What's New on Shelter Island and Long Island's North Fork This Summer

"Finally, for an out-east beach setting with a Greek island feel, reserve a table at Duryea’s Orient Point, the sister property to the popular Duryea’s Montauk that opened in the summer of 2020. Open from mid-May to mid-September, the waterfront restaurant boasts its own marina for guests who want to arrive by boat, indoor-outdoor seating, and a Mediterranean-inspired menu bursting with fresh seafood. On the weekends, their boho-chic Beach Club serves asado brochettes, lobster sliders, and a raw-bar menu that you can enjoy from umbrellaed seating by the water’s edge or tented lounge areas on the sand while a DJ plays ambient world beats."

Food was mediocre, but expensive. Service was slow, but the people were nice. You have to get up and pay before you get your food, which is annoying if you want to order more. Place feels like a bit of a rip off, the quality vs price is not there. Also, they want to charge $75 for a corkage fee, even though when you order their wines they come hot (not room temperature, hot like they’ve been in the sun). The location is very pretty, but to charge what they are charging, they need to up their game.

Google
I am baffled by this place. All insanely expensive family style portions and you get charged $50 per person if you need to cancel for any reason. But you walk up to a register to order? At this price point it makes no sense. I was asked when I went to order a second round of drinks what my table # was and chastised for not knowing. Spoiler alert-there are no signs on the tables. Drink menu is quite limited. If you don't want wine the cocktails are very meh--I had to settle for an overly sweet margarita. Such a shame because it is a really pretty setting. Service is really lacking for the price point and vibe is off. Can't imagine sitting down for a drink at the bar at the tiniest barstools I've ever seen in my life...

The food was pretty tasty and definitely nice. The restaurant itself is beautiful. However, I found a hair in my burger and my friend bit into something hard in hers. The staff are friendly but you have to go to the front and order up there and pay once you choose your food, like a fast food restaurant, even though it’s very expensive food. I’m disappointed.

Google
Went to this restaurant expecting a full seafood experience, but was really surprised (and disappointed) to find that some of the seafood dishes included pork — without any clear mention on the menu. For people who avoid pork for dietary, health, or cultural reasons, this is a serious issue. The seafood itself tasted fine, but transparency about ingredients is essential. I hope the restaurant updates their menu descriptions and trains their staff to inform guests properly.

Duryea’s Orient Point boasts a chic yacht-club vibe, making it a perfect seaside dining destination. Standout dishes include the Lobster Cobb Salad, Lemon Pepper Chicken, and Skirt Steak with Blue Cheese Sauce. The impressive wine list complements the delicious food, enhancing the upscale experience. With stunning water views and a relaxed, nautical ambiance, it’s an ideal spot for a memorable summer outing. Don’t miss out on this gem—definitely worth a visit!

Google
Came here for the location and views and basically that’s the only thing place has to offer. Leaving very disappointed. You don’t really talk with a waitress here, you get paper & pencil to mark your order, then go pay for it to reception. I ordered falafel gyro, cut it was the only vegetarian option available for $31 (no fries goes together with it) Honestly it was the worst falafel I ever had. Saying falafel is offensive to the thing that was on my plate. Very strange consistency that brakes into tiny pieces as you touch it your fork. This recipe should be urgently changed. If this place position itself as level up place $$$ the service should be on the same level, which we didn’t really get. Interesting fact, didn’t know you get charged for tab water 💧 that’s new…

During our girls trip we went there for a drink. Unfortunately beach club was closed, but we were still able to walk around. It’s soo beautiful! Such a Greek vibe! I can imagine myself there during hot summer days. We shared a bottle of wine. The price was okay. But food prices were a little bit too high, we knew from the beginning that we will just go there for a drink.

My boyfriend and I visited this place for dinner and the food was absolutely horrendous. We spent over $500 on food and drinks, specifically a seafood tower which came to us with melted ice with our oysters, shrimp and clams floating in water. The shrimp smelled rancid and the lobster tails were green and rubbery! The tuna tartar was the size of a dime and completely tasteless. We also ordered a tomato salad which consisted of three huge tomato's that were cut into huge quarters (inedible) and served with a sliver of red onion. Our only saving grace was the bottle of wine we ordered. We mentioned our displeasure to one of the waiters and he just shrugged his shoulder and walked away. This place is the biggest racket, over priced and they make you pay before you receive your food so you are stuck with shitty food once you order. Lastly the waiters were all wearing white and every single waiters clothes were stained and dirty. If I could give this place a zero I would. The only positive was the bottle of wine that we ordered and the views of the beach. As a foodie I would say far away from this place if you are looking for fresh seafood or tasty food in general. I nearly cried after our food came. I wish I would've taken more photos but I was so traumatized by the experience that I forgot to take more. HUGE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!! STAY AWAY!

