A beautiful hotel. I stayed an extra night, as two nights wasn’t enough. Good location. Trains stations are easily accessible with a 15min taxi ride. Scooters are faster with the traffic. Lots of food options. The hotel itself is very good, but walking out the door, there are restaurants all around, and some great street food food. The chicken satay is very good!! The pool is delightful. I must have sat by it for 6-8 hours just relaxing, reading. The lighting around it is simply delightful. There is a massage/spa, but only for females, as the masseuse is female. Staff are really friendly, and even helped me repair my fan when it broke. Wonderful people. The bathroom is private, covered, but technically outside. I liked it. It was fun, and felt rustic. But it creates issues in that your bathroom door is effectively an outside door. The only issue was that I had a number of small ants in my room. I am sure this will have been resolved… I survived. A lovely hotel, I extended my stay, and was sad to leave.

Whenever I visit Yogyakarta, I always choose to stay at Jogja Village Inn—a boutique hotel that has beautifully preserved its character and charm over the years. There’s something timeless about this place, from the cozy, well-designed rooms to the warm hospitality of the staff, many of whom have been there for decades. It feels like coming home. The food remains delightful, though the menu now seems a bit more limited—something I can understand as times change. Admittedly, the hotel is showing signs of age. The mosquito nets have visible stains and could use replacing, the hairdryer emits a strange smell, and the public restroom could benefit from a little touch-up. Yet, these small flaws don’t overshadow the unique appeal of Jogja Village Inn. Instead, they remind me of its history, of the many travelers it has welcomed over the years. This place holds a special place in my heart. In 2011, we brought our wedding guests from around the world to stay here, and it became part of the memories we cherish. I hope Jogja Village Inn continues to stand the test of time, preserving its character while embracing the updates it needs to remain a haven for travelers seeking an authentic Yogyakarta experience.

I stayed at Dusun Jogja Village Inn as a solo traveler for 3 nights in October 2024. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, particularly for those who enjoy some quiet in the evenings away from the busier areas closer to Jalan Malioboro. 1) Rooms: The rooms are large, clean, and have a lot of character. I had an outdoor bathroom which was very nice (I'm not sure if all rooms have this facility). I never had any issues with mosquitos / other insects. The room also had a very nice patio area with a lounge and a standard table / chair combo. Other facilities included a fridge, kettle, and storage space. 2) Location: I loved the location as it felt quiet but still relatively close to the main attractions (Kraton / Taman Sari etc). You can walk to Jalan Prawirotaman, and there are some very nice art galleries within a 30-min walk / 10-min car / motor (Pendahap Art Space, Langgeng Gallery, Srisasanti Syndicate. 3) Facilities: I didn't make use of the hotel's facilities during my stay as I was out for much of the day. However, the pool looked very nice and clean.

A lovely local boutique hotel with nice atmosphere. I had an upstairs balcony room and it was lovely sitting there to read a book, overlooking the pool. Room decorations are cute, with a large, very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The pool is very large and takes up much of the middle of the hotel that is built around it. The restaurant's menu wasn't huge but the meals I had there were nice and reasonably priced. Staff, especially in the restaurant, were lovely. Very chatty and made lots of recommendations of things to see and do. It's a good location, very quiet and only a few minutes' ride in a Grab to the centre.

This little gem was a perfect place to stay. Every corner of the hotel is packed with charm--beautiful landscaping, statuary, fish ponds, and a lovely pool. I ate at so many restaurants on this vacation but nothing can top the chicken satay dish that I had at the restaurant in this hotel. The staff was so accommodating and friendly in every way and they provide clean water for refilling your bottle on every floor. The rooms were cute, the mosquito bed nets were a nice touch. Highly recommend!

Reasonable stay. Probably not worth the price but similar places in Yogyakarta cost the same. Small room and rather dim without natural light. Breakfast was good. Staff member Dory is a very friendly and helpful guy...........loves to talk!

I really like the place and room though I only spent one night there. The hotel is fantastic and it's very antique decoration. It's one of the best hotels that I have ever been to. Sure I will spend days if go to Jogja next time. By the way, it's quiet at night and there's a supermarket nearby, so the location is good.

The most peaceful, serene, and welcoming location I have experienced in the many, many months I have been traveling. You wouldn't know it from the street, but this is an enclave unlike any other. Warm and gracious rooms with every thoughtful amenity. Huge, firm beds with lush, soft bedding, and mosquito netting that is not necessary yet extends the tropical tone. A lovely private balcony with an inviting day bed in the plumeria boughs is ideal for a late afternoon rest. Water features abound, including koi stocked streams in front of many of the rooms, an octagonal meditation room for your use, a beautiful, large, and inviting swimming pool and on site restaurant Via Via all contribute to this urban oasis. Don't let the low price point discourage you, this is one time where what you get absolutely exceeds what you pay for. I promise every word I have written is true and wholeheartedly encourage you to stay at Dusun Jogja Village Inn and visit with Laila the reception SuperStar and all around warm and gracious hostess.
