"An aromatic treat for the senses When you enter the store, the combined aromas of all the scented soaps, candles and other products is a lovely surprise. You’ll also be surprised by some of the inventive soap “flavors” – salted caramel, for example, and Yard’s (a local brewery) Philadelphia Pale Ale. Besides the soaps and candles, there are enough hair, face and body/spa products to get you well on your way to aroma therapeutic bliss. I’m a fan of the delightfully scented soy candles named after Philadelphia locations. The selections change with the seasons, so there is always something new to sniff! This is a great place to shop for gifts and the themed gift sets come in categories suitable for men, women, and good doggies."

Duross &Langel is the finest bath, spa & skincare in Philly. Their products are first-rate quality. The soaps and body creams are outstanding. The custom scents are amazing 👏🏾 Customer service is supreme. Alli, Sarah, and Steve are genuinely friendly, bubbly, and kind. Duross &Langel, you have a customer for life. If I could, I would give them a 10. Thank you.

I recently purchased the Island butter and face moisture cream. Both are amazing. I have sensitive skin and neither product has irritated my skin at ALL. The island butter is definitely the stand out - i have never been so moisturized in my life. I have the oud scent - and i smell amazing. Very earthy, fall, witchy vibes. I will be reordering!

I popped into today to build a gift basket, and I left with not only the perfect gift but a few treats for myself. The moment I walked through the door, the owner greeted me and we brainstormed gift ideas. What really sets this shop apart is the owner's warmth and expertise. He was genuinely helpful and accommodating my budget. If you're hunting for a meaningful gift - or just an excuse to spoil yourself - add Dugross & Langel to your must-visit list

Updated with our recent haul! I love the eco-packaging - safeguards from drying out as well. My whole family loves Steve; always have, always will. We supported his store in the early years, the barber years, and now with the new store. Though we moved out of the city, we still get our soap and have it shipped to us and our loved ones. The shipping cost is FAIR, so don't complain. You're welcome to walk to CVS and get your products there; no one is forcing you to support a wonderful small business that simply expects respect in return. Ignore the negative reviews; humanity is tough in general, so check out the new store and I promise you won't be disappointed :) Family recommendations: paloma, sea salt scrub, revive, ocean, lemonade, cherry almond; eucalyptus bath salts are great for old aching bones!

We’re so proud to be stocked at Duross & Langel. It’s always exciting when a store with such a strong presence and reputation brings our products in. We really appreciate the support and love being part of their lineup.

Google
Extremely kind staff. Explained the products concisely and packaged my choices in a nice gift box. Store is not overwhelmed by scents, which allows you to actually distinguish between each product.

D&L is well worth a visit to smell all the soups and creams. If you like to pamper yourself or others you will find most of what you need here.

This morning, I went past the store early — before opening. The store keeper (owner?) let me in to shop, which I found incredibly kind. The store was, as it has always been, filled with elegant delights. I picked up some special gifts for my family and myself; and I couldn’t help but think what a special thing it was that this business made time for me before the opening bell. Thank you.

Yelp
The detox bath soak is amazing- like a sauna in a bath. The product is made to open your pores, release toxins and sweat out impurities, just what I needed after the epic Birds Super Bowl win!! Highly recommend, feel fantastic after using this soak!

Yelp
Amazing selection of well thought out and hand made local products. Excellent customer service. Great to treat yourself or pick up a gift!

Yelp
I am originally from Philly and live in Brooklyn and love shopping at Duross & Langel for my self-care needs and gifts for others. Their online shopping is super easy and the staff are responsive to answering questions via chat. Whenever I am in the city, I always stop by to stock up. This is hands-down my favorite Philly store!