Yelp
I heard about Duryea's beach area in Orient Point via a social media post and immediately booked a reservation. I am so glad I did! This venue offers stunning views and treats us like royalty during our stay. Each reservation gets you a two-hour sitting, with a minimum purchase of $60 per person required. The concept is light fare/tapas, but you will leave full if you order appropriately. What we ordered to share: lobster roll sliders, watermelon feta salad, lemon pepper chicken skewers, oysters on the half shell and shrimp cocktail. THE GROWS: Securing parking can be challenging during high-volume times, so check with them before you arrive to inquire about alternative parking spots. Obviously, weather plays a role in your experience, so make a reservation and cross your fingers that the weather gods will err in your favor. It's a pricey visit, but the experience outweighs the cost. Just keep it in mind when you book. THE GLOWS: Visiting here makes you feel like you are on vacation on a tropical island. Seating is arranged for parties of 2, 4, and 4+. We were lucky and were seated in the front row, under a palapa, a happy party of two. We ordered rose and a sparkling seltzer to start. Glasses and a bottle of water were presented as well. The watermelon feta salad also came with melon and chives--so light and refreshing. The lobster roll sliders came as a party of 3 with drawn butter to dip in on the side. The hot sauce and cocktail sauce with the oysters and shrimp tasted homemade. If you are looking for a day trip on a beautiful summer day, I highly recommend stopping here!

Yelp
Here's the deal, you're not coming here for food that has prices that make sense. I'm talking $24 scallop crudo with paper thin sliced scallop (hysterical!), $100 lobster Cobb salad (fine can share between 2-3), and drinks that you have to get in pitchers for also $95. You do have to fill out the menu like an SAT test and hand deliver it when you're ready to order, but now, the vibes. You're coming for the vibes baby. I'd imagine most people around us were millionaires from foreign countries pulling up on their fancy yachts, so safe to say we fit right in with our jeans and tj maxx tanks. Overall, probably wouldn't come back but good experience, for the Hamptons culture.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice vibe and ambiance, but would not recommend for just two people due to the large shareable sizes and pitchers of drinks vs the option of single cocktails, it would have been much more ideal for us to have gone with a group vs date night. We were sat within seconds of arriving. Upon sitting at our table, we were given a piece of paper and a pencil to check off what we wanted. We had checked off a couple of different items that we wanted to try. We had ordered the lobster salad for $97, which I personally don't think was worth $97, it should be more around $60, and on that note, we felt it was a bit overpriced. Regarding drinks, we had each gotten a glass of wine - cocktails such as margaritas had only came in pictures for around $97. We had also ordered oysters, which I thought we were very good, and the tuna tartare. Overall, it was a nice experience, but I do not think that we would return unless we were going with a group!

Yelp
I do not understand the negative comments here. Our experience at Duryea's was great. The food was delicious. The service was friendly and professional. The portions were large and easily shareable. The wine list is also great.

Yelp
Very nice early dinner on a Sunday! A few tables but able to sit without reservations. Food was excellent as always.

Yelp
Ambiance = 5 STARS Food = 4 STARS SERVICE = 3 STARS Have you gone to one of those seafood restaurants in a vacation location where you have to go to a window and place your order and then someone bring your order to the table? Hence the 3 STARS. I don't want to go to a restaurant where I'm being charged a service fee but I'm not being served. The best part about this restaurant on my last visit. was the DJ, the location, and watching boats coming in for an early dinner. Will I go again? Yes. Is it worth the $? Perhaps not the $ but the experience.

