"Las Palmas – the former workshop building of the shipping company Holland America Line – now houses the Dutch Foto Museum. The museum focusses on all forms of photography and regularly displays its own productions. The museum is a source of inspiration, research, inspiring exhibitions and publications.
Las Palmas also houses two other cultural organisations: LPII, a space for urban culture and SKVR Photography & Media, a public place for locals to explore their ambition in the areas of photography, video and digital media." - Rodesk

Beautiful museum. Easy to access. Visited a brilliantly curated exhibition about stories of immigrant women.

This fascinating, and the most important photography museum in the Netherlands, is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the city. All exhibitions are not permanent except The Gallery of Honour of Dutch Photography: a permanent exhibit of 99 iconic images that together tell the story of 180 years of photographic history. The museum offers 5 to 7 exhibitions per year. Highly recommended.

★★★★★ A Must-Visit for Photography Enthusiasts!
The Dutch Photography Museum is an absolute gem! The exhibitions are thoughtfully curated, showcasing a perfect mix of historical and contemporary photography. The museum does a fantastic job of telling stories through images, and the interactive displays make the experience even more engaging. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to share insights. The architecture of the building itself adds to the artistic atmosphere. If you love photography or just appreciate visual storytelling, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

If you arrive at the cruise terminal, it is literally the closest thing you can get to, even if photography isn't of great interest, the shop has some nice prints and postcards of classic images including around the harbour for very good prices. At the time of posting, I bought an A4 image for 3euro.

Very close to Erasmus Bridge, this museum has a very nice collection from Dutch photographers. When I visited there was an exhibition on Ad Van Denderen called En Route. Also an exhibition called This One Is For You Serra by Monica Nouwens. The last temporary exhibit was Womxn. More Than a Muse by Sebiha Ozlas. Then there is a permanent exhibition of the Hall of Fame of Dutch Photography. Overall this was a nice museum and would recommend if you have a museum card.

A big museum with different exhibitions. Upstairs is library. The place is spacious, the current exhibition was interesting but not very charming. Visiting regularly can give you more insights. The toilet smells very good.

This Dutch museum for photography has a huge collection of top class photographs from top class photographers.
So can can draw from this collection to make very interesting exhibitions which never disappoint.
The location is in the part of where an old busy port of Rotterdam used to be and the museum is housed in one of the old warehouses from that time. The whole area is now full of restaurants, hotels and there is the cruise terminal.
With the so called Museumkaart you can get in for free so when you are planning to visit more museums in The Netherlands it may be a good idea to get one as normal entry prices are sometimes very high.
