Whenever I visit Yogyakarta, I always choose to stay at Jogja Village Inn—a boutique hotel that has beautifully preserved its character and charm over the years. There’s something timeless about this place, from the cozy, well-designed rooms to the warm hospitality of the staff, many of whom have been there for decades. It feels like coming home.
The food remains delightful, though the menu now seems a bit more limited—something I can understand as times change. Admittedly, the hotel is showing signs of age. The mosquito nets have visible stains and could use replacing, the hairdryer emits a strange smell, and the public restroom could benefit from a little touch-up. Yet, these small flaws don’t overshadow the unique appeal of Jogja Village Inn. Instead, they remind me of its history, of the many travelers it has welcomed over the years.
This place holds a special place in my heart. In 2011, we brought our wedding guests from around the world to stay here, and it became part of the memories we cherish. I hope Jogja Village Inn continues to stand the test of time, preserving its character while embracing the updates it needs to remain a haven for travelers seeking an authentic Yogyakarta experience.