Yelp
Meh. Table for 6 to celebrate the grandparents' 44th wedding anniversary. Dropped almost $600 for a meal that was just fine. Oysters were good - a nice selection and flavorful. Kids shared chicken tender platter with a whopping 3 chicken tenders under about 2lb of fries for $19. Lobster Cobb Salad that I remember so fondly from the Montauk location had increased in price to $97. It is an ENORMOUS bowl of lettuce, with a few toppings and a so-so amount of lobster meat. We ate the top layer of lettuce with the toppings and left the bowl filled with lettuce. Grilled veggies were pretty good, corn was fine. Lobster rolls were pricey but had a good amount of meat. Service was friendly but you order yourself at a window, pay and tip, and return to your table then the food is brought out to you when ready. The location in Montauk is much more "impressive." I wouldn't return as there are plenty of other good options in the area.

Yelp
We are at the restaurant and split the lobster salad 3 ways. Salad was great with a ton of lobster. We also got the warm lobster roll and it was not very good. Stick to the salad and other seafood items. We also went and sat at the beach club after to drink some wine. Great vibes and loved that they had a DJ at both the restaurant and beach area. I don't know why this place has bad reviews. We loved it.

Yelp
This place was super pretty but Unfortunely the food didn't cut it. Not good at all... ended up spending way more money than I should have because of the minimum per person spending limit. I was still starving when I left the place.. had to get a SECOND dinner. Deff go for drinks and ambiance not for the food!!!

Dylan D.

Yelp
Ryan, the manager of the beach, is one of the most disrespectful managers I've ever met. He refused to give more than 4 of the 6 people in our parties chairs. I accepted this at the start, but when I saw him giving chairs to other people he was incredibly rude and stubborn. Here is a picture of all the available seats, instead he put my entire family on these miniature bean bags. Won't be coming back, and I'd suggest you steer clear of the beach. This place has gone downhill.

Yelp
Way overpriced subpar and mediocre food. Served in a snotty atmosphere with an attitude. Parking lot was pretty much empty when I went. The only customers there were the bling set from the Hamptons who came in their expensive little mini yachts. On top of that, they charge you $8 dollars for tap water! The cheapest glass of wine is $18! This is not the Hamptons and is NOT what the Nortfork needs. This restaurant is completely out of place and out of tune to what this community represents. It completely ruins what makes the Northfork different (and more genuine) from the Hamptons. Bear in mind, this restaurant is owned by a Wall Street Southamptonite. If you like throwing out your hard earned money and enriching the 1 percent even more, then go at it.

Yelp
CHICKEN GATE First off nobody should ever eat here. Worst service I've ever seen in my entire life. The food was bad and the service was even worse. We ordered a gyro (you pay up front) and they brought everything out so late that most people in our party had finished eating the sub par food. They waited until after all of that mediocracy to say that there were no more gyros and asked for a replacement entree. We had an almost $500 bill so we were expecting the chicken to be free but they charged it. We talked to the manager and she preceded to snatch the chicken from the table after they put it down when we tried to protest the charge. The manager got snippy with us and needless to say we will never step foot in this establishment again. Horrible service and they should be ashamed

Izzy P.

Yelp
CHICKEN SNATCHED. I kid you not I waited 30+ minutes to receive my meal. All of my friends had already finished eating- and at the last second they told me they were all out of falafel gyros. I figured when they asked me for my meal replacement that it would be complimentary. I was horribly wrong. They charged me for the full replacement meal, and when I told the manager that I figured this would be complimentary due to the horrendous amount of waiting and lack of communication- that I may get the chicken for free. I proceeded to tell her I didn't want the $85 dollar chicken if I was going to be charged. THE MANAGER SENT A WAITER OVER AND THEY SNATCHED MY CHICKEN AWAY. I WAS LEFT WITH NO DINNER. THEY THREW OUT A ENTIRE ROAST CHICKEN.

