies that visit and attempt the climb daily, both locals and tourists. The view of the falls is spectacular. And call it cheesy, but it's actually fun trying to ascend stone steps while being splashed by 600-foot-high powerful falls that cascade down into a jade pool. Grab a licensed guide on-site if you need one, otherwise latch on to one of the human chains you'll spot when you arrive. The falls are just a stone's throw from Ocho Rios, so any route or shared taxi will make a stop here for a few bucks."

Beautiful waterfall, definitely a must see/do when in Jamaica. You can hike up the fall and enjoy the water. If you’re fit and comfortable going against raging water, you don’t really need a guide. We rented a car and did the hike ourselves without a guide and enjoyed it since we didn’t feel rushed to get anywhere. Go all the way down to the beach and work your way up. We got there when it opened so we were able to enjoy the park to ourselves for a while. When we were leaving, we started to see bigger groups come in. It’s a little commercialized, but still an amazing site to see!

This is a must do excursion!! Such a natural beauty. Make sure you wear water shoes that have great grip. The photographer does a great job in videoing and snapping pictures in the moment. Totally worth buying.

This was an absolutely amazing experience! The walk to get up to the falls was though but we made it! We took the catamaran to the falls with the package we got! The views was just incredible. The tour guide was great, so nice, helpful and funny. It was a great experience. Few spots to get souvenirs which was great (beginning and after the falls). It is about an hour to get up there just with everyone who is doing it, so be prepared. Don’t take your purse and make sure to have a waterproof case for your phone because you’re gonna want to take your phone.

By far, the best Sandals I have ever been to. The staff were fantastic and the food and drinks were amazing. We did scuba diving and snorkeling. Enjoyed the fine restaurants and all the entertainment in the evenings. Security was amazing because we never got hassled on the beach. My only complaint was not with Sandals but American Air Lines. We had mechanical issues going and coming home. We lost a day of our vacation because of the airline. Thank goodness we had insurance for the trip. I will never fly American again.

Hey, we are Vicky 🇵🇪 and Malte 🇩🇪 from the travel blog "Traveling Is Our Passion." For our full one week Jamaica road trip itinerary including driving tips and top stops, check out our full Jamaica road trip blog article. Dunn’s River Falls is one of Jamaica’s most famous natural sights. The waterfall stands about 180 feet tall and stretches 600 feet across. It’s a fantastic place to climb the rocks and enjoy the cool water. Free parking makes it easy to visit by car. Before you enter, stop by Travis’s small souvenir shop nearby—he has great prices and sends warm greetings from us, the Peruvian-German couple. Tickets cost 25 dollars for adults and 17 for children, with lockers available to rent for 8 dollars to keep your belongings safe. We recommend bringing water shoes or buying a pair at the entrance for around 10 dollars, as the rocks can be slippery. If you want to avoid the busiest times, come early at opening, but be prepared to explore on your own at first. Later, guides help groups form a chain to safely climb the falls. You can choose different spots to start or finish the climb. Climbing Dunn’s River Falls was an exciting and memorable experience. It’s a unique activity that stands out even among other adventures in Jamaica.

What a beautiful experience! I spent the day at the beach and climbed the waterfall. I went on a weekday, so it wasn’t overcrowded. The water was a bit chilly, but my body quickly adapted. The park was beautifully maintained, and the restrooms were clean as well.

Absolutely worth every moment! We went there for Father’s Day, and it was a great experience. The prices are reasonable—locker rental costs $1,450, and you get $450 back once you return the key with your receipt. The beach is kid-friendly, and the falls aren’t too slippery, but definitely wear beach shoes for safety. The water playground was our favorite part!
