Food, service and atmosphere are all sensational. We had Sunday lunch and it was fabulous. Give me 14 of them. Every bit of the dish was just perfect. I'd say the lamb was better than the pork. The deserts were also great. Price is a bit high but no complaints because of how great everything was.

Review of Visit: 09/02 at 12:15 Party Size: 4 people Total Cost: £195 Given the high demand for Sunday bookings, I would recommend reserving a table at least a month in advance unless you are flexible with dates. The overall service was satisfactory, and the restaurant had an elegant décor. However, I found the lighting to be somewhat dim for my preference. Duck Spring Roll Starter - Generously filled with meat, though slightly over-seasoned and salty. Monkfish Starter - Not quite what I expected, as the flavor resembled salmon more than monkfish, but it was still enjoyable and refreshing. Olives – Unfortunately, they were overly salty and inedible. For our mains, we ordered two pork belly roasts, one lamb, and one chicken. The cauliflower cheese was delicious, the vegetables were well-cooked, and the roast potatoes were excellent. One of our party members has a milk allergy, so the cauliflower cheese was substituted with plain boiled cauliflower. However, there was no alternative provided for the Yorkshire pudding. This was a shame as the Yorkshire pudding itself was excellent. The portion sizes for the cauliflower and potatoes were on the smaller side, but everything was flavorful. Finding parking in St Albans was challenging, as most street parking was reserved for permit holders, and at least one nearby car park was full. The quality of the food was good, but the lunch was quite expensive for what it was.

Went for dinner. Decent quality food made with excellent produce. For main I had the Cornish cod lion, clotted cream mash, samphire and roast chicken gravy. So tasty and decent size. Pudding I had the Buttermilk & Tonka Bean Panacotta, Pineapple, White Chocolate, Coconut. Lovely wines and ended with an expresso martini. Great staff, attentive, friendly, knowledgable. Yum! I’ll be back.

As a local, we feel lucky to have this here. Really terrific food and atmosphere, cosy comfort, friendly staff. Outstanding food - consistently high quality and full of flavour.

We visitied on a Thursday lunchtime and enjoyed our set lunch here. The food was well presented and tasty, although we felt some of the dishes could have benefited from a side dish. There were sides on the menu, but our server did not recommend any to us. Overall it was great food and good value. Just a couple of points but nothing major. There were bones in both our fishcakes, my wifes lamb bruschetta was overly salty, and the hake nduja dish needed bread or something to mop up the sauce, as it was very thin. We felt the service was prompt but not overly friendly. I never understand why servers take away every menu including the drink list once you have placed your order. It was a bit disapointing that even though my wife was asked twice while booking if it was for a special occasion and she said it was for my birthday, this was not mentioned by anyone. I wasn't expecting a song and a dance, but still. We would we visit again if we were in St Albans.

An absolute hidden gem! (And the MOST dog friendly place in Hertfordshire) Exquisite service. Stunning drinks (and choices) plus great recommendations from the experts behind the bar. I have never had a bad meal here - the quality and standard is second to none and I adore the menu! Dylans The Kings Arms is top of my list for a beautiful meal or a lovely drink. You won’t be disappointed :-)

Popped in for one of their lunch menus, true to form we were not let down. We enjoyed a really nice 2 course lunch - highly recommended.

We came right at opening time on Saturday so the place was quite empty. Service was excellent as soon as we entered, we were warmly welcomed to our seats. The menu is simple and sophisticated with decent vegetarian options available too. The food itself though small portions, was delicious so can't complain. Presentation of the beef didn't look great haha but as I say really well executed. I look forward to visiting again for a Sunday roast hopefully!