Yelp
Duryea's in Orient Point is a very interesting place to visit. Riding the coattails of their extremely popular Montauk establishment, this restaurant opened mid-pandemic when people were aching to be out and about. Knowing that my previous experiences at Duryea's (MTK) were fun, I was excited to try this new location. Sadly, I felt that it was a massive letdown.... If you're planning on coming to Duryea's .. you already know you're paying a massive premium just to be amongst the "cool" crew with DJ beats banging in your ears.. whether you like it or not! Some thoughts: - 12 raw oysters :: must say, they were extremely fresh and nicely shucked.. - Warm Lobster Rolls :: warm is apparently a loose term... the roll I received had a layer of "tough" lobster meat on top with the lower half of the sandwich having a meager amount of "warmed" up lobster meat. Furthermore, it lacked that buttery mix of meat and dressing that makes these dishes most desirable. An absolute letdown, especially with the price... Service-wise, I wouldn't really call what we experienced service. Similar with their original location, you pretty much place the order yourself and the services are really just there to pour expensive soda water at your table or refresh your cocktails. They also charge per person for still or sparkling which I don't mind (as long as they're actually giving a portion of that to charity), but nonetheless something to keep in mind if you choose to dine here. Oh yea, they're also about to open up a "Beach Club" just in time for Summer 2023 to kick into full gear. I am sure it'll become a "hot spot" in no time

Adriana G.

Yelp
I wish I could leave zero stars, because this resturant deserves none. We came in as a group of 8, excited to try the food after receiving multiple recommendations of friends and family to come here. We ordered and the food did not all come together. Plates of foods came in every other 10 minutes. Finally everyone's food came in and my friend was still waiting for her food. At this point, everyone else at the table had already FINISHED their plate. She asked where her Falafel Gyro plate was only for them to tell her they did not have it anymore. From the very start, when we ordered, they failed to let us know about this leading my friend to order another dish. Her plate of chicken came and you would think because of the inconvenience it would be complementary, but was not. No apologies, nothing. My friend goes up to the manager to complain and receive an explanation. The manager was so rude, uncommunicative and decided to snatch the plate off the table. I have never seen this level of unprofessionalism and wasteful behavior. Food that was already prepared and cooked to be thrown in the trash. On top of that, everyone around us was getting great service but my table. We spent good money here and deserved better. Do better and DO NOT go here.

Caroline B.

Yelp
There is no service and the price is ridiculously expensive. There are so many great restaurants on the north fork - this is not one of them

Nick W.

Yelp
Went to their Beach Club- my first time here and was hesitant to even come here because of the low reviews but they definitely surpassed my expectations. Definitely great and responsive service! And the food and drink are great. Gotta get the calamari and octopus skewers. Relaxing out here at the edge of Long Island having their cucumber cooler on their nice sand and listening to their DJ music- Cheers!

Yelp
Love this location! Been to the one in Montauk but i was so happy to hear that the Orient Point location took reservations. Great Mediterranean vibes, amazing seafood, wonderful service. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Naveen K.

Yelp
The ambiance, service and food was amazing. At north east tip of Long Island this hidden gem was a great find. It has the Greece vibe and great music. It is pricey but worth it. Service was also great. We had to go to the register to place the order and pay upfront but they will bring the food and drinks to the table. Once you are done they have another beach lounge area with drinks and more food with great views. Highly recommended.

Joe S.

Yelp
I want to give this place a better review but just can't. It is overpriced. Food just not good enough for these prices. Tomatoes were tasty. Mussels not so much. They were small. Not sure if they weren't fresh or something. Lobster roll decent but not worth the price. Seafood tower was good - shrimp were good. Lobster salad good. Ordering system is just plain weird and tipping at the counter before you get service is obnoxious. Hard pass next time

Scott R.

Yelp
HORRIBLE. Highway robbery. Worst seafood restaurant I've ever been too. Made a yelp account solely to leave this review. EXTREMELY overpriced for TINY TINY TINY portions. Their snow crab dish was pathetic - 5 dinky claws the size of a nickel for $45. The restaurant itself is well decorated, but the prices and food quality/portions are atrocious. DO NOT GO HERE. If you're bored and hungry waiting for the ferry, you're better off eating the cheap ferry food, which is sad to say.

Ashley L.

