My wife and I stayed here for one day and was very pleased with the hotel. The facilities were very nice and clean. Staff nice. Room comfortable. Suggestion to the hotel: Have some simple “city maps” for visitors to get a better perspective of the city. Was told to use the internet but as a visitor from a foreign country, did not have cell service outside the hotel (only the WiFi in the hotel).

Stayed here twice in Aug 2024 with friends. This was at the start and end of our Tajikistan Pamir Highway trip. ||Location is very central and near most landmarks, which we walked to in 15-20 min. There are also many great restaurants in the area, for visiting tourists and business people. It is also very close to the airport, maybe 10-15 min drive.||The building looks very new from the outside, but the inside is more like a traditional hotel. The rooms specifically remind me of the old Taj Group hotels in the 1990/early 2000s, especially the toiletries seem to smell the same as well. However the room is very spacious and comfortable, and the bed offers comfortable sleep. While the efficient aircon offers respite from the heat outside. Windows are well sealed and dont let any road noise in, despite being located on a busy avenue. ||The facilities are decent at the hotel including the restaurant and the bar, both of which have good staff, even if the culinary offerings are quite standard. WiFi works decently. |The pool area could be larger, and seemed to be fully occupied and quite crowded on the 2 occasions I visited. The hotel would do well to move it to the back yard from the current location on the roof. ||Overall, I would recommend staying here. There is some sense of nostalgia and old school hospitality vibe, but it’s all good. Don’t expect a major luxe experience, even though it may feel like that after your travels on the Pamir Highway.

I booked two nights at Dushanbe Serena Hotel from 31 Oct until 2 Nov 2024, because my husband had an event at its ballroom. The hotel is in a prime location and city's attractions are within walking distance. On the first night when I was about to take a shower I opened the shower gel bottle and found a bodily hair attached to the lip of the bottle! And it was obvious the shower gel was used before as the lip of the bottle was filled with overflowed shower gel. I was mortified!! For a 120USD+ per night hotel, I expected a clean room. I complained to the receptionist and asked to see the MOD. I told the MOD at that time, Mr. Rasul that this is not acceptable. So disgusting to see stranger's bodily hair in the shower gel bottle that I was about to use. It made me question the cleanliness and integrity of the entire room (did they change the bed sheet? Did they change the towels? Did they clean the bathtub?) Eventually, for my peace of mind, we decided to change the room on the first night. To our shock, we were given a smaller room, significantly smaller than the previous one. But I was too tired and too sleepy to complain - bear in mind it was already midnight. Also, The fitness center was outdated and needs new equipment. Long story short, I will not stay in this hotel ever again or this hotel chain anywhere in the world, and I would not recommend this hotel. For this price point, you can get a better hotel in Dushanbe.

We stayed twice at the hotel during our visit to Tajikistan. We choose to let the second stay determine our memories. We still think that there are some minor adjustments to be done (especially related to the restaurant and cleaning of windows) but we have no issues with recommending this hotel.

What can I say is that Dushanbe Serena hotel absolutely nailed being a luxury hotel! The staff are very hospitable and professional. They tried their best all the time to accommodate my needs and the service is just absolutely marvelous.||As a Hyatt Loyalist, I am very picky of hotels I chose and I decided to give Serena a shot and it did not disappoint. My room is absolutely lovely and how I expected a cultured luxury hotel should be, comfortable, modern, fully equipped amenities and a perfect touch of traditional Tajik culture without looking like a tacky museum.||This hotel exceeded my expectations and I cannot recommend it enough! 5 star perfect stay for me!

After staying in local villages for a few days coming to this Serena Hotel was really enjoyable. It was freezing and so to be able to stay inside with the hotel restaurant with beautiful views over the snow-covered streets both from the restaurant and our room was delightful. A really first-class hotel which is also quite well located to see the sights of Dushanbe.

I am still leaving in this hotel. the only thing good is location. rest is not match the 5 stars. room old , Carpets are very old, curtains are very old. No benefit of long staying for 20 days . Food is same every day.
