Okay for some, but not suitable if you prefer cleanliness and a calm environment Durty Nellys Inn is located very close to the city center, but my overall experience was mixed. The rooms and common areas felt quite small and narrow, and unfortunately cleanliness was not well maintained, which made the stay uncomfortable for me. Another important point is the surrounding area. The hostel is close to the Red Light District, and the overall atmosphere did not suit me. It felt noisy and uncomfortable, especially if you prefer a peaceful and relaxing environment. If someone has no issue with this kind of nightlife and surroundings, it may be acceptable for them. I stayed here for two nights, but due to discomfort, I decided to change my hostel. If you are looking for a clean, calm, and quiet place with a good environment, I would not recommend this hostel. However, for travelers who don’t mind tight spaces and a lively nightlife area, it might be fine.

Probably the best value-for-money hostel in Amsterdam. If you’re here for fun and nightlife, this is a perfect choice. It’s right in the city center, located on a street full of bars. The hostel’s common area opens directly onto the street, so you can sit outside like in a café, which creates a great social atmosphere. There’s also an Irish pub belonging to the hostel just downstairs. I’ve definitely found my place to stay for every future visit to Amsterdam.

Quite noisy hostel, every door slapped downstwairs you can hear it upstairs. The street its busy outside and can grt noise up to pretty late. Comfortable bed though, despite that the bed was smelling bad the first day and i had to change the sheets. Bar downstairs looks nice but didnt try it. Also the first night you can- monday you can hear the party downstairs. Showers and toilet are clean very well equipped

Receptionists are the best. The communication skills are the top. Traveled Europe so have some experience. Especially Mariana made my stay comfortable and very welcome. She is running reception with majestry. I will definitely consider this place to come back.

Stayed at Durty Nelly’s Inn for two nights and the location honestly can’t be beaten – right in the centre, steps from everything. Check-in was smooth and the reception staff was very friendly and welcoming.||The dorm beds are pod-style, which gives you a decent amount of privacy and makes sleeping easier than in standard bunks. They’re not soundproof, though, and I did have a couple of loud snorers in my room. The other guests kept to themselves; barely got a “hello,” which felt a bit unusual for a hostel. ||One thing to note: there’s no communal kitchen and they have a strict no food in rooms policy. It keeps the place clean, but it does mean you’ll be eating out for every meal, which adds to the budget.||Overall, a comfortable stay in a brilliant location – just be aware of the lack of kitchen and bring earplugs.

Decent bar. Not enough people on bar for the number of people (which can’t be helped). Absolutely baffling and off putting music, especially for an Irish sports bar. Went from nonstop American Mormon rock to lady gaga, to gangnam style? Just really unpleasant. Not sure who it’s for! Also the ‘ordering food system’ didn’t work at all for us. Otherwise nice place

It was my first hostel experience so I can't compare it with others much. However, I got comfortable after getting used to staying here. Everyone kept themselves so quiet in the room so I tried to be quiet as well but getting and putting some stuff from lockers makes noise. Also, genders are separated if you're looking this kind of hostel.

Great place for short stays and in a perfect location, close to everything.It is in red light district but as a women we still felt safe. We stayed in a capsule bed for 2 nights in a mixed dormitory, which had 6 capsule beds. However, all 6 beds were for women, as they try to separate women and men as much as possible to make women feel more comfortable — which was great. The rooms, bathrooms, and showers are really nice and very clean (with great lighting for doing your makeup and also a full-length mirror). The capsules are very big and you can sit straight comfortably in them and have thick walls between them, adjustable lighting, 1 power outlet, and 2 USB outlets. Each person also gets a locker in the room, big enough to fit a carry-on suitcase and more. The only downside was the poorly designed ladder for the upper capsules. It was quite hard to climb up and down, especially after a long day. There is also a luggage storage area that can fit large suitcases as well.