Yelp
I was placed in an extremely embarrassing and disappointing position by this establishment. It was my birthday and my boyfriend and I decided to travel to Long Island from Boston to celebrate. We booked a reservation 30 days prior and we were so excited to try the lobster Cobb salad while enjoying some drinks on the waterfront. We showed up on time to our reservation and once we approached the hostess she told us she could not seat us on the "beach area" because of my a service animal. I have a 15 lb hypoallergenic licensed service animal due to my seizure disorder. I then explained to the hostess the ADA rules and regulations and provided my service dog ID card. She did not take a peak at the card and continued to embarrass me in front of the other customers waiting to be seated. She told us to head to the restaurant hostess as they could seat us there instead. Once we got to that hostess she then told us we could not be seated inside the restaurant or deck area due to having an animal and they could seat us in the waiting area near the parking lot where other customers were waiting for their tables to be ready. It was an extremely embarrassing and awkward situation. They made me feel ashamed for having a disability that I have no control over and I just wanted to go enjoy the restaurant how everyone else could, not be seated on a bench in the parking lot. When I asked to speak to the manager they told me to sit over by the parking lot and after 25 minutes of waiting I just felt like my birthday was unfortunately ruined. Having a service dog draws attention and but sitting there for almost 30 minutes I felt like everyone was staring/whispering about the outcast shoved away to the outskirts of the restaurant. We then went on to go to Claudio's down the road and had a delicious meal and drink on the water, with our service dog and no questions asked. If you have a disability don't bother coming here. They will make you feel ashamed and unwanted.

Yelp
TLDR Pretty but bad service. You will be ignored It should be busier for a nice place on the water w not much else around. It's next door to a state park in summer and instead it's empty w a few families who came in for lunch after they docked their boats It's a beautifully done restaurant and there is a beach club on water's edge only open on weekends. It's very greek island vibes w lots of gorgeous details but it's trying so hard to be like a Hamptons hang out and the bad service to match 2 snobby hosts and the place is empty Sit at the bar for drinks even tho lots and lots of empty tables Lots of staff and they are just standing around scrolling their phones or chatting w each other acting like they are not at work Bartender stood over us and watched us pay bill - so awkward The host is fake friendly and when i asked to go to bathroom after we paid and took a walk to the beach bar he directed me to the shack outside instead of letting me go back into the restaurant. The bathrooms outside I guess for the Beach club and are clean and fine but it was rude I'm so glad I didn't eat here. And I tried. We sat at the bar. Ordered drinks and fries. Our waiter served me a flat Diet Coke and a beer - neither was filled to the top and threw a back pack on his shoulders and left us w no service and didn't say a word. We were at the bar surrounded by staff and could not get anyone to look at us to help us for 30 min. No joke I replaced the flat Diet Coke w coke - little better but still kinda flat FYI they don't have a full bar. Only wine and beer The fries never came. He just didn't put the order in ‍ $14 fries for 1 and $18 fries for a family - saw someone get a big basket of them The lobster cob looked nice served in a giant wood bowl. I guess it's a popular dish cuz a lot of people ordered it. Honestly it could be the worlds most delicious salad and I wouldn't come back cuz the service was just so so bad

Julie C.

Yelp
Chicken robbery in broad daylight. My experience tonight was disgraceful. First of all, we were charged for tap water which we were not notified about. Then they proceeded to make us fill out a paper sheet with our food requests and order at the front as if it was a fast food chain. It got worse.... they never served my friend's meal while everyone else slowly got theirs - she waited 30 mins for it until finally she spoke to a waiter before they finally told her they had no more of that option. Instead of giving her a complimentary meal due to the awful service, they charged her and then when we said we didn't think it was appropriate to charge extra for that meal they SNATCHED it after she had a few bites. A waiter came over and in front of the whole restaurant, grabbed it and threw an 80 dollar chicken away. I don't need to say much more. The manager watched it all happen and blamed all her staff which is extremely unprofessional.

Emma F.

Yelp
Horrible service. Ordered the gyro and it never came. Asked the waiter about it and then all of a sudden they had no gyro. 6/8 of people at the dinner finished their food. We replaced the gyro but after asking about the change in receipt, the newly (rushed), meal was taken away from the table. It was absolutely disrespectful. I'VE NEVER SEEN A FULL DISH BEING TAKEN AWAY FROM A CUSTOMER even after a few bites were consumed. Went home regretful of the money spent and hungry. Never coming back here again. Very rude.

Ava C.

Yelp
horrible experience.... they snatched my clients chicken off of the table after they "forgot" to tell us they didn't have the original meal they ordered... if only they knew who my clients were... I feel bad for the poor waiters who have to deal with this awful management. My team and I will never be going here again.

Raznorodni R.

