The Dutch Pinball Museum in Rotterdam is an absolute gem and one of the most fun, nostalgic, and unique experiences you can have in the city. I highly recommend getting the full‑day pass rather than the 2‑hour ticket. With around 150 pinball machines to play — all free once you’re inside — two hours just isn’t enough. A full day lets you relax, explore, and enjoy everything at your own pace.
Do check their opening days before you go, as they’re not open every day. Wednesday is a safe bet, but it’s always best to confirm on their website so you don’t miss out.
The range of machines is incredible. You can play on pinball tables spanning more than half a century of history. I saw machines from the 1970s all the way to brand‑new, just‑released models — and I’m sure there are even more from other eras tucked in there. It’s like walking through a living timeline of gaming history, but with the added joy of actually getting to play everything.
There’s also a reasonably priced café where you can take a break, grab a drink, and recharge before diving back in. The staff deserve a special mention: they’re super friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. Honestly, they’re pinball wizards — happy to help, answer questions, and share their love for the machines.
If you’re in Rotterdam and want a day full of fun, nostalgia, and pure joy, the Dutch Pinball Museum is a must‑visit. I’ll be recommending it to everyone.
