My new favourite. Hands down the best coffee in the town. Their coffee bean blends are chefs kiss. Their latte art is perfect 👌🏽. They keep it simple and love their work ethics and culture too. You see same cute faces everyday and they remember you very well and that’s how you build customer relationship. Kudo guys

Someone purchased a coffee for me from here the first time and the coffey was not bad so I decided to try it again and go there myself. The coffee was also good on this occasion and would try them again when in the area.

Located directly across from the Perth Mint, Duotone Cafe is a bustling spot that’s clearly popular with both locals and visitors. With a small kitchen and a solid selection of sandwiches and pastries, it caters well to those after a quick bite or a caffeine fix. Being a busy cafe, the vibe can feel a little “all business” during peak times, and you might miss the more relaxed atmosphere of some quieter spots nearby. That said, this is to be expected for such a well-frequented location. The food is delicious and on par with other cafes in the CBD, offering quality without reinventing the wheel. The coffee, however, is a standout, meeting the high standard you’d expect from a top-tier city cafe. Overall, Duotone Cafe is a reliable option for a quick coffee or snack when you’re in the area. It’s not a bad spot to pop into, especially if you’re visiting the Perth Mint or just passing through the CBD.

Dropped into Duotone for a quick breakfast and was met with smooth service and a calm, minimalist vibe. I had the chilli scrambled eggs with feta and herbs on sourdough — soft, creamy and with just enough heat to wake you up. Coffee was solid too — my long mac topped up came out hot and well-balanced. There’s a gentle hum to the place, tucked slightly off the main strip, making it ideal for a quiet solo start to the day. Would definitely swing by again on the way into work.

With ultra-friendly baristas and one of the better coffees in Hay Street, it's not hard to see why there's a steady stream of the office crowd circling in and out this cafe. Worth a walk to on a windy day, even if you can't get a seat. I just wish they open later, but who am I kidding, it's Perth and I don't wake up at 6 in the morning.

As a cabin crew, everytime I visit Perth I will always choose Duotone Cafe for my breakfast. The Chicken Avo Panini is extremely delicious and they have one of the best hot chocolate I had in my life! Although the shop is quite busy in the morning but the crews are helpful and friendly!

Best coffee in Perth. I struggled to find a good coffee but found this place was worth the walk in the morning. Online ordering system is flawless also. Food is just the basics but fine if you're just after a toastie or ham cheese croissant.

Just dropped in for a quick breakky and coffee. There’s a steady stream of people grabbing coffees and it’s clear why. My coffee (mug of skim latte) is pretty perfect - nice roast, strong taste, temperature perfect with latte art and comes served in a very pretty mug if you’re not getting take away. Coffee is a definite 5 stars! 3-4 stars for the food - the breakfast wrap was indeed very very thin - tasted good but could definitely do with more filling.

Pretty good. They have fresh cream :) Some gluten free foods, some snacks that look healthy and fresh. My chia seed pudding was good if a little too sweetened for my personal preference

We were in Perth, travelling from the U.S. and we went here for breakfast because a.) they were open early and b.) they had batch brew coffee, and we were tired of cappucinos. Duotone is awesome! Our favorite item was the Singapore Crab Chili Omelet.. O.M.G... Amazing!! I wish I could have it again and we are sad it is no longer being offered :(

A friend suggested a rendezvous in East Perth - finally, a chance to check out DuoTone! I'd been seduced by their healthy bowls and creative lattes on social media for months. This bright, cheery spot is refreshingly modern for this part of the city. It's directly opposite Perth Mint and hard to miss given the bright yellow stools outside. The music was upbeat and staff were energetic and smiling. The cabinet was full of sweet and savoury goods, although only one dairy-free wrap in the latter category (vegetarians well catered for with halloumi though). I resisted the vegan pumpkin loaf and chose a chai. Alas, they were out! Not a problem, as I'm now a matcha junkee. The cup and saucer were gorgeous and my drink was delightful. It wasn't bitter at all and a good value mug of around 300ml. Whether it's tea or something stronger, dainty drinks are never my thing. My friend and I chatted away for about 90 minutes and saw a mixed crowd - business folk, tourists and families. At least three Uber Eats bags went out the door too! Be warned: you have to run across the street to the mint for restrooms. This cafe is intimate but so refreshing. I'll definitely be back when I'm on the city's eastern edge.

Flat white, Matcha latte, flat white, matcha latte, flat white, matcha latte. That's pretty much what I ordered every single time. Oh of course I had the pastries too and the DuoTone smoothies!!! I used to work at East Perth and that was my local, not the closest one but just knowing nice hot drinks are waiting for me at the end of the trips makes walking worthwhile. Lovely decor, very simple but eye catching colours. The DuoTone team is lovely, very friendly and attentive.

This was a nice little coffee shop that was just around the corner from my hotel. Actually, it was the last day that I was in Perth that I decided to go and explore some of these shops (though there were a couple of other things that I was doing in the morning as well). The shop was rather quiet, but did have a really nice charm about it. The coffee was also pretty good as well, but then that was what I had come to expect with Perth.

Duotone is just located across the road from Perth mint. It's on the way into my office so decided to drop by with my bff who accompanies me to most of my food adventures You can definitely get an amazing cup of coffee from here My only complaint is always the fact of Perth pricing for coffee which is always 25 to 30% more than everywhere else in Australia Duotone definitely makes your coffee with love and they're a great bunch of guys and we understand your pain of overheads here in Perth! There is nice range of bruschettas to pick from in the menu as well as all the baked goodies on display I ordered the balsamic mushroom aioli bruschetta and it was absolutely delightful! Will be back again to have this for brekky again soon!!

