A comfortable, clean stay in the centre of the city. ||The beds were comfy with a selection of pillows available. The bathroom was modern, spacious and clean (and the shower was perfect!) we had a great view to the river! ||The pool was great tho very small. I'm glad we stayed in winter and went swimming at night because more it wouldn't comfortable fit than a few people (if you wanted to actually swim) ||A few things missing to take this to a five star experience |- no mini bar (and no option to preorder one|- menu and food from room service was average at best (in fact I didn't eat the meal I ordered as it was not good) |- no option to have breakfast in bed. I really would have loved some simple toast in bed in the morning. But sadly it was get dressed and pay for a huge buffet, or go without (or go elsewhere) |- the kettle smelled overwhelmingly of vinegar. I loved that it was obviously cleaned but after boiling a full kettle three times it was still too vinegary to drink. A second kettle was delivered upon request but the same issue.

The hotel provided a positive experience overall, with a nice and clean room. My only minor disappointment was with the room service. The food quality wasn't as good as I remember from my previous stay a years back, once had the best club sandwich but not anymore:(

The Duxton is our favourite hotel to stay in the city of Perth. Whether it’s for a special occasion, or a staycation it is always a pleasure to stay there. This visit we were pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade to a King Club Room. The room was amazing, spacious and the bed so comfortable. Breakfast was superb as it always has been every time we stay at the Duxton. My son also recently had his year 12 ball at the Duxton which he enjoyed immensely. So whether it’s to stay or for an event we can’t recommend the Duxton enough. The staff are always welcoming and accommodating.

We stayed for 2 nights on 22 - 24 May at the Perth Duxton Hotel. I was travelling with a friend and we each had our own room beside each other. The hotel is beautiful and our rooms and bathroom extremely spacious with everything we needed. Every member of the staff were polite and helpful. The position of the Duxton is excellent and was an easy walk to the River and in the other direction to the heart of the shopping. We left wishing we could to stay longer. ||A few days after we left I realised I had left 2 favourite items of clothing in the wardrobe and phoned the hotel from Sydney to tell them. The Concierge staff were exceptional in locating my things then personally sealing them in a bag and posting them to my home in New Zealand. They arrived yesterday and I was so thrilled to get them back safe and sound. That is Service at its Best.

Duxton Hotel is the 5 Star hotel in the city center of Perth. It is a luxurious place with a great view. The staff, the rooms& the lobby are marvelous. Perth Concert Hall & WA Museum are nearby. I had a chance to attend a wedding function. The hall was well decorated & the seating arrangement was very nice. The food was the best in quantity & quality.

We recently stayed at the Duxton Hotel Perth and had a lovely experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and professional, and genuinely go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The rooms are spacious and clean, with stunning views. The club floor and lounge access are incredible. We’ve had such a great experience here and can’t recommend it enough. Massive thanks to the whole team for making our stay so enjoyable.

Good location near Swan River (quarter of a mile) impressive lobby with helpful staff (I'm disabled), Check-In smooth again pleasant staff. Very good room, bathroom and excellent pillows and bed. Concierge very helpful.|My only quibble for a hotel of this quality would be the bar (I appreciate than some of this may relate to W Australian licencing laws). We arrived at 1pm after a typical Ozzt long dry drive. Bar not open till 2pm. At 2pm unsurprisingly very busy, one barmen responsible for serving drinks and full bar menu, with only two days experience. Next day took two friends back for a nightcap at 1010pm. Turned out of bar at 1045 (we were the only four customers, no last order and told to finish our drinks in the lobby.|Non Western Australian visitors beware. Otherwise very comfortable hotel, good staff and enjoyable stay. Restaurant good and excellent Steak Tartare (best I've ever had perhaps.

We stayed 5 nights on the 9th floor. Twin room for 3. Good size and bathroom has a filter Tap for unlimited drinking water with twin sinks. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Fast friendly staff. Location is easy walk to the Mall & Elizabeth Quey. Inside the free bus zone to Zings Park. Only reduced by 1 star due to us finding the bed very hard.

Yelp
First impressions is that the hotel is grand. Large impressive lobby, high ceilings and chandeliers. But no one came to hep us with our luggage nor offered to take it to our room Large club king room. Comfortable bed with pillow menu. Large marble bathroom. Layout of room poor. Tv next to couch so can only watch tv from bed. Would have been so easy to swap the desk and couch for a better use. Windows are tall and narrow so view very disjointed Club lounge ok. Same narrow windows so lacks impressive vista. Minimal food on buffet. Drinks bland and couldn't make a martini (I mean really? A dry martini is just neat gin!) Another table had hot canapés which we were never offered. Apparently you have to know to ask for them. So mixed overall. Grand but dated. Built to impress but staff lacking.