Yelp
I wish I could write a better review. Our family visit to Duryea was highly anticipated based on the buzz the restaurant receives. Please, do yourselves a favor, save your time and money, and go somewhere else. One of the top worst experiences ever. Starting at arrival, we are greeted by a pretentious host decked in Cartier bracelets (bizarre for a shack of a "restaurant" situated on a dock. No, don't be fooled by the posts talking about the view, there is no view to speak of). We sat down and as we were unaware of how orders are taken by the waiters, we go through a lengthy introduction - in short, you are given a piece of paper to mark the dishes and drinks you'd like to order and sent to stay in line to place your order. Nothing short of a run-down cafeteria. I guess the owners think it's cute. Everything we ordered was overpriced and of dubious quality. Cocktails run at $20 but all you are getting for that price is a small glass filled with ice to the top and some drops of a mixed drink. Dishes are outrageously priced but that would've been fine if the food was good. The Lobster Pasta, valued at $129, could not have been worse. This was the first time I ate pasta that was so tasteless, sautéed with some tomatoes and a lobster plopped on top. That was it. No, do not expect any freshly cracked black pepper, crushed red pepper, Parmigiano or anything else. We also ordered the Meze/Spread appetizer. While the portion was unnecessarily large and expensive, it wasn't that bad. We finished the pita bread that came with it and asked the waiter for some extra bread. You'd think that was an easy request? No, no. We had to fill out the card again and stay in line again to get some extra bread. Oh, and then, when we wanted to order more drinks, we had to go through the same drill. Absolutely comical. The Lobster Rolls were priced at $45 and were the smallest and tastless lobster rolls I have tried. Only the Gazpacho saved the day. Based on our family experience, we will never set foot at Duryea ever again. And will make sure we tell friends and family to avoid it at all costs. A friend told us that the Montauk location is equally underwhelming. There are so many great places to eat in the east part of Long Island. Duryea is not one of them.

Yelp
Wonderful spot for delicious food, perfectly prepared (almost) in a lovely atmosphere. Is it expensive? it is, but the ample portions and excellent service explain what you are paying for. We had a tasty small plate of squid and clams in an addictive sauce, a trio of hummus's with pita - ask for extra pita, you are going to need it. Finally we had a delicious fried red snapper encircling a tasty salad. The snapper came with a slightly unsuccessful dressing, but it was still delicious

Yelp
We went for July 4th and was pleasantly surprised by the stunning water views of the islands and local oysters at the Beach Club. We were seated along the water and felt like we were in Miami. The vibe was very mellow, but with a great mix of house and Latin dance music to give a nice cool ambiance. Finally, a place on the North Fork that can rival the Hamptons for being chic, fun, good food, stunning views and great people watching! I wouldn't be surprised if people start venturing to Orient because of this place, since Greenport is getting too crowded. If you're looking for a great view and vibe, go to the Beach Club, but be aware, this is not your typical Orient place. It is pricey and I think locals may think it's too expensive, but it seems the management is trying to primarily attract customers looking for something off the beaten trail and doesn't mind the high prices that you may normally find in the Hamptons or a place like Gurney's in Montauk. Just one tip to the management, the only reason we didn't give it 5 stars in the rating, was due to the website, which is poor customer communication. The website is not great and people cannot contact the restaurant, except for email. We wanted to make a last minute change to the reservation, but the phone number listed, goes straight to voicemail. Otherwise, everyone who worked at the Beach Club was great, especially our server Sarah.

Linda S.

Yelp
This restaurant is so amazing in every way. Food service and atmosphere are all wonderful. Everything that is served does not only taste delicious it looks so beautiful as well. The service is efficient & friendly and the whole staff is just fantastic. Everytime out East we make sure to dine here for lunch or dinner. It's perfect when my husband and I want to be alone or if we come with other couples friends or family it's always a perfect time. I have so many favorite things on the menu I can't wait to return to try it all.Spevial thanks to Sebastian & Julie for always making it a perfect experience!