Yelp
Holy moly! This shop smells amazing. Former Yelp Community Manager Michelle C. brought me in this fabulous shop when I visited Philadelphia, and let me tell you, it's easy to see why it's one of her favorite places! The minute you walk in, you're absolutely overwhelmed with the overwhelming vibes of delicious soaps, bath bombs, and fragrances. I believe the shop is only offering online ordering and pick-up orders, so I sadly couldn't stop and peruse the way I would love to in the non-Covid era. There was a steady of stream people coming in to pick-up their pre-orders, definitely proving they have a loyal clientele. The business owner is a very nice and funny guy very passionate about his products. I was in a rush and didn't get to do any indoor shopping, but I am so excited about the online order I will be placing. Online, you can basically find anything you can find in the store, if not more. I love their selection of gift baskets and boxes filled with all kinds of goodies. I'll keep you posted when mine comes!

Yelp
Duross & Langel is a great store for holiday gifting and very covid-safe. The store has an outdoor counter (cannot go in the actual store) where you can pick up your online or phone order. My online order was ready in less than 30 minutes! When I got there everything was bagged and ready to go (just give them your order #) and they threw in a little surprise soap sample. The customer service at the counter was great and the prices are reasonable. If you're looking to shop small and maybe get some self-care gifts, this is your place!

Yelp
Over the past few years I've switched from liquid shampoo to shampoo bars, and since those aren't the easiest to find, I've needed to order them online or get the one of the few options available at Whole Foods. One day it occurred to me that I should check out Duross and Langel to see if they had shampoo bars, and of course, they do - now I'm a customer for life. I first tried the Rosewater Lemon variety, and it smelled bright sweet divine, lathered up really well in my hair, left it soft and clean, and it lasted quite a while. I decided to try another variety yesterday. This was my first time in the store since its full-access reopening following limited access during the COVID19 precautions for businesses. Steve was super helpful in not only in providing scent samples for all the shampoos I was curious about, but also proving a lot of detail about the ingredient blends and different scent qualities. I ultimately decided to switch this time to the Patchouli shampoo bar (unofficially also called "aphrodisiac") and after one wash, I'm hooked. It's intense, but if you're into that, you should definitely try it. I'm going to have to start getting their hand and bath soap bars as well, and make this my one-stop shop for body cleanliness.

Yelp
I went to the shop to pick up a Yelp kit for my daughter's birthday. You can order online, by phone, or walk up to order for pick up between 11 am and 4 pm. I walked up, rang bell, and a staff person with a mask opened the window. It was easy to get the Yelp kit as they were already packaged. I chatted with the 2 staff women for a few minutes. I mentioned that the kit was a gift so they gave me some samples for myself! My daughter loved the kit! She is an essential worker so this mini spa kit was perfect. It has Himalayan bath salts, a refreshing soap, lotion and a face mask. The products at this shop are all wonderful. I've purchased candles here that I love because the scent is not overpowering but gives a nice subtle scent. They burn well. It was a pleasant experience to "shop" here during pandemic!

Yelp
I miss shopping here in person so much. However--though it may have been nearly a decade since I've been able to--I still use D+L products. THAT is how good they are. My dog breaks out into literal hives with every shampoo except their unscented Woof! shampoo is how good they are. My neighbor got hooked on them from a soap sample I gave her is how good they are. My man scrunches up his nose in displeasure if he uses any other soap is how good they are. And I buy them for gifts ranging from "you've had a bad month, I'm so sorry" to "Happy Holidays, I like you but don't know you that well" to "your new puppy is so cute" occasions...because that's how good they are. Need to buy a gift? Go here or (if you're not local like me) order online. I guarantee--no matter the recipient--you'll find SOMETHING they'll like here because, yes, that's how good they are.

Yelp
Duross & Langel has long been a fixture in my house, especially in terms of bath time essentials. I've loved on their bubble bath, bath bombs, bath soaks and bath salts for years. Steve, Sarah, and the rest of the crew are always coming up with amazing new products. More recently, I've gifted friends with some of the aromatherapy rollers, and I also have a couple bottles of their pure essential oils, which are great for a thirty second meditation break. The balms and salves have been wonderful, too (bug off saved me and my husband on our trip to Bali earlier this year!). Believe it or not, there are still some products I've yet to try, but I'd undoubtedly love them all. I've been a totally satisfied customer through and through. As we've been nearing the end of some of our national-brand hand soaps, I decided to hit up D&L's website for supplies. I always try to support local whenever possible, but the current pandemic has me finding new ways to swap big name brands in all areas of my home. According to their social channels, Duross & Langel is shipping once a week. I placed my order on a Monday and it arrived by Wednesday! There were even a couple fun surprises thrown in, which was so thoughtful and very fun. Please think of the little guys when you're replacing items around your home, or even if you're just looking to treat yourself with something nice while we all social distance. I can't wait to shop the shelves in person again!

