This church is quite impressive for the amount of light that it has. This is built on a Roman foundation and very large.

The old church is definitely sentimental and undoubtedly worth to visit! The walls and rocks are beautifully preserved and restored. So are the lightings…

This place was a surprise. Most of it is actually underground. Inside, the frescos and the ornaments are just breathtaking. If you are in Brescia, do not miss this place. It is well worth it. Entrance is free but I am sure you will be willing to part with a couple of € to light a candle. 😁 After your visit, go chill at one of the cafes for a and watch the world go by.

Beautiful old church. I love the walls & flooring. We went during Christmas time and saw the small displays of Jesus' time. It was quite impressive.

It is kind of odd because right in front of the church there is a square where people can eat and drink while some buskers are performing but the atmosphere is really nice and appealing to just sit there and relax while sipping spritz after a long walk. The castello on top of the hill where you can see the whole city, is just 13 minutes away by foot.

Very nice Romanesque cathedral with unique works of art. Beware the opening times as they can be problematic for the average visitor without too much time to spare. The whole church has a permanent exhibition which mostly consists of panels with pictures and explanations on the history of the building. Notable are the crypt and the main chapel behind the high altar: it contains several beautiful pieces of both fresco and painting.