Everything about this place was great. View was gorgeous, food was good, servers were friendly and helpful. I just can't help but feel like we're missing an opportunity here. If you've spent time in Europe and gone to their beach clubs it's just.... So awesome. This place is totally cultivating the vibe of scorpios in Mykonos but just hasn't gone full send. Scrap the restaurant aesthetic, Charge me $200 entry, and let's go full beach beds + outdoor shower or some other way to cool off. I'll spend the whole day here and pretend I'm in the south of France. Overall, they got like 60% of the way to my euro dream club (props on the vibey DJ) and I had a great lunch, but I'm desperate for a Long Island Nikki beach. You guys can be it! I'll give you all my money! PS if you're reading this, think it's a good idea, and have a food and beverage background message me. Let's start the Long Island beach club we all need.

Yelp
We arrived at 9:02 on a Friday night in July and were told the restaurant closed at 9:00. There were many patrons still dinning, so I asked if they would allow us to quickly eat. We promised we understood the time situation and would be quick - still NO. We left and went to Porto Bello which was FANTASTIC! I recommend you skip Duryea's and go to Porto Bello.

Yelp
Delicious food with beautiful water views of the bay. This place is NOT cheap. But, we live once. Right? Luncher's check off what they want off a menu sheet. You leave your seat and take your paper and your choices, and pay at a separate window. Your waiter is reduced to a food server. If you want another round you'll need to start over. I find the process ridiculous, time consuming and a pain in the ass.

Yelp
I don't understand the negative reviews... I love ordering on the menu and walking up my order, some restaurants in Manhattan have also started doing this. If you are from the city (second home owner) or coming from the Hamptons, you know the deal, this place is amazing, upscale, beautifully decorated, beautiful people. The food, the ambience are fantastic. I'm thrilled they opened on the North Fork. My husband and I ordered the lobster cob salad for two. It was delicious, so large we couldn't finish it. We ordered a pitcher of margherita. There was such a nice breeze , the DJ was great (lounge music, not crazy club), the decor is beautiful and relaxing. The wait staff are nice and professional. I love the pitcher and the bottle of sparking water at the table , very European to do this, I absolutely hate when waitstaff interrupt my convo to pour water or wine, (leave me alone I can do it myself, thank you Duryeas). You are not rushed out or pestered by wait staff, perfectly relaxing and beautiful view of the bay and boats pulling into the marina.

Yelp
The food was not the best, the fish didn't have any flavor whatsoever for $125 just the fish really overpriced. The Baby Calamari & Clams chorizo, garlic was all right. This place is only good to have a beer and listen to the DJ, Service was friendly but you order yourself at the cashier place pay and return to your table then the food is brought out to you when ready. this might have been the most disappointing meal at that price I have ever had.

Yelp
Really fun and relaxing environment. They have an outdoor grill where the food is prepared and the food is very fresh & made to order. Fun DJ and helpful staff! Would recommend for a fun date!

Yelp
Gorgeous atmosphere - love the lobster salad. A very special place if you are looking for something different. Come by boat if possible .

Yelp
Food was delicious. Views were absolutely spectacular. Loved everything about this place. The ambience felt like we were on a vacation.

Yelp
A restaurant run by college kids who could care less. Overpriced and literally no service. They expect you to fill an order card and pick up your food and drink yourself . You might as well go to a drive thru fast food. TERRIBLE STAFF WITH A BAD ATTITUDE

Yelp
Gorgeous ambiance and incredible food. Price point is high to be expected but worth it for the views and quality of food. Lobster salad is a must!!

Yelp
Beautiful place great ambiance but beware of the loud music while you try to eat! Food is wayyyyy overpriced. They charge you $2per person for drinking water. They have a full wine menu with not one single local wine to offer. Also you have to fill out your own menu and drop it off to the cashier and pay (and tip) before you even get the food. Food is subpar and overpriced. will never return

Yelp
Food was great atmosphere was great the only thing that kept it from the 5th star was the service. Having to check off what you wanted from a checklist and prepaying seem extremely impersonal. In the middle of meal we decided we needed a bread basket so we had to go tot he counter to order it and pay for the basket. We did it a second time for drinks also. So in total we made 3 separate transactions at this restaurant for food and drink. And all 3 we couldn't get it taken care of by a wait staff. We had to go inside and pay.