Yelp
Absolutely in love with this company and it's products. My sister has been a long time customer of this store, and has always brought me the free bars she gets and this definitely got me curious because the soap smells like pure heaven & leaves me feeling squeaky clean. I placed my first order and all I can say is I'm addicted. I absolutely love the quality, gentle ingredients. I will have to plan a trip to the store, as my sister reports, she feels like a kid in a candy store! Customer for life! Won't buy any other face products!

Yelp
There are lots of reviews on here about the good prices, wide selection, and great quality of products. All of that is true and others are better at saying it than I am. But there is one thing that I would have liked to know before my first visit the other day: this place is perfect for someone just starting to pamper themselves! I am a self-professed rookie to soaps bought outside of CVS and I swear I didn't actually realize that something fizzy would happen when I dropped in a bath bomb. But the team was absolutely fantastic. So helpful, so eager to answer what I thought were silly questions. I am a supporter and customer for life based on that alone.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to shop and support when I'm in my hometown. They have a wide variety of amazing handmade products. I personally recommend the black shea and rhoussol (hope I'm spelling that right) soaps. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this shop.

Yelp
Soap that smells so good you want to eat it. Friendly and helpful staff and great gift boxes for birthdays and holidays. I've never been disappointed with anything I've bought there.

Yelp
I've been using Duross & Langel chapstick for the longest time but recently decided to pop in and try their lotions. I was super impressed with the formula. It's fast drying, and not sticky. It keeps my hands hydrated for the winter and it's been helping a lot with my eczema. I liked it so much that I got another bottle for my sister to try. I also picked up their coconut lip scrub. The lip scrub wasn't overly sugary and not too strong smelling. After using the scrub I put on the chapstick and it's really been helping my chapped lips this winter. I wish they had more flavors of the scrubs like mint. I can't wait to try more of their products. I also love that they're a handmade local business. Everyone there is very nice and helpful.

Yelp
I've passed by the store a lot and never went inside, one day decided that I would go there to get bath bombs because I was told they have great products that are vegan made. Over all happy with the product will be back.

Yelp
My friend Marcus and I stumbled into this place while walking around the Philadelphia Gayborhood. Upon entering the store, I got super excited! The store smells divine! The place was eminating with super clean, refreshing scent. Hmmm.....Ahh.......Oooh......Rejuvenating. :) We were immediately greeted by two friendly associates who informed us that they make their handmade soaps upstairs. I love it ! There's so much products to choose from and I love the fact that their products are 100% Vegan and they use biodegradable and compostable bags. I love supporting independent, local places like this. They have very unique cruelty-free products and it's the only store that exist in the world! This is definitely going to be my new favorite store in Philly.

Yelp
Loved this place. I was in Center City with some Pittsburgh friends and we just happened to walk in. The staff are super friendly and the products are great. I've never tried a hair mask before, but it was a nice treatment to helping my frizzy hair. I'll definitely come back!