* Matcha latte: 5/5 (THE best in Perth that I've tried so far!) * Quesadillas: 4.5/5, was a tiny bit oily (oil was dripping out ) * Raw choc super smoothie: 5/5 (one of those smoothies that actually tastes healthy AND delicious, 110% better than Boost juice ) The space is quite small, so it's ideal for a 2 person meal, not a group.

Nice little place with decent coffee and staff. I enjoyed my black rice chicken salad quite thoroughly. Coffee wasn't too bad but needed some improvement as was a but bubbly. I'd return for sure to give it another go at some point, too bad it's so deeply entrenched in the city !!

One of the best joys in life is to be able to go to a breakfast place at a very early time in the morning (ie. 6AM), when people are still asleep in their bed and struggling to get up. Why is that you asked? It's because you can see what's happening behind the scenes in the kitchen. From the preparation of setting down heaps of green tea croissants to preparing the first batch of very fresh bagels, it felt like we had the place all to ourselves! I heard a lot of good things about DuoTone but they only opened during the weekday. DuoTone was very easily located, just right across the Perth Mint and I was so happy that I managed to go there on one very early Friday morning (finally!). I bought the delicious breakfast bagel, filled with the usual breakfast ingredients such as egg and bacon. The bagel was easy to eat and very filling. Alvin offered me a bite of his very fresh green tea croissant and the flaky pastry was just amazing! That morning we also tried the buttery turmeric latte which tasted very turmeric-y when we got to the bottom part of it. I wasn't too keen on it although turmeric lovers will rejoice at the taste of the latte. As the morning went on we saw a flow of customers who ordered some take-away breakfast and coffee. It was a good morning and probably the last coffee catch up that we could have with Alvin before he move away to Sydney :-).

Fabulous place for a matcha! The flavour of the matcha is so well balanced and yummy. Food is delish too...sandwiches, bagels, toast and salads...I'm trying to try everything!

This places food is good, but service is a problem. Their tables are dirty and not cleared, the whole place was dirty and you could tell it wasn't just from the three hours they'd been open. I have read similar reviews on Instagram to what I experienced and they always have an excuse. I live around the corner though so I know they aren't short staffed they have the same number on most days. The problems with this place are problems that need to be fixed to make it a good breakfast place. The coffee was okay and the food was nice but the experience all together was disappointing

This Is a nice little place to have a breakfast and coffee. The set up is nice and food is decent but nothing to brag about. The mocha I got was fantastic that's mainly this place is a 4 star and 3! Now pricing isn't too much it reasonable, nothing to break the bank. Wouldn't really recommend this place if someone asked where to get a good breakfast. Enjoyed it though.

Duotone do everything well, brewed coffee, cold drip, awesome breakfast toast combinations. Decor is on point and friendly helpful service, what else do you need. Best coffee shop iv been to in Perth.

Great service and delicous coffee Redeemed the free coffee deal and they upgraded it for no extra charge! They changed my friends coffee to a Matcha Latte with no issue. Mushroom and balsamic toast with a perfect flat white. I'll be back! Nice service too! Update: I came back! Smashed avo is excellent and has a nice balance of avo, greens, herbs, spices, egg, cheese, and nice bread. Cappuccino is giving me life ;) The menu doesn't have the super cheap special like last time... but it's also much busier so I can't blame them!

We are south west spoilt for choice foodies! So a quick search of Yelp whilst visiting Perth city on a school holiday break revealed this little gem on Hay Street near where we are staying. Really loved the styling of this cafe, maybe felt a bit nervous about sharing the large table with other diners (and snippets of their conversation!) but got over my shyness once our food arrived. I've been on a healthy eating journey for 6 months to date and their simple but healthy well thought out menu really hit the spot for me. We tried three meals between us and all rated highly. The press juice combos really were delicious and my son was so impressed we took a spare for his hockey clinic! I really want one of those cup and saucer sets and the milk jug to use at home, maybe they could sell them along with the other goodies lining the shelves.

Decided to try this out for the first time with a friend after seeing their photos on Instagram. Very pleased with the service, how friendly the staff are and how incredibly nice the food and coffee tasted! Highly recommend to check this place out :)

Popped by here this morning with a friend for coffee. The place is so aesthetically pleasing. It's quite a small place but there are a few seats available if you're keen to have your takeaway there (they only serve takeaway). Coffee was excellent and awesome service. They do these great breakfast deals from 6-9am where you can get toast and coffee for $10. Friend ordered the mushroom balsamic toast which looked incredible. Definitely keen to come back for food!

Friendly, fast and delicious food. We had coffee - latte and cold brew, a ham and cheese toastie, smoked salmon bagel and acai smoothie. Everything was spot on, will definitely be returning

This is my favourite place for a matcha latte in the city. It's so close to work in East Perth and always has a wonderful, friendly atmosphere. The toast toppings are yummy and the salads are so inventive and delicious

Fantastic little breakfast place. Great staff and they have a fantastic toast and coffee deal for $10. There is a variety of different toast with delicious combinations of fresh fruit and vegetables on it. They also offer to sell the coffee beans they are currently brewing. Was so good the first time that I decided to go back on the Saturday (based on the times on Yelp) unfortunately it wasn't open during those hours. Definitely would visit again

A lovely spot to get a coffee yesterday! While I got a tasty flat white, they have a great range of black coffees and cold brew on the menu. It's just across from the Perth mint, and is an unexpected gem at this end of town.

Good quality food and coffee. Service is slow, coffee is slow and lacks polish. Good atmosphere but if you are in a hurry or enjoy prompt attention best to keep walking.