Yelp
Walking up to Dureya's you are instantly transported on vacation. Even the harshest of critics could all agree that this restaurant is stunning. Seated at a corner table, we felt relaxed and comfortbale yet the energy of the restaurant makes you feel special. Throughout our dinner the staff was friendly, accommodating, and checked on our table the right amount of times. We were never with an empty glass. We went to celebrate a birthday with a group of six so we were lucky to try many of the dishes. We started with a seafood tower and everything was perfect and delicious down to the dips for the jumbo shrimp and crab. Actually, speaking of dips.. any and all of their dips, dressings, and sauces on each of their dishes could be bottled and sold - they are truly that good. We tried the crab falafel croquettes, rock salt baked shrimp (my fav), and greek melon salad to start. Each dish that came to our table was plated for a photography shoot but so appetizing and flavorful that you had to dig in quickly and go back for seconds (and thirds). For mains we split the grilled lobster pasta and the lemon pepper chicken which had some of the best grilled vegetables I've ever had and that I continue to rave about (That grilled lettuce and crushed potatoes.....yum). If you are looking at this review, do yourself a favor and go and celebrate with your friends and family with a meal that will make you feel special on any night of the week.

Yelp
This review is for the restaurant not the beach club. The locale is just beautiful and most of the food was very good (except for the tuna tartare). Now for the service . . . As everyone has mentioned you place your order on paper; they brought our octopus but forgot everything else. It took asking a few people to actually get it to arrive -- well over an hour. To their credit they did comp a couple of things after asking.

Yelp
A much anticipated visit due to its high buzz. Took my gfs there two weeks ago since we were staying in Mattituck for the weekend ... did not feel welcomed as soon as we saw the hostess.. we given paper menus to check off menu items we wanted and bring them to the kitchen .. that's is we're you order & pay the astronomical prices ... most of the menu items are shareable .. the salads are brought out without mixing .. and very little lobster...the octopus is not good.. too much brown sauce ... the fountain sodas were not fizzing .., low carbonation... total bill was about $340 for 3 people, not including alcohol... the atmosphere was bleak.. too many women and men with their faces like plastic. The place is gorgeous, the decor is beautiful, their private beach is awesome, but will never return.. I like to pay top dollar for good food, this is not even close ... it's all a hype in my opinion...

Yelp
What an absolute trap for people who want to feel like they are big spenders. Hamburgers were $24 and we were told they were HUGE (not.). They charge you for bread. They charge you for water. The "family style" lobster roll was actually just a single one with some old sweet potato chips. The mussels were ok but no better than we would get at Croxley's for half the price. And wow! The service (lack thereof). You pay 240 dollars for two burgers, a small lobster roll, a bowl of mussels, a bottle of tap water and a bread basket and you have to submit your order with a pad and pencil, tip and all. Admittedly, we splurged and paid for another 5 piece bread basket. Because, well. We were hungry. Oh. And they did clear our table of dishes after we flagged down someone. And they didn't charge extra. What an absolute hoax. Avoid this place. They get one star because this app won't let you submit with no stars.

Yelp
This place is the epitome of misaligned expectations. Customer will think: I know I'll pay too much but how bad could it be- and hey what a view! Then they see the menu and realize it's time to be bent over and ramrodded. Well, the service will be good right? Hahaha no, you have to fill out what you want with a cheap pencil and deliver the list to a nicely-tiled prison meal dispensary window. Ok but the portions and quality are top notch? Yeah no- get lost- the food will be mostly subpar. Thirsty? Buzz off diner or pay $6 for unlimited water! What a travesty of an establishment. Great hats though- comfy and cool looking, so that garners one of the two stars featured here.

Yelp
I wish I had read the reviews before coming here and wasting my money. For this place to be considered a high end restaurant, it surely does not feel like it. You have to order off a paper menu, tally up what you want with a little pencil, then proceed to the front window to place the order and pay. What kind of service is that?! I felt like I had a kid's menu in my hand. To make things even better, you have to tip prior to receiving any service. This is truly inconvenient as you have to keep getting up to order whenever you want to order something else, another drink, etc. I ordered the lobster roll and it was so distasteful. It was so dry and the hot dog bun was freaking cold. The pitchers that they offer are pre-mixed and for a margarita they have Milagros as the tequila. A high end restaurant charging $85/pitcher but it's a shitty tequila? No, thank you. Forgot to mention - they don't have an open bar for you to order a margarita with your tequila of choice. Truly disappointing. The only thing this restaurant has going for itself, is the view and the decor. In my opinion, you could go to another restaurant and get better views and food.