Yelp
Handmade. Locally made. Cruelty free. Excellent customer service. Adorable shop. Fantastic quality products. Delicious variety of scents. Seasonally inspired goods. Great gift items. Do I really need to go on?! No, but I will :) I fell in love the first time I stepped foot in Duross & Langel. I have remained deeply in love and am excited for my next visit! I'm absolutely in love with the musky Black Pepper scent! It's available in a hand-poured soy candle, soap and cologne spray. It's deep, moody and sexy! Try it! I'm equally in love with all things buttercream! The scent is like you're being wrapped in a warm blanket! It also had a funfetti type look making a perfect gift for a celebration or in my case for my little girls who loved it as much as I do! I really love that the bath bombs come in 2 sizes. For just $3.50 for a small, come in a grab a bunch of different scents to play with! Another items I love for my girls is the rainbow unicorn soap! Yessss! The chocolate cherry soap is another winning scent! It's made with Hershey's cocoa powder and shea butter! Yum!! Again, there are a few different sizes for the soaps also, sold by weight! I love me a good bar of sliced soap! I will keep coming back for many reasons, but especially for the changing seasonal items I can give as small token gifts for holidays! They are so cute and festive!! Gets you in the mood for each and every holiday, and I love holidays! On my most recent visit I chatted with owner Steve Duross who couldn't have been more personable, helpful, down to earth, honest and sweet! I absolute adore and admire very hands on business people. You can tell how passionate he is with his craft. Great guy. You guys have a fan for life! Everyone should visit this shop! You will absolutely leave with an item you are truly excited about! If you come for a gift, be prepared to purchase something for yourself as well. It's all just so good! Impossible to resist! Oh, There's a grooming studio as well as a woman's salon upstairs! They will give first time clients a card redeemable for a $35 ladies haircut and $25 men's. Although I am very loyal to my salon, if their care put into their products is any indication of the care the staff will put into my hair, I would be foolish not to at least try it right?!

Yelp
This store is the best! When I lived in MD I would regularly work in Philly and D&L was a must see destination for me. I NEVER travel to Philly without stopping by. Now that I live in FL I don't get to visit as much. I have enjoyed watching the business evolve and really miss being able to to visit D&L as I previously did. I returned in May, after a 3 year hiatus (and having run out of their products). Seeing Sarah again, to catch up and to meet new staff was great. It was exciting to interact with those team members whom I'd not met before and learn about new [to me] products. Exploring D&L is always fun and my friends who were alongside me got as much joy out of the experience as I did. I'm over the moon since the visit afforded me the opportunity to replenished my Thai Tea Shower and Body Butter. I'm also excited to try my shower bombs. Whereas, in the past I wouldn't hesitate to gift D&L products to friends and family, I now find myself hoarding them [so as not to run out]. Who knew that a stroll down the streets of Center City would create a devoted fan. I look forward to seeing D&L prosper and grow and am thankful to have been blessed to come across the store. Fascinatingly Yours, Tarsha - Faithful Customer since 2012

Yelp
I used to work down the street from here, but it was only after I left that I learned how great this place is. Everything is made in-house, and feels so authentically Philly with all of the local collaborations. The handmade soaps have some standing cast members as well as seasonal specials, but neither ever disappoint. Right now I'm nursing a Pumpkin Ale bar I bought, as well as a Green Tea, but the overt soap display is only HALF of the glory of this place. I spontaneously bought the buttercream hand cream and the 78 blue double butter, both part of the double butter collection, and I couldn't believe how legit they were. I used the double butter as a face moisturizer during the winter, and it kept my face supple all day! The price is a bit steep at $23, but considering I'm still using it in July, I think it's well worth the cost. Can't make too many visits, but I always look forward to finding new products when I do.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about Duross and Langel. I've been coming here for years prior to the pandemic and always had great experiences. The same people have been working here for years. Even if they don't actually remember you they definitely pretend to which adds to the experience. During the pandemic however their customer service has really gone above and beyond. I placed an order a few weeks prior to my mother's birthday in June and our delivery was right on time and even included a free bar of soap. Today my roommate and I were brunching in the area so I decided to stop by thinking maybe they were open for shopping. Unfortunately it was a walk up window only situation. However the person working the window was super helpful so I got some lovely summer scented soaps and some more free samples. Is it expensive? For sure. Will you regret it? Not a bit.
google avatar

Cherie C.

