20 Best Beaches in Europe

"In the summertime, swimming in the shadow of Durdle Door — a massive rock arch that plunges into the sea — is an otherworldly experience. And when temperatures start to dip, a hike along the cliffs is something you won't soon forget." - Travel + Leisure Editors

DDB5794301||This is a lovely place to camp! I have to say, this is the CLEANEST toilet and shower facilities I have ever seen at a campsite, they are extremely well maintained! I love that there is a fridge to share, which makes camping easier! Good washing up facilities too. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. They have a really nice park for the kids and it fits in nicely into the woodland around. ||The Man O War pub is nice (albeit a bit expensive). ||The only reason this review does not get 5 stars. |The shop could do with being open longer, both earlier to open and later to close. The actual area to pitch your tent on is on quite a slope, so not the easiest to pitch up or sleep on. ||Apart from going to see Durdledoor (and be prepared for a hike to get there and back) there isn't much to do in the local area, if you don't drive it would feel quite restricted with not much going on.. That's no fault of the holiday park - just a little tip that might help a fellow traveller!

DDB5791704||The Rookery was the best spot to pitch up our little tent on what seemed to be the hottest weekend of the year! It was so nice and cool under the trees. Bathrooms were spotless. Washing up facilities, fridge and microwaves at arms length. Nearest site to the durdle door beach which is a plus. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Man o’war is the perfect place for some drinks or some dinner after exploring the beach. It’s also a ten minute drive from Lulworth Cove. We will definitely be visiting again.

Our holiday here did not get off to a good start as we were turned away and threatened with no refund as we did not have fixed cupboards in our van. We explained this over email when we booked that we have a van converted to our needs with a fixed bed etc but no cupboards but this was overlooked. Ready to turn us away having driven 2 hours to get there, we were very fortunate to have brought a tent that we were taking to a festival a few days later so we were able to be squeezed in but with no electric hook up that we had paid for. There seemed to be a lot of rules in the site making it not the most pleasant experience being there and then not all of these were enforced with parrots being allowed to sit at the table in the restaurant and people blaring music at 7am when packing up. I could only recommend this campsite based on the location and nothing else.

I can imagine if you're staying in the statics this would be a great place to stay. For camping, there's hardly any space and it's quite sloped so it's VERY overpriced for the choice of where you can camp compared to other campsites. The facilities are good, the location if you want to go to Durdle Door is perfect and Man O'War restaurant is great. They're very strict on tents being 6 metres apart which is a real challenge if you have 2 tents due to the limited space, so I wouldn't recommend this site if you're camping with friends unless you're happy possibly not being together.

Stayed in our campervan booking ref: DDB5790219|Lovely private pitch with hedge rows on 3 sides. The site is very clean, very well run with helpful staff. The location is perfect close to Durdle door beach & about a 20min walk over the hill to Lulworth cove.or there is a bus at the entrance of the site to Lulworth cove that runs regularly. The facilities on site are great, Toilet & shower blocks, washing up facilities, washing machine & dryer also a fridge freezer to use if needed.|There is a shop onsite with everything you need & the bar restaurant is great, food was really good & the bar had entertainment on the Saturday night. I would definitely recommend this site & will definitely go back again.

My recent visit to Durdle Door Beach was an absolute dream! Nestled along Dorset’s stunning Jurassic Coast, this iconic pebble beach, crowned by its magnificent limestone arch, took my breath away. The smooth, colorful stones underfoot and the crystal-clear waters during low tide made for perfect swimming conditions, while the dramatic cliffs provided a breathtaking backdrop. Adventure seekers will love the kayaking and rafting opportunities, and the coastal hikes offer panoramic views of the UNESCO-listed Durdle Door arch, a natural wonder formed over 10,000 years ago. With no shops nearby, it’s pure, unspoiled beauty, best enjoyed with a picnic and an early start to beat the crowds. Whether you're diving into the sea, exploring the cliffs, or simply soaking in the views, Durdle Door is a slice of coastal magic that stays with you long after you leave. **A must-visit gem**

We booked a motorhome pitch for the weekend and were very pleased with our stay. The location couldn’t be better at only a stones throw away from Durdledoor. The park itself it’s very good with nice staff and decent facilities although the shower block could be cleaned a bit more regularly. The adventure park is also great fun! Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning 😁

I booked a two nights camping pitch to try and photograph the Milky Way over Durdle Door. This is a lovely site with excellent, well maintained & clean facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a small shop and a pub/restaurant on site. It was perfect all round, and to top it all, on the final day/night I managed to get the photo I was after. Excellent campsite in a good location. Just spent my 4th weekend there and it never disappoints. Pub with food (if you want that kind of thing), well stocked shop, children's playground, laundry room, clean (free of charge) showers and toilet blocks. Freezer facility Easy access to Durdle Door beach, although you do need a certain level of fitness because the path slopes steeply and there are some steps. Lulworth is around a mile and a half away along a cliff top walk - also quite steep, but there is another longer and more level route (not accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs). Plenty of farm and wildlife to see and hear if you keep an eye out. Do take earplugs if you are a light sleeper - it's one large rookery! Camp on the 'field' rather than in the trees for a more quiet time of it. I really cannot recommend this place enough. If you don't like tents, there are static caravans ('mobile' homes) for hire and also places for your own caravan, overlooking the sea. Everyone should go!
