"Chocolate Demonstration and Tasting at Chocolatier Durig Switzerland certainly doesn’t lack for world-class chocolate, and Durig Chocolatier continues the tradition with a focus on organic and fair-trade ingredients. At the chocolaterie in the French-speaking Swiss city of Lausanne, master chocolatier Dan Durig leads demonstrations of chocolate-making techniques and treats participants to samples of rare varieties. You’ll want to stock up on sweet souvenirs before you leave, but because no artificial additives, colorings, or flavorings are used, Durig chocolate is best enjoyed within three weeks of purchase. I visited Durig Chocolatier in Lausanne, and it was an absolute delight! There are so many different types of chocolates to choose from, including some really cute options for kids. The quality is excellent, and everything looked beautifully made. The lady who helped us was very kind and helpful, making the experience even better. If you’re a chocolate lover or looking for a sweet gift, this place is a must-visit in Lausanne!

The shop at Avenue d'Ouchy is degrading. Today I went there after two years to buy chocolate for my guests and was surprised by the unfriendly and inattentive service. The staff were busier arranging shelves than helping me, conversing with me over their shoulder in "don't bother me" manner. I'm curious to know whether the managers are aware of this behavior. If you want to retain remaining customers, consider hiring someone more used to Swiss quality and service.

This place offers the option to go to the back of the store and learn first hand how chocholate seeets are done. The sweets are incredibly good and the experience is worth the cost. If you are shocked by the cost of the sweets, please keep in mind that it is chocolate ethically sourced and of the greatest quality.

Yelp
My group and I made a pit stop in Lausanne on our way back to Geneva from Montreux and this lovely hole-in-the-wall chocolate shop caught our eye. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly host who guided us through their entire selection of chocolate as well as what chocolate Switzerland was known for. He was also kind enough to let us all sample 2 chocolates. Our group ended up buying 40+ pieces across the 4 of us, which we readily consumed over the next 2 days. Each piece was as rich and unique as was described, and certainly gave us a good start to our Switzerland chocolate experience.

Yelp
I came into Durig because I read online that you can do chocolate workshops here throughout the day. Unfortunately I didn't have time to try the workshop, but I did walk around and pick out some chocolates to bring home as gifts. The prices are high, as they are in any gourmet chocolate shop around Lausanne. The lowest price I found was around 5 CHF and it went up from there. They have amazing individual chocolate selection at the cash register, which is priced by weight and comes out to around 1-2 CHF per piece. The associate was so kind and helpful - honestly the friendliest person I met in Lausanne. She also gave me a free piece of chocolate (you get to pick) when I checked out! The best part of the experience was that when I paid and had to select USD or CHF, she said she recommended CHF - that is the better exchange rate and she was nice enough to mention it. I highly recommend coming in if you're in Lausanne!!