Yelp
My boyfriend used to live near their old location. When I came by with a bag from D&L, he said that he'd always wanted to stop in and get me something but didn't because of my sensitive skin. I happily explained that they have natural products and plenty of scent-free options. I love their eye creams. Unlike other brands, they don't sting my sensitive skin. The face wash is gentle and feels great afterward. The bf and I have also used the deodorant, with great scent options that don't upset my skin. Compared to Rite-Aid, they do seem expensive. But when I realized that one little pot of eye cream lasts six months, it's not bad at all. And it's way less expensive than those overwhelming shelves of skin care at the back of Sephora. I pick up a few things whenever I'm in Philly, though it's nice to know I can now order online.
google avatar

Claire E.

Yelp
How have I never been here before today. I went to Duross & Langel because I was looking for a candle and body scrub and wanted to buy local. I am so happy I did. I purchased the driftwood sage soy candle which was priced at $24. It smells incredible and is strong enough to fill my studio. I also purchased the small size (maybe 2 or 3oz) of the peppermint facial scrub to try for only $6. The scrub feels amazing and left my skin tingling. I have highly sensitive skin and this left me with zero irritation. I will absolutely be purchasing both the candle and the scrub again. As I was checking out, I was given a free soap to try, the sauna salt bar soap. Another fabulous product that left my skin feeling fresh and moisturized. I can't wait to come back here, especially for future gifts!

Yelp
I love this place. Small business in Philly that I stumbled upon on vaca (I live in NYC) and I still order products from them online. The scents are so wonderful.
google avatar

Nicole R.

Yelp
This place is heaven & their products are very simple which I really liked. Wonderful selection of aromatherapy products, glycerin soaps, haircare & skincare products, soy candles, & much more. Super friendly, attentive staff & they were more than happy to answer all my questions. I thought the prices were reasonable ($9 for a 1oz bottle of aromatherapy oil, $3 for lip balm, etc.). Excellent place to grab a gift; they did have pre-assembled gift boxes/baskets available. They offered me a sample of their soap to try; lots of lather & smelled wonderful.
google avatar

Esmahan A.

Yelp
Cute shop, its refreshing to have a place like this in the S. 13th street district. The perfumes smell amazing. As for the soaps? a slither of it will run you $4.00. As you walk in, you will have the scent of soap, but not as invigorating as other soap shops. There were two employees there. One male who will answer your questions with uncertainty and look at you as if u have 3 heads (i found that amusing, as i was the only customer in the store). And another female, who would duck down by the tables to aviod u and head to the back, whenever I looked up for help. She emerged after I made my purchase. In all, I had better service elsewhere - but its still nice to have variety in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Leah T.

Yelp
This place is truly amazing. Any time family comes to visit, this is one of my go to places I want them to experience! The soaps are amazing with such great scents and lather. I have been using their deodorants more recently and am amazed at how well they work. I'm now experimenting with the idea of using their skin care. I enjoy having a local shop that provides great products. The workers are extremely passionate about what is sold in the shop and extremely helpful with providing suggestions.
google avatar

Jen P.

Yelp
Had the best time here. My sister and I came in and we absolutely fell in love with this shop. Everything is so cute! I love the wrapped soaps, but I do wish they had a sample one for you to try or smell. My sister spent $50+, which is rare for her to do in a soap shop. I tried the red clover per the owner's recommendation because I have eczema. He was very sweet and answered all out questions. We sampled everything and loved everything! The peppermint facial scrub smelled delicious. I love the microbeads. The red clover soap melted like cream on my skin. We actually plan on going back tomorrow!!
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
A quality shop - from the products to the owner/staff. They are clearly dedicated to the craft and really care about their customers. I love purchasing their curated gift boxes for friends and soap/bath products for myself. A must-stop on your next trip to Philadelphia!
google avatar

AJ L.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go in center city! I've gotten many gifts for out of town guests here, especially the neighborhood candles. I can't resist treating myself to the amazing soaps...knowing it's all clean and made in house makes it even better. The staff is always friendly and helpful!
google avatar

Leslie H.