Yelp
Headed to the hotel bar from our room in seek of an upbeat and happening atmosphere. Unfortunately we found the bar really lacks in this department. The furnishings are posh enough but its a bit dated, dark and dank. The crowd were similarly themed. Feeling peckish we ordered the mezze plate, $47. It came served on a high-tea style tier. Weird. It was like seeing the Easter Bunny in a Santa suit. Make that a suit three sizes too small - the servings were so stingy. Average oily chorizo, rubbery squid and other niblets too uninspiring to be remembered, took up residence in what would customarily be scones and petit fours. High tea presentation to compensate lacking food? Seemed so. Unsuccessful. The best thing was the bread. Outrageously overpriced.

Yelp
Stayed here for one night as we were gifted an "escape package". Which was a standard room, valet parking and buffet breakfast the next morning... um well done on your fancy package name guys. Disappointments included the price of the valet should it not have been part of the package - ridiculous, and given there's not really any other parking in the CBD, this should ALWAYS be complimentary. The car park under the hotel was built for the hotel, so don't charge through the nose for it. The staff were friendly, and graciously announced that our wi-fi, was indeed, free. Woohoo. Gosh Perth, we're really behind the times if this is worth mentioning. Another big disappointment was that the bar staff didn't know what it meant when my husband asked for his scotch to be served 'neat'. Really! The bar was completely empty, and after gawking at the price list, I can see why. The walls were paper thin, so I could hear the conversations occurring in the room next door, and the buffet breakfast wasn't too crash hot either. There were two weddings in the hotel the night before so it was jam packed, the layout was a bit clunky and the pancake machine ran out of batter - and wasn't refilled for the entire 45 minutes we were there, during peak. Oh and the coffee tasted like dishwater swill. Disgusting. Overall, hardly worth the money and hardly a five-star hotel. Giving it two stars instead of one, because let's be honest, this is Perth, quite standard really.

Yelp
In July 2012 I decided to book my partner and I a stay away from home to celebrate his birthday and relax. I found a great deal for the Duxton online and booked us a 1 bedroom suite for 3 nights. From the minute we pulled up the service was amazing! We had a lovely valet employee open our doors, take our bags to the front reception and let us know the price for valet parking or that there was street parking near by. At the reception desk we were greated by a nice gentleman who checked us in and informed us that our room included access to the Club lounge which served complemantry drinks & canapes from 6pm-8pm and buffet breakfast from 6-10. He also asked us if we were fine with the level we were on or if we wanted a higher room. Our room was beautiful! Everything was very clean and nicely laid out. The big plus for me was the huge bathtub and complemantary champagne! I love a good bath and bubbly! The breakfast was also amazing! So much to chose from and really tasty. I can't comment on the hotel restuarant as my partner and I ventured into perth city for dinner but I would love to go back to try it! The one thing I always think about is the Club lounge. Sensational! Great top floor views of the Swan River and if you get there early you can enjoy a beautiful sunset. The lounge is decked out with cowhide seats glass top tables next to windows looking out at the river, and white couches with marble tables. The service in the lounge was top notch! It was very prompt and friendly. The canapes were super yummy and it was nice to have my wine refilled without asking :) Oh the high life! If only I got this service everyday after work.

Yelp
Booked one of the meeting rooms for a company event. The meeting room was located on the ground floor. Outside the room is electronic signage as well as in the lobby of the hotel. The room opens onto a communal space where food and drinks can be served. The communal space is shared by a couple of meeting rooms. Our room fit 30 people comfortably in a theatre style set up. ceiling mounted projector meant we could hire a projector screen for the presentation. Staff service was exceptional, there was always someone on the floor to assist. Presentation wise in the public areas, The Duxton is a beautiful hotel with its classic marble floors and chandeliers. Staff are immaculately dressed. The only area of improvement is the quantity of food, for the price it could be increased. The food catering is overpriced. An idea, It would be great if there was a mobile barista in the corner serving coffee rather than an urn on the table of black coffee of which we paid the equivalent of 2 coffees per person for. The Duxton Hotel is one of two high end hotels located on St Georges Terrace. The location is supreme for business. With the number of restaurants in the Perth CBD that also offer private board/meeting rooms the competition has increased though. The convenience of accommodating guests in the hotel was a big plus for the company.

Yelp
Before I lived in Perth, a country dweller who'd get in a tizzy about visits to the big smoke, Duxton was my family's place of stay for special occassions. It was always such a treat to come here: the expansive, marbled reception, the well-kept rooms, the Roman-style outdoor heated swimming pool, I used to think we were royalty I'm sure. I don't know if the Duxton would have the same appeal now I'm an adult and we're living in 2012, but I will always look to it with a particular fondness. The buffet breakfast is one of the best I've had in Perth as well.

Yelp
I have been to so many balls and dinners here and every single one has been fantastic. I highly recommend hiring a room for the evening too, it makes the evening so much sweeter knowing that you are only a floor away from your bed. I stayed in a pretty standard room and it ticked all the boxes clean, quiet and comfortable. The sheets were a little hard on the skin though. I think the winner here is definitely their conference rooms and ballrooms, if you are thinking about having your work gig here- go for it, you wont be disappointed.
