Dutchess Hotel and Restaurant

Pizza is good. 5 stars for the pizza only. Customer care : zero. The servers are insisting and raising their voices even though it’s completely their mistakes. Customer cares are dead in Fort portal anyway.

I feel at home when coming to Dutchess. The staff is warm and friendly. Food and services are excellent. This time I got the suite (Bwindi) which extraordinary and has its own large balcony with a nice view into the garden. It was my 3rd time staying at Dutchess and for sure will not be the last.

Great place with many birds in the garden. Tasty food in the restaurant and even freshly baked bread and a cheese assortment for sale to take away. Highly recommended!

I stayed here for 4 nights while doing work in Fort Portal. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. Everyone was so welcoming, from the moment of arrival to the moment we left. The rooms were spacious with a large bed and mosquito netting. ||The restaurant was also fantastic as we ended up having almost all our meals here. So much so, they knew my breakfast order by the 3rd day! ||I will definitely return next time I'm in Fort Portal.

We enjoyed our time at the Dutchess very much. The location near the city centre is very convenient to have a look around in town, but it is unfortunate that it's quite a long way away from the Rwenzori Mts for example, which most people will be in this region for, I guess.

Pizza hit or miss. Some days it comes with lots of toppings and cheese. Other days it's just bread and sauce. But when it's good it's good.

I loved their meals. All my tour clients want make a stop over at Dutches each time I am in Fort Portal

If you are coming through beautiful western Uganda, and plan to stay in Fort Portal, I would highly recommend the Dutchess hotel and restaurant.||Not only are the rooms extremely clean, but they are very large, pleasant views, and the food is amazing.||For Westerners, please note that they wash the food, including the salads, with purified water.||I also cannot say enough about the management and the staff at the hotel, both of which were wonderful. The manager accompanied us to a local printer shop, and the staff was nothing but fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