Yelp
Great smelling store. I got sucked in because someone opened the door as I was walking by and I got a glimpse into the interior. I liked that they have a bunch of different sizes available so you don't have to break the bank on $25 for a 1lb bar of soap. Lots of wonderful smells! I bought 5 sample size bars for about $20, and the salesperson threw in a sliver of another soap as a sample. So this isn't cheap, but I do like the products. They make great gifts.
google avatar

Mindy O.

Yelp
Awesome place! The products smell amazing and are so good for your skin. I love that everything is made in house with love. Everything from natural soaps, body care skin care and so much more. Cute little shop with very kind staff.

Yelp
Duross & Langel is one of those delightful places that continually gets better. It seems like rather than become complacent the owners are the sort that are always looking for ways to improve and new things to try. My current recommendation is their candles. They are fantastic. My only problem is they have turned me into a product hoarder and I keep a stash of soap and candles I can't bear to use. I said it before and I'll say it again Duross & Langel is the absolute best.
google avatar

Yelp
I know, I know... so many occasions to remember. Birthdays, Christmas, Mother's Day, Father's Day, anniversaries and other special events. Everyone's dilemma: Splurge or scrimp? And to help you, here are some cute, and inspiring ideas to wow someone you care about. For an affordable pampering: - Marvelous and exquisite handcrafted soaps. A true treat to your senses. - She'll be pleased with the homemade bath bombs, salts and/or soaks. It'll make their occasion extra sweet, and it'll be your secret to good gifting. - You can't-go-wrong with the men grooming gifts. You're welcome! Four and Half Yelps

Yelp
What a great spot for a last minute gift. I was looking for something (or 5 somethings) for cousins/aunts for Christmas and ended up grabbing a few bath bombs and soaps. Very affordable and lavish products!

Yelp
I LOVE this store! I first encountered Steve Duross at the City Fit Girls Fit Retreat. We learned about skin care, and sampled some masques and some face creams. A few weeks later, I finally found myself actually IN Duross & Langel, swooning over the varieties of handmade soaps. The best comparison I can make is to say that D&L is a local (support local biz!) more elegant version of LUSH where the employees are actually not overbearing and in your face. So, you know, basically WAY better than LUSH. I love the soaps, the masques, the face creams. Next on my list to try is their bath bombs and bubble baths. And if they could find a way to not put beeswax in their eye cream, that would be perfection. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Victoria H.

Yelp
I thought I would really like everything I got from here but I got the green tea and avocado mask and my face is now bright red with clear lines where I applied/didn't apply the mask (the area close to my eyes looks fine). My face is flushed and warm and irritated. This rarely happens to me, especially with anything claiming to be natural at all. So disappointed and hoping the irritation resolves itself soon. Now I'm nervous to use the other products I purchased.

Yelp
Everyone here is lovely! I was paired with Sam this time and she was also great! I originally wanted to go much shorter than I was and she helped me find a middle ground I am very happy with! Also tones of great products that are made in the shop. 10% off after a haircut! One of the more affordable haircuts in the city because they have levels. Check out their website!

Yelp
This review is for the upstairs salon. The space is surprisingly spacious and well designed, it doesn't get too loud even with conversations or hair dryers blowing away. I took their "stylist matching" quiz but decided to go with a junior stylist to take advantage of their $35 in-house deal. Steve was very responsive over email and remembered our email conversation when I called to make the appointment. They also sent me a reminder email on the day-of to confirm that I could make it. I scheduled an appointment with Kensey for 7:45pm on Wednesday. Despite the late hour, Kensey was cheerful and I felt she was very thorough with the cut without being slow. She gave me a hair wash with some really nice smelling but not overpowering shampoo/conditioner and listened to what I wanted and offered up some suggestions of her own, all of which I ended up taking. She's also cut my hair in a way that avoided dropping hair strands all over my face and down my neck. I really hate having to take a shower immediately after a haircut just because I'm covered in itchy hair bits. At the end of my cut, she put some product in my hair and then used a hairdryer and roll brush to dry/straighten it. I like that she didn't use a straightener on top of a hair dryer as some salons do since the heat can damage your hair afterwards even if it looks nice in the moment. I did request a touch-up after seeing the final product and Kensey was more than happy to listen to me and make a small adjustment that made the difference in me being happy with the cut to being absolutely thrilled with it. My only regret is that I didn't realize beforehand they can only accept tips in cash. I had a few bills on me but will have to remember to stop by an ATM ahead of time.

Yelp
This store is heavenly! We stumbled in while we were wandering 13th street aimlessly and I was immediately mesmerized. The soap selection is (duh) incredible. Big hits were the black pepper and coriander bars of soap--which are cut in a variety of sizes. I swear I want to buy a whole brick just to decorate the bathroom with soap. The staff is happy to answer any questions, and always throw in a little bonus soap sample. They found out is was my birthday on another recent visit, and gifted me a full bar--thank you Duross & Langel! The bath bombs are also excellent--a perfect way to relax on any given day! Christmas is just a few days away so make sure you pick up some beautiful, quality soaps for your loved ones!

Yelp
Visited yesterday while walking through the theater district. This place is awesome. Knowledgeable staff and great products. I mistakenly must have put down the hand cream I was going to buy when looking at other items so when I arrived home, realized it wasn't in my bag. So disappointed. I'm going to look on-line for this as that was the item I wanted/needed the most with my "winter" hands. I did purchase eye cream, which feels so wonderful and creamy under my eyes. I also purchased a face wash and cream and chapstick. Everything felt very nice. Great products and service!

Yelp
Super friendly staff. I saw Tara on the date and time I wanted. She was such a lovely hipster chick. I could tell she knew what's hot & what's not... we decided on a soft blunt bob... I left feeling light as a feather... :) my husband loved it.. bonus points :) I will be back for sure :)

Yelp
As corny as it sounds, I smiled as soon as I walked into Duross & Langel. It smelled like unicorns and rainbows (I'm an expert on these things, so trust me) and was neat and tidy. I loved that I was greeted right away by the friendly owner and staff, who were very helpful as I shopped the shelves looking for lotions and potions to buy for myself and others. I could've sunk deeper into debt since I saw at least 25 things I got excited about, but decided to be thrifty (stupid economy) and shopped sensibly for a change. I purchased the Ocean shampoo and conditioner, which smells clean and is not too overpowering and the Moroccan Cedar shower gel, which has a musky, slightly spicy aroma that will make the male or female in your life want some, too. I smell so good that I've been going around sniffing my arms for days. That sounds slightly creepy, but I mean it with total sincerity. I mean it; I smell awesome (and I supported a local business that uses all natural ingredients, too).

Yelp
I've loved their soaps for years but its their Bug-Off bug repellent that prompts this review. I hate using aerosol bug repellents so I bought a bar to use on a camping trip on the Upper Delaware River last summer. The balm kept the bugs away better than anything I had ever tried. I decided to bring it with me to Kenya, a malaria-endemic country, since it worked so well on that trip. My faith in Bug-Off was sustained and I stayed bite free! It smells good, works great, and is 100% all-natural!

Yelp
Despite the widespread rumors about my filthy and uncouth nature, I actually do appreciate a nice and fragrant soap-down every once in a while. So, when a reliable source informed me that Duross & Langel was home to the finest collection of handmade luxury bath products on the entire East Coast, I knew I had to check it out. The Duross & Langel store is like the Disneyland of bath and body shops. The exterior is unassuming, but the interior is very spacious, centered around a mountain of handmade bar soaps of every flavor and color. The walls are filled with shampoos, conditioners, liquid soaps, eye creams, moisturizers, and just about every other skin-gratifying item that you could possibly think of. Not only does the store look good, but the customer service is outstanding. Easily the best in the area. The girl working the desk could tell I was overwhelmed by the selection, so she patiently and methodically helped me find every item that I was looking for (and several items that I wasn't looking for, either). When i told her that I needed to put my purchases into my checked luggage for my flight home, she securely wrapped and packaged everything at no extra charge. Needless to say, I dropped quite a bit of coin here. My purchases were *mostly* gifts, but I managed to sneak in a few items for me. Let's see here... I recall my receipt showing several bottles of shampoo (my favorite was the lime)... matching conditioner... several things of eye cream... vetiver body wash... and some bar soap too. And just like that, in one fell swoop I did all of my shopping, and Duross & Langel saved me from a long day of store-hopping. (Let's not discuss the damage that this shopping excursion did to my AmEx -- but it felt so so good and was so so worth it.) Having used their products for a few weeks now, I can vouch for their addictiveness. Really, it's all about the lime shampoo. Who wouldn't want to wake up and run off to work smelling like the best margarita ever? Next up: the Duross & Langel online store. Since flying cross-country for a bottle of shampoo isn't exactly practical, I'll have to bite the bullet and pay for shipping. For Duross & Langel products, it's totally worth it.

Yelp
Bad allergy reaction! I account all my loss to the Steve, total $3000 which include my purchase on his store, my medical expenses, the pay for tuition for one week and on week salary. $3000 is not too much, I worried if $3000 is enough because my medical insurance will not cover to much. He said it's a threat! He try to cover up the truth on public! I am a student on Boston, and I have a part time job. When my mom saw me on video, she was crying! I am so heartbreaking that I had that experience which was I got into your store! I could't sleep for two days, my whole face was swollen, pretty itchy and pain. and you said $3000 is threat?! I'm really wondering if that happen on your family, you also think $3000 is threatening? you didn't response my email but you commented yelp. you really a awesome guy! I can say you are a nice guy when I purchased on your store, let's say you treat everyone so nice, but if someone get the same problem like me, you will not be nice. I send you email let you know how I want to negotiate the problem with you, I didn't give me any feedback for one week, and then I wrote down the comment you said it's a threat to protect your store credit.

Yelp
ADDICTED. That is the one word I will use to describe how I feel about this store. So many people kept telling me that I needed to get my sweet behind into Duross & Langel. So many people began telling me this, in fact, that I started to assume that my personal hygiene habits were perhaps not what they should have been. Well, if I really do stink, Duross & Langel has solved that problem with their tangerine soap and shower gel that smells just like lemon meringue pie that I bought today during my very first visit to this amazing store. Stinky butt be gone! Now I will smell like pie.

Yelp
I didn't expect to like this place - after all, I don't like the overpoweringly smelly soaps at Lush - but I loved it. They had a wonderful range of natural smelling products for bath and body, including shampoos, scrubs, moisturizers, conditioners, soaps, washes, face masks, and deodorants. The main display table held piles of glowing and translucent soaps that were hand cut and priced by weight. They smelled enticing and included such skin-friendly ingredients as shea butter, sea salt, olive oil, black clay and aloe. One of the soap-makers was standing by the table ready to answer questions about the soap-making process, or about the ingredients, or to cut a bar to specified size. After some deliberation I chose one bar that contained goatsmilk, oatmeal, honey, calendula and slippery elm and another that contained strawberry seeds, aloe, and champagne. Both smelled heavenly and didn't burn my nose. I also picked up a bitter almond shower gel with cherry blossom extracts that smells so good that I pause when scrubbing just to breathe in the scent. Although I didn't buy any I was really intrigued by the aluminum-free deodorants, which are made of a vegetable protein base and come in such scents as moroccan cedar, sandalwood lavender, violet and spiced lime. If they'd only had one in bitter almond I would have snatched it up. I have to say I was impressed by the customer service - everyone working there was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. The line moved quickly and items were nicely wrapped in tissue. I came away oddly excited to get home from Philly and treat myself to a soapy shower.

Yelp
Love it. Just checked Duross and Langel out today because I like the idea of Lush and I heard that this place was better. Definitely not disappointed! I feel like it's Lush and The Body Shop crossed together, but is an independent business! They have wonderful soaps in so many different and delicious smelling choices, along with shampoos, a bunch of natural deodorants, facial products, balms, and a whole line for men too. The prices are very fair here for their stuff since it is all handmade. The employees were super friendly and cute. I will definitely be back for all my body cleansing needs.
